HOW TO REPLACE A LIGHT IN AN OVEN OVEN

HOW TO REPLACE A LIGHT IN AN OVEN OVEN

Replacing an oven light bulb is not without difficulty.
In the process, the most important thing is not to touch the fragile cap. The instructions for replacing the lamp must be followed carefully. This approach will ensure long-term operation of the device. Lamp replacement process

Lamps in gas and electric stoves are changed in a similar way to each other. However, the replacement process in different models may be carried out differently. First you need to turn off the oven itself. Allow it to cool, especially after cooking. The warmer the oven itself, the more difficult it is to unscrew the lamp and cap. The last element must be unscrewed before the lamp itself. The faulty lighting device also needs to be removed. Check the owner's manual for your oven to determine which appliance is compatible with your oven. Only after familiarization can you buy a new lighting lamp. Then install it together with the cap. Check the lamp's functionality. There are times when a suitable lamp is not available for certain ovens. In this case, try to avoid damaging the lighting fixture and be more careful with the equipment.

Electrolux

Ovens of the brand in question interact differently with lighting lamps. Electrolux stoves have removable glass. And it is attached with a latch. To remove it, light pressure with a screwdriver is necessary. The disconnection will occur and the part can be pulled out. Then unscrew the old lamp and connect the new one.

Bosch

You can replace the lamp in two ways: 1. Replacement method, as in Electrolux ovens; 2. By partially disassembling the oven; In case of disassembling the oven, you must contact the service center.

Hansa

Replacing the lamp in ovens of this brand occurs according to the standard process: 1. Unscrewing the cap; 2. Removing the cap; 3. Unscrewing the lamp; The cap in Hansa ovens has ridges. By holding them you need to unscrew the device. If you lack strength, press the rag against the cap. After turning, the cap is removed in a forward motion.

The most suitable lamp for most ovens

Most often, devices with an E14 base are used. This type of base is available for halogen and incandescent lamps. The manual for the oven of a particular model must specify which base is most suitable. There are cases when the slab interacts only with a smooth base. Lamps with powers of 25W and 40W are usually used. The main differences between them are power consumption and backlight power. They also differ from each other in service life: 1. 40W - 2-5 years; 2. 25W - eternity; Typically, for simple cooking in the kitchen, 25W lamps are chosen. For baking or other similar processes that require long-term baking, you need to buy 40W lighting. Backlight lamps must withstand heating up to 300°C and above. The packaging of the lighting product indicates the set temperature. This also applies to halogen lamps.

You need to be careful with halogen lamps because of the mercury inside. If a light fixture breaks, immediately pick up the pieces. Otherwise, mercury may end up on the food being prepared. It is more convenient to collect fragments using a brush. After you have collected the fragments, you need to throw away the brush. Treat the surface with potassium permanganate from a spray bottle. This will make the halogen lamp burn brighter than before.

Conclusion

When replacing a light bulb, you need to be very careful. There is a risk that the glass will break or deteriorate to such an extent that the device may no longer be suitable for further operation. To find out whether the lamp is suitable for your device, carefully read the operating instructions. Each manual tells you what type of lamp base the correct lamp has and how to install it correctly.

How to replace an oven light bulb

Today I will talk about how to replace the lamp in the oven. The most important thing is to choose the right lamp and follow safety precautions.

First of all, you need to turn off the power to the oven. To do this, you need to turn off the automatic switch leading to the oven on the distribution panel inside the apartment. If the oven does not have its own automatic switch, unplug the oven from the socket. If this is not possible (for example, the plug is behind the oven), then you will have to turn off the power to the apartment by turning off the input circuit breaker for the entire apartment. The process of unscrewing the light bulb will not take much time.

After turning off the power to the oven, turn the glass shade behind which there is a lamp. If you have been using the oven for a long time, problems may arise with unscrewing the lampshade. You can try wearing rubber or rubberized household gloves to prevent your hands from slipping.

If that doesn't work, you can use food grade lubricant. I use SMS-5, if there is no food grade, you can use non-food grade WD-40 (it has a characteristic smell, so after replacing the lamp, do not forget to ventilate the oven, warm it up and ventilate it again).

It takes a couple of short presses to add just a little grease, wait until it flows along the entire perimeter of the connection between the lampshade and the wall of the oven. Use a paper towel to remove any grease that drips down or accidentally gets onto other areas of the oven. Leave for 10 minutes.

Try turning it again, everything should come out easily.

If even now it doesn’t work out, then take insulated pliers with rubberized handles (so they don’t slip) or regular ones, but then you will need to wrap the lampshade with a strip of thin rubber (for example, you can cut a piece of a Russian-made sports rubber expander for punch training, it is brown and flat ) or a rubber glove.

Take the pliers by the jaws and grasp the lampshade with the handles. Slowly, little by little, increase the pressure and turn the lampshade. Do not overdo it by squeezing the handles of the pliers - you want to secure it tightly and not crack the lampshade. If you are not confident in your abilities, it is better not to use this method, but ask a friend who has more strength than you to help you.

Remember that you cannot use the oven with a broken lampshade!

As soon as you remove the lampshade, carefully, preferably with gloves, unscrew the lamp.

The lamp may have cracked and could easily break, injuring your hand!

Pay attention to whether there are any inscriptions on the lampshade. On mine there was an inscription indicating that the maximum power of the light bulb is 15 watts.

Put the lamp in place. And turn on the general circuit breaker if you have cut off power to the entire apartment.

Place the light bulb in a bag or box (so it doesn’t break on the road) and take it with you to the Svet specialty store or hardware supermarket. You need to buy not just a small light bulb like for a lamp or refrigerator, but a special one that is resistant to high temperatures. The packaging should state that the lamp can withstand temperatures of 300 degrees Celsius and indicate an oven.

Be sure to compare the dimensions with your oven light bulb, because if it is even a little longer or wider, it may not fit inside the lampshade and it will not fit into its place in the oven. Ideally, take the lampshade with you, in case the same lamp as yours is not available in the store.

After you purchase a new lamp, turn off the power to the oven again, screw the lamp into the socket in place of the burnt-out lamp, and then screw in the lampshade until it stops.
