How and where to pour?

All detergents must be placed in a special tray. It is located at the top of the case, on the left side (if you stand facing the panel). The powder receptacle opens easily; just insert your finger into a small recess and pull it towards you.

The cuvette is represented by 3 sections , inside of which there are marks. You need to look from left to right:

  • II – the first section is signed with the Roman numeral two, it is intended for the powder that will be used during the main wash cycle;
  • * - the image of a flower or star is in the central section, it is used for adding liquid detergents;
  • I – the outermost compartment is marked with the Roman numeral one; powder for pre-washing is poured into it.

The central compartment has a special limiter. It is necessary for the user to dose the composition correctly. Liquid should not be poured above the specified mark.

There are markings on all Bosch washing machines without exception. If suddenly it is impossible to see it, then you should proceed from the size of the trays. The largest of them is intended for powder for the main wash, and the smallest is for fabric softeners and conditioners.

The video will show you how to properly pour powder into the washing machine:

Why are there three compartments in an automatic washing machine and their designations?

There are three compartments in a standard automatic washing machine. Each of them is marked with special symbols for ease of use and identification:

If a combination of circumstances occurs when the designations for some reason become invisible, the purpose of the compartment can be determined by its dimensions.

Another life hack for finding a compartment for the main wash is to start the machine without powder. During startup, you need to slightly open the drawer with compartments and wait for water to fill. The water will enter the main wash compartment first.

What happens if you put it in the wrong place?

If you pour washing powder into the wrong compartment of a Bosch washing machine, then nothing critical will happen. The device will not fail, the washing will start as usual .

However, this should not be done; because of the housewife’s mistake, her things will suffer first of all - they will be washed and rinsed worse. Time and detergents will be wasted, and the laundry will have to be rewashed.

The manufacturer divided the powder receiver into sections for a reason ; the composition enters each of them at a certain time. If you put detergent in the wrong compartment, it will only get into the drum at the main wash or even rinse stage. Therefore, when adding powder, you must follow the instructions.

Differences for Bosch washing machines with different loading types

In Bosch machines with vertical and horizontal loading, there is a difference between the location of the powder cuvette. In front-loading appliances, it is located in a visible place - on the front wall of the panel in the upper left corner.

For machines with vertical loading, the powder receptacle is hidden by a top cover. The number of sections in it does not differ. There are three of them: for pre- and main wash, as well as for liquid detergents .

Each section is marked. The main disadvantage of this arrangement of the powder receptacle is that at the washing stage it will no longer be possible to add detergent.

Correct installation of the machine

Bosch Maxx 5 washing appliances should be installed on a reinforced surface. It should be noted that during the washing process the machine may move due to strong vibration. That is why it should be installed level. It’s even better to fix the body by additionally securing the legs.

It is important to note that this washing equipment is heavy. Therefore, you need to be very careful when moving it from one place to another.

After unpacking the machine, you need to check the condition of the case. If damage is found, the equipment must be returned to the store. You don't even need to connect it to the mains.

If the body of the machine has no defects, then you can install it. However, it is necessary to first prepare the place where the washing equipment will be located.

To do this you need to do the following:

  • Strengthen the floor. It is not at all necessary to make the floor perfectly level, because at the base of the washing machine there are twist-out legs with which you can adjust its position.
  • Organize the removal of sewerage and water pipes. You also need to install a moisture-resistant outlet for the washing machine.
  • Check the space in which the washing machine will be placed. The gap between objects located nearby should be at least 1 centimeter.

The fifth Bosch Maxx model contains special transport bolts on the rear wall. They secure the drum during transportation. Before using the machine, they should be unscrewed. These bolts should be collected, but not thrown away. They may be needed in the future.

Then you need to plug the holes for the bolts. It is also necessary to remove the drain and fill hoses from the fixing fasteners. But this is done after moving the washing machine to the installation site.

Then you need to place a building level on the lid of the washer, and then unscrew its legs one by one until the machine is level. The deviation should not exceed 2 degrees. Next, you need to connect the drain hose to the sewer. It needs to be bent in such a way that water remains in the knee. Then no foreign odors from the sewer pipe will enter the machine. The best connection height is 60 centimeters.

Next, you need to connect the inlet hose to the water pipe. This is done through a tee tap. The connections must be insulated with foam. The tee valve outlets must have a standard diameter (3⁄4 inches). Before screwing on the inlet hose, you must check that all rubber seals are present.

Do not connect washing equipment to a water supply with low water pressure. Checking the pressure is very simple. You need to open the tap and then count the number of liters of water that will flow out of the water supply in one minute. Must be at least 8 liters.

At the final stage, you need to plug in the washing machine. But first you need to check that the outlet is working properly. If you have doubts at this stage, it is better to contact an electrician. It is important that the outlet is grounded. It must also cope with the maximum load that the Bosch machine can create.

Is it possible to put powder product into the drum?

The manufacturer does not recommend pouring detergent directly into the drum . The exception is laundry capsules. They have several compartments with shells of different thicknesses. It thins out as you wash, so the detergent is released in doses, at the moment when it is needed.

Powders contain granules, their composition is quite aggressive. The bulk product needs time to dissolve. If you place it directly into the drum, it will negatively affect the color of things and also lead to their rapid wear.

The powder is washed out of the cuvette at a certain time, which corresponds to the washing program. On the way to the drum, it partially dissolves, which contributes to its uniform distribution.

Bleach and conditioners should also not be poured into the drum of a Bosch washing machine. Things will not suffer because of this, but the desired effect will not be achieved. Liquid products will simply be washed away during the washing phase.

Sometimes housewives are faced with the need to add detergent directly into the drum, for example, if the tray is faulty and things need to be washed immediately. In this case, the powder must be poured into a special container. It works like a dispenser, systematically releasing detergent. Its use will allow you to wash things without compromising their quality.

Read the instructions

Each washing machine comes with a manual that contains information about where to add or fill in which product. If the instructions are lost, they can be found on the Internet, where there are manuals for almost all existing models of washing machines. Typically, the relevant information is included in a separate section of the manual, and is very easy to find.

It also happens that the machine is old, and it is impossible to find instructions for it. In this case, you can contact the manufacturer (every company that produces household appliances has a website on the Internet with contact information). But usually this is not required - the desired tray is easy to find on your own.

The video shows how the tray cells are located in one of the washing machine models:

Dosing correctly

The dosage of detergents depends on a number of factors:

  1. Surfactant concentration in washing powder. The higher it is, the less detergent required.

  2. The amount of laundry and the degree of soiling. To wash 1 kg of clothes, on average, take 1 tablespoon of powder.
  3. Water hardness level. The higher it is, the worse the detergent composition works.
  4. Washing program and its duration.

The powder is packaged in packaging that contains detailed information on its use and dosage. It’s good if the manufacturer took care to supplement their detergent with a measuring spoon or cup.

If you apply too much product, excess foam will form . At best, the machine will simply stop washing. At worst, a leak will occur and repairs will be required.

The best gels for washing children's clothes

"Eared Nanny" - safe gel for children

When buying a detergent for children's clothes, it is important that it meets all quality criteria and standards.
And for this category of goods, the requirements are strict and even exaggerated, but it has been fully tested. The gel does not irritate the child’s mucous membranes and does not provoke the development of allergies. An examination carried out by Roskontrol showed that the product copes relatively well with removing stains that children can leave. For example, traces of juice, paints, plasticine, markers and pens have completely disappeared. But, at the same time, the gel itself is poorly washed out of the fabric.

During the study, experts performed three rinses in a row, but residual surfactants still remained in the fabric.

Rules for the use of liquid detergent compositions

Manufacturers of household chemicals offer the use of liquid detergents to improve the quality of washing. They should not be used like powder. Features of application:

  1. Fabric softener . It is poured into a separate compartment, which is located in the center of the cuvette and is marked with a “*”. If you add liquid directly into the drum, the effect of its use will be reduced to zero.
  2. Bleach . If the conditioner poured into the drum is simply washed out along with streams of water, then the bleach can cause serious damage to the fabric, leaving stains on it. The more aggressive the components in its composition, the worse. Bleach and stain remover are added to the main compartment, along with washing powder.
  3. Rinse and balm . These products must be used at the end of the wash, so they are poured into the middle section of the cuvette.

Capsules contain liquid components. This is the only detergent that can be added directly to the drum.

Helpful information

Tips for using detergents for Bosch washing machine users:

  • if the machine is being used for the first time, the tray can be fixed with adhesive tape, which needs to be removed;

  • Hand washing detergents cannot be poured into the dishwasher of a washing machine; they foam a lot and can lead to equipment breakdown;

  • bleaches and stain removers, when added directly into the drum, can damage not only things, but also the rubber seal of the hatch;
  • After each wash, the tray should be wiped with a dry cloth to avoid the appearance of mold, which multiplies quickly in a damp environment;
  • If scale and lime deposits have formed in the cuvette, then available means can be used to remove them: citric acid, soda or table vinegar; the treatment should be carried out after removing the tray.
