Types and sizes
We have two types of boards in our catalog:
- Tabletop - small-sized products that are suitable for students, as well as people with a low budget. The height is 6 cm, the length is 86 cm, and the height is 30 cm. They require installation on any flat surface. They are considered the most durable type of ironing board.
- Floor-standing – dimensions may vary depending on the size: mini and standard. In the “mini” category, boards with a length of 105-112 cm and a width of 29-34.5 cm are presented. The standard contains models with a length of 107-123.5 cm and a width of 29-46 cm.
The length of ironing boards is selected depending on the conditions of use: for small apartments and small dressing rooms, models from the “mini” category would be an ideal option. For large families, where a wide variety of things are ironed - from bed linen to pants, it is better to choose the “standard” type.
The remaining parameters are selected based on user preferences. A small width is enough to iron clothes, while for curtains and bed linen it is better to choose options from 40 cm to speed up and simplify the ironing process. The height of the board is selected based on the user’s height. Each model has height adjustment - stepwise and smooth. The stepped one has a maximum of 3 set levels, while the smooth one allows you to better adjust the board to the user.
Leg type
The legs of the ironing board, depending on the shape, ensure the stability of the product, as well as its compactness when folded:
- A-shaped - straight legs diverging towards the bottom. A common option found in many models. The stability indicator is lower than that of other options, but boards of this type are compact when folded.
- U-shaped - straight legs with a wide setting. Better adjustable and quite stable.
- T-shaped - legs crossed among themselves and diverging at the very bottom. They are considered one of the most stable if the lower part is equal to the width of the board.
- L-shaped - not the most common type. Saves space when folded, but some users complain of low stability if

- Metal mesh is a lightweight analogue of the previous option with a flat surface, convenient for ironing. But if you regularly and for a long time are exposed to high temperatures, there is a risk of places with obvious signs of deformation appearing, therefore it is not recommended to leave the iron on such a product.
- Plywood is a fairly cheap model that is lightweight. Not the most convenient material, as it can become deformed under the influence of steam and moisture.
- Chipboard is a lightweight and inexpensive option with high strength. The only negative is that it can “crumble” over time, but with high-quality source material this problem does not arise for a long period of time.
From the above list, metal models are considered the most expensive, but budget ones, affordable for everyone, are made of plywood and chipboard.
Design
The most important element of such furniture is the ironing surface. The dimensions of the system and the type of coating material have a serious impact on the duration of operation, as well as ease of use.
The most common, cheap option is considered to be a slab made from chipboard. Sometimes manufacturers replace chipboard with plywood. Unfortunately, this material begins to delaminate over time. An irritating squeak appears during ironing. There is only one way to get rid of it - purchase a new ironing system.
The steel plate increases the weight of the entire structure. If you use an iron with a steam function, the cover will quickly deteriorate. The metal mesh allows steam to pass through perfectly and does not affect the weight of the product. To prevent the mesh from being printed, housewives use a felt backing.
An excellent base for installing a steam iron is a plastic sheet. The wooden model has no disadvantages. Especially when the wood is pre-coated with a special antifungal compound.
The ironing surface is covered with a cover made of high-quality cotton fabric. Almost every model uses this material. In addition, as an addition, modern products are covered with a cover made from non-stick fabric. The advantages of such cases include:

- Iron stand. It can be all-metal or made in the form of a mesh or a contour made of metal wire. A good option if you need to iron frequently and for a long time. This extra space allows you to install a hot iron without the risk of ruining the board cover or item.
- Electrical socket, electrical extension cord, cable holder for iron. These elements improve the functionality of the ironing board, but make the design somewhat heavier and also increase the cost of the product.
Purchasing an ironing board with certain components (for example, an ironing board with an armrest) is everyone’s choice. And if the armband and the iron stand are necessary elements that simplify and speed up the ironing process, then the remaining parts are not always used.

- Quality of materials and durability - you need to carefully study what the ironing board is made of. The most short-lived material is chipboard, but its opposite and most reliable is thermoplastic.
