Important! You cannot use Cosmofen glue for gluing porous plastic materials, because the composition is absorbed by the pores, which is why the strength of the connection cannot be ensured.

Mechanical restoration

1. If you need to remove remnants of not completely hard Cosmofen CA 12, you can use COSMOPLAST 597. If the product has already completely hardened by that time, then you can clean the surface of it only mechanically. Therefore, the gluing process must be carried out with maximum care and precision;
2. In the case of foamed plastic materials, care must be taken not to apply too much of the substance to the surface. This threatens the foam falling off and the material deforming;
3. Subsequent processing of glued surfaces can only be carried out after the glue has completely dried.

• Glue "Cosmofen" for PVC products. In terms of performance characteristics, the product is similar to popular sealants. It is used when processing gaps in window blocks. The applied hardened mixture will not fade in the sun, peel off, or change color during use. Suitable for repairing fittings, plastic parts, plumbing equipment, fittings, pipes, etc.

• Glue "Cosmofen" CA 12. Practical and easy-to-use universal adhesive composition. Suitable for performing household work on gluing different types of materials.

• Cosmo - 500.200 (second cyanoacrylate). Has instant hold. Suitable for working with any popular materials. After application, durable, moisture-resistant seams are obtained that are not afraid of temperature changes and aggressive chemicals.

Important! Additionally, you can purchase the cyanoacrylate glue activator “Cosmofen” AC-12. This product is produced in the form of a spray. Its main purpose is to improve the performance characteristics of any type of adhesive composition that is made on the basis of cyanoacrylate.

Scope of application

This type of glue is well suited for fastening parts of plastic, leather, MDF and metal. It is well suited for working with surfaces of any size. Most often, Cosmofen is used for the following purposes:

This composition is not suitable for processing chemically inert substances - it glues them poorly. Therefore, it should not be used when working with polypropylene, A-PET and other similar materials.

How to use glue?

Before starting work on gluing products or parts, it is necessary to clean the surfaces to be joined as thoroughly as possible. Any dirt, grease and oil stains, remnants of old adhesive mixtures, etc. must be removed from them. If Cosmofen glue is used for gluing metal surfaces, then it is necessary to pre-treat them with a solvent.

After preparing the surface, work is carried out in the following sequence:

1. An adhesive mixture must be applied to one of the surfaces to be glued.
2. The composition is applied using a dispenser cap.
3. After application, you must immediately press and hold the surfaces to be bonded firmly.
4. You need to hold it for about 10-20 seconds.

Important! If the parts were initially connected incorrectly, then it will no longer be possible to correct their position 10 seconds after connection.

Cosmofen glue finally hardens and gains the required performance characteristics in approximately 8-16 hours. To speed up the hardening process of the adhesive solution, it is necessary to use special catalysts.

Cleaners Cosmofen 5, 10, 20

A separate product line in the Cosmofen product catalog are special cleaners. Thanks to the specially developed structure of the products, Cosmofen 10 and its other subtypes allow you to quickly cope with the restoration of coatings from small cracks and chips.

Most often, products in the line of cleaners are used in industrial settings. The main difference between products marked 5, 10 and 20 is their ability to dissolve the processed materials:

• Cosmofen 5 is a strong solvent;
• Cosmofen 10 is a moderate solvent intended for easy cleaning of products before gluing;
• Cosmofen 20 – does not dissolve at all, used before gluing to clean easily perishable materials from minor contaminants.

Is it possible to somehow wipe off the Cosmofen glue?

Cosmofen glue for plastic is quite difficult to wipe off. If excess adhesive solution has formed, or frozen drops of it remain on the material after use, it is recommended to remove them using special cleaning agents. For example, you can use Cosmo branded cleaner.

• If it is not possible to purchase such a cleaner, then it is recommended to use traditional “Dimexide”. The product must be applied to the hardened adhesive composition and wait 3-4 minutes. As a result of exposure to Dimexide, the hardened solution will gradually begin to soften, so it can be removed with a rag or damp cloth. If a large amount of Cosmofen glue was accidentally spilled, then the frozen adhesive solution will need to be soaked repeatedly - until the entire frozen mixture is softened.

• If the adhesive mixture has frozen on your hands, do not try to rub it off mechanically. In this case, Cosmofen glue can also be removed using Dimexide, but the product must be diluted with clean water at room temperature in a ratio of 1:3. Dimexide cannot be used in its pure form, as it can cause severe burns.

Important! If a highly concentrated type of Cosmofen glue comes into contact with the skin, there is a possibility of a fairly severe chemical burn at the site of contact. In such a situation, it is recommended to seek help from a medical facility as quickly as possible.

Removing excess

Removing excess Cosmofen or cleaning up accidentally spilled glue can be quite difficult. It is better not to wait for the mixture to harden, but to immediately begin to act. The best results can be achieved by using special products such as Cosmo CL-300.150 solvent. If you don’t have it, the drug Dimexide, which is sold in any pharmacy, is suitable. It should be applied to spilled glue stains and then left for a few minutes. Then wipe them with cotton wool, gauze or bandage. If necessary, repeat the procedure several times.

You can also wash glue from your hands using Dimexide. It must be diluted with water to obtain a composition with a substance concentration of 30-50%. Use the resulting mixture to thoroughly scrub Cosmofen so that no particles of the composition remain on the skin. But it is worth remembering that improper use of the drug can cause a chemical burn. In addition, you need to familiarize yourself with its contraindications.

Hardened and completely dried adhesive can only be removed mechanically. It is scraped off using an ordinary knife. The remaining substance is sprinkled with soda, and then the surface is treated with sandpaper - this will help level it and remove excess.

Storage rules

Cosmofen glue must be stored in accordance with the rules established by the manufacturer:

• At room temperature, the adhesive composition can be stored and used periodically for 5-6 months.
• If the temperature is low (less than +5o C), then it can be stored and used for 10-12 months.
• Storage should be carried out at a humidity of no more than 65%.
• The adhesive solution must be stored in a dark place (it is important that the product packaging is not exposed to the sun's rays and is not exposed to ultraviolet radiation).
• If the original packaging is broken, the maximum shelf life is 3-4 months.
