Washing programs by time and temperature
The modes of the Indesit automatic washing machine (WMA) are divided into basic and additional . The decoding of the programs is indicated in the instructions for the unit and on the panel of the powder container.
Basic
The list of mandatory modes includes washing programs for cotton, synthetics, wool and delicate fabrics.
Cotton
For washing cotton items, the manufacturer has provided 4 modes:
With soaking . Designed for heavily soiled laundry that needs to be bleached or treated with a stain remover. The cycle duration is 150 minutes and the water temperature is 90°.- Intensive. The mode is suitable for light-colored home textiles and clothes with stubborn stains.
As in the previous case, washing occurs in very hot water (90º). The duration of the program is 180 minutes. - Standard. In this mode you can wash white clothes, cotton underwear and bed linen, tablecloths, etc. The washing water heats up to 60º, so the program is not suitable for all colored items. Duration – 150 minutes.
- Careful. The program is suitable for colored and lightly soiled cotton laundry. Washing lasts about 150 minutes at 40°.
In the “Cotton” mode, the machine drum must be loaded to the maximum value allowed by the manufacturer.
Synthetics
Synthetic items are washed in one of two modes:
- “Intensive” – 60º, 85 minutes;
- “Gentle” – 40º, 70 minutes.
It is recommended to load SMA to no more than half the volume of the drum.
Wool
The mode is designed for gentle cleaning of wool and cashmere products. The cycle duration is 55 minutes, the water temperature is 40º.
You should check labels before loading items as some wool items can only be washed in cold water or by hand.
Silk
The program is suitable for all types of delicate fabrics, thin linen, clothes with membranes and down (if there is no corresponding mode). Washing lasts 55 minutes at 30º.
The program does not include rinsing and spinning, so after finishing washing you need to carefully pat clean laundry with a dry towel. The weight of items made of wool or delicate fabrics should not exceed 1.5 kg.
Delicate
The mode is similar to the previous program. Heating to 30° ensures gentle cleaning of fabric , but by increasing the cycle duration to 80 minutes, items are washed more thoroughly.
As a rule, the main modes are located in the first positions, but for SMAs with an electronic display (for example, Indezit BWSA, NWSK) they can be placed after the special ones.
The list of standard programs includes:
- “White cotton with pre-soaking” (duration – 200 minutes, water heating temperature – 90°);
- “Cotton 60º” (190 min.);
- “Cotton 40º” (175 min.);
- “Synthetics” – only for permanently dyed fabrics (110 min., 60°);
- “Colored fabrics” (125 min., 30°).
For everyday cleaning of things made from natural fabrics and synthetics, the “Push&Wash” function is suitable, which is activated by a separate button. The washing cycle lasts 50 minutes, the maximum load is 3 kg, and the water heating temperature is 30°.
In some models (for example, WISL 105), the list of basic ones includes washing modes for cotton, synthetics, wool and silk. In total, this SMA has 7 standard programs. Only special modes for quick cleaning, washing sports shoes and clothes are special for it.
The Indesit WIUN 105 washing machine has programs divided into 3 categories: for cotton, synthetics and delicate fabrics. The first category includes 5 modes:
- “Pre-wash” – at 90°.
- “Intensive” – at 90° (for heavily soiled light-colored items).
- “Normal wash” – at 60°.
- “Delicate cleaning” – at 40°.
- “Washing colored items” – at 30°.
Modes 6-9 are intended for synthetic fabrics. Intensive wash (6) is carried out at a temperature of 60°, standard (7) – 500, delicate (8) – 40°, and everyday wash (9) – 30°. There are only two programs for delicate fabrics: “Wool” – 10 (at 40°) and “Silk” – 11 (at 30°).
Additional
The set of special modes depends on the model of the washing machine.
Jeans
Denim fades and stretches easily when washed frequently on the Cotton cycle. Reducing the temperature to 40º and reducing the spin speed prevents discoloration and wear of items. Cycle duration is 70 minutes.
Dark fabrics
The gentle temperature regime (30º) preserves the color of black and other dark items. The cleaning cycle lasts 80 minutes.
Odor removal
This function of the Indesit washing machine allows you to refresh clothes without heavy contamination.
The washing temperature and duration depend on the type of fabric:
- for cotton – 125 minutes at a temperature of 60º;
- for synthetics – 110 minutes at a temperature of 40º.
Express 15 (Refreshing wash)
The Express and Refresh modes are suitable for removing musty odors and minor stains from clean laundry. The first program lasts 15 minutes at 30º, and the second – 20 minutes. at 20º.
Sports (Sportswear)
The fabrics from which sportswear is made have special properties and therefore require more careful cleaning than conventional synthetics. When you turn on the “Sport” and “Sport Intensive” programs, the water heats up to 30º . The cycle duration is 70-80 minutes.
Sport shoes
The mode is suitable for cleaning sneakers made of fabric and suede. It is advisable to load no more than 2 pairs of shoes in one cycle. The washing duration is 60 minutes and the temperature is 30º.
Feather
The mode is intended for washing:
- down jackets,
- pillows,
- winter overalls, etc.
The washing cycle lasts 110 minutes, the water heats up to 30º. To prevent the filler from matting, you must use special plastic balls.
When washing in the “Eco” and “Jeans” modes, the drum load should not exceed 2-2.5 kg.
After the listed modes there may be icons for rinsing, spinning, draining water, etc. They allow you to adjust the existing program or switch the machine manually if it freezes.
Other features
For additional mode settings, the following buttons may be present on the control panel:
- “Half load”, “Reduced load”.
- “Cold wash”, “60º mode” (program without heating or with limited water temperature).
- “Extra wash” (especially thorough washing for stubborn stains).
- “Eco time” (mode of economical consumption of electricity and water with a small drum load).

What buttons and selectors are there?
Any Indesit SMA has the following elements on the control panel:
- Program switch. There are icons on the panel, duplicated with pictures. The consumer turns the selector to select the desired option.
- Temperature switch. If the user selects a specific program, the temperature is set automatically. But thanks to the selector, you can adjust the water heating.
- Speed switch. The rotation speed of the drum can also be changed - in any direction.
- Start/stop or on/off button. Activates and deactivates the machine. Near the button there is an LED indicating the state of the device.
Also on Indesit machines, depending on the model, there are additional buttons:
- 50% load. It is pressed if you need to wash several items. Saving water and electricity.
- Reducing the spin speed. Use for delicate fabrics.
- Super rinse. For thorough rinsing.
- Cold wash. For delicate materials and not very dirty things.
- Disabling spin.
Explanation of icons on the panel
On older models of Indesit washing machines, there were special icons next to the program switch. On modern models, the designations began to be indicated on top of the powder cuvette, and next to the switch there are numbers responsible for turning on the required program. And in order for the machine to wash dirty laundry efficiently, the housewife must know what types of fabrics correspond to a particular program. But the main thing is to correctly understand the decoding of the notation:
- the “Cotton” program is displayed in the form of a box of cotton or a T-shirt;
- the “Synthetics” program is depicted in the form of a flask;
- the “Wool” program is presented in the form of a ball of thread;
- The “Silk” program is reflected on the work panel in the form of a T-shirt.
Additional functions also have individual images:
- rinsing is displayed as a bowl with drops of water;
- spinning is presented in the form of a spiral image;

How to wash sneakers in a machine (white sneakers or shoes with specific dirt)? Remove stains first using one of the following recipes:
- Difficult stains on the surface of sneakers are removed using purified gasoline and stain remover. Dampen a cotton pad and rub the dirt. Let it sit for the gasoline to evaporate. Apply stain remover. After 15 minutes, rinse your sneakers thoroughly.
- Yellowness on a white or textile surface of the sole can be treated with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide 3%, washing powder and table vinegar 9%. Take the components in equal parts. Apply with a brush to the stain and the ENTIRE surface. Let it sit for a while and rinse thoroughly.
- Dirt on light soles. It is easy to clean with “White” or other bleaching agent. Apply it carefully with a cotton swab so that the product does not get on the fabric.
- Stains on suede after water. Stuff the sneakers with white paper, dampen the surface, and comb in the direction of the grain. Blot with a rag so as not to disturb the design. Dry it. Brush with a dry soft brush.
Special modes in popular Indesit models
- WG1035txc. A distinctive feature of this modification is the presence of additional settings for each main program. For example, not just “synthetics”, but several options - with fabric softening, anti-shedding and for durable colored products. Additionally, automatic addition of softening agents is installed.
- IWDC 6105. There is a non-standard “light sports” option - for washing lightly soiled sportswear for fitness, yoga or swimming. There is a “quick dry wash” - it quickly washes and dries things. Half load. Ready time: 15 minutes.
- WISL 105. Only one additional option - “everyday wash at 30 °C”. Applicable to synthetics with minor stains. Allows you to save water and electricity. It is recommended to use liquid detergents.
- WISL 102. In addition to “daily care 30 degrees”, there is also “light ironing” - its activation depends on the tolerance of the selected program, load and temperature.
- WIT 60. Budget version without additional options. But there is a “water stop” function.
- WIUN 102. There is “daily washing of synthetics” at 30 degrees.

A distinctive feature of the Indesit model range is its conservative control panel. It is easy to understand, since almost every icon is duplicated with an inscription. Simple operation is the key to “mutual understanding” between the user and the technology.
Preparing shoes
Having set up the automatic washing machine, we begin to prepare the shoes themselves. The first step is to carefully inspect the sneakers. If they contain pasted decorative elements, reflectors, patches, sparkles, rhinestones, then it is better to limit yourself to hand washing. Otherwise, it’s easy to lose the decor as the drum rotates, ruining both the sneakers and the equipment. We act in the same way with foam rubber sticking out of the crosses, since the filler will come out during movement and clog the drain system of the washing machine. Then we proceed like this.
- We take out the laces and insoles. It is better to try washing the latter by hand: wet it, sprinkle it with powder and rub it with a stiff shoe brush for 10 minutes. If you don’t want to do hand washing, then put the removed items in the drum with the sneakers.
- We thoroughly clean the sole, removing dirt, sand, stones, grass and other debris. We arm ourselves with a toothpick or a knitting needle and go through all the “grooves” on the tread. Afterwards, be sure to rinse your shoes under the tap. Don't be afraid to soak the sneakers inside - they still have to be washed in a machine.
- We combine shoes by color. The rules are the same as for standard washing: white is washed with white, black with dark, and colored with colored. Do not forget that when making shoes, ordinary dyes are used, which can fade and ruin another pair.
- We place the sneakers in a special protective bag. An old pillowcase or nylon stocking will do.
- We load the sneakers into the drum, and along with them we put a few old towels, a rug or jeans. Thanks to the “cushion”, the sneakers will not hit the walls of the drum and upset the balance of the washing machine. Also, such protection will preserve the integrity of the ribs, blades, bumpers and will not allow the decor to penetrate into the drain system of the machine.
In one cycle, 1-2 pairs of sneakers are washed, regardless of the capacity of the Indesit machine.
Loading three, four or more pairs of sneakers into the drum is strictly prohibited. Even with minimal unwinding, shoes can break the glass of the hatch door and interrupt the planned wash in the most unpleasant and costly way . It’s better not to take risks, but to distribute the sneakers that need cleaning over several cycles.
