Pants can be called one of the basic elements of your style. Just replace one pair of trousers with another, and you will completely change your dress code. Therefore, it is important to know how pants should fit in order to look 100%.
Young people, and sometimes even adult men, do not always know how to choose the right trousers. This is even despite the fact that there is at least one pair of trousers in the closet, purchased for a weekend evening. People simply go to the store and buy the first or second trousers they come across, while the seller shouts at the top of his lungs that: “...these trousers fit you perfectly!” Do you trust a stranger more than yourself? I think no. That is why I have prepared this article, where I will describe in detail how trousers should fit.
What you need to know about trousers
As I already said, trousers are one of the basic elements of your style. They may or may not be part of the costume. They can be used both for formal occasions and in casual style (read more about the types of trousers and trousers for men in the previous article).
Pants also help make you look more balanced in terms of height. If you are short, you should choose straight-fit trousers without bottom pleats. If you are very tall and want to visually shorten your height a little, then you should take trousers with pleats or cuffs.
Before we start looking at how trousers should fit, I want to draw your attention to the pleats at the bottom of the trousers. In fact, I believe there is no one correct length of trousers. It all depends on the style of trousers you wear, the shoes you choose, and the characteristics of your physique. Stylists distinguish 4 types of folds: full fold, half fold, quarter fold and no fold. The difference is visible if you look at the heel of the selected shoes. If the trousers are without folds, then the edge of the trousers slightly covers the upper part of the back. Full fold - only part of the sole of the shoe is visible, the leg of the trouser almost completely covers the heel.
As you move, if you have no folds, your pants will rise slightly and your socks will be visible. The same thing happens when you sit down on a chair. By the way, in this case, the socks must be long. The bare part of the leg between trousers and socks is unacceptable! How to choose socks, read in the previous publication, here.
If you choose trousers with pleats, then during movement the fold only straightens, and when squatting, it may not reveal the visible part of the socks at all.
Ironing rules
The iron is used on a flat surface. A table covered with a blanket or an ironing board is suitable for this.
You should have a piece of natural fabric (cotton, chintz, gauze) at hand. He will act as an ironing iron. Its main function is to prevent the negative effects of the iron on trousers. It is desirable that the iron be white, without any pattern.
You will also need to prepare a spray bottle with clean water for ironing. When treating trouser legs, you should periodically spray it onto the fabric. It is necessary to work with an iron that has an absolutely clean, smooth surface.
Pants with arrows
To iron trousers with creases, giving them greater definition and durability, you must follow the steps described below:
Actions | Conditions |
Turn the product inside out and place it correctly on the surface. | The internal and external seams must match completely. At the slightest deviation, the lines will appear uneven. |
Place an iron on your trousers | The fabric should be slightly damp. During the ironing process, it is periodically moistened with a spray bottle. |
Iron the entire length of the trouser legs, following the line of the arrows | You need to move the iron slowly, moving from top to bottom. Periodically it is torn off from the product and applied again. |
Smooth pants
When working with even models, follow the procedure already discussed. A steamer is also used - a device for fabrics that supplies steam. If this method is chosen, the product is placed on a hanger. The steamer has a pressure attachment. To make arrows, it is moved down the trouser material.
If an unsightly crease has formed on the material, get rid of it using ordinary 9% vinegar. For this, 2 tbsp. l. vinegar mixed with 1 liter of water. The resulting solution is soaked into gauze, distributed on the reverse side and steamed. Then they return to creating trouser creases.
