Flowers? Receiving a bouquet as a present is certainly pleasant, but such a gift is unlikely to surprise. Another thing is a basket of fruit. Such gifts are gaining great popularity, because they are original, solemn, pleasant and edible.

You've probably seen similar compositions at holidays: at weddings, children's parties and birthdays - such a basket can serve as a bright decoration for a celebration and perfectly serve as a gift.

You can order an original bouquet of fruit or an interestingly designed basket in specialized stores, purchase it in some large supermarkets, or try to make it yourself. A large, interesting composition only seems complicated, but in reality, decorating a fruit basket is simple and, it’s worth noting, very interesting. How to make such a pleasant surprise? We will be happy to tell you how to make a fruit basket with your own hands, and even offer some interesting options.

What can you weave a basket from?

First, decide why exactly the basket should be woven with your own hands.
It is important to take into account the weight of the material. For example, willow is a heavy material and is suitable for large models, but it will also be a good option for a berry basket

On the other hand, a small decorative table basket could be made from lighter willow or veneer.

These items are not only beautiful, but also functional.

From the rope

Rope baskets are easy to make and the materials are very inexpensive. You can make them in countless ways, in all kinds of shapes and sizes. You can even make them in other colors by dyeing the rope you use.

Baskets made from thick ropes are very decorative.

Veneer

Square baskets are functional and these baskets also look great. This material can look elegant: you can create a unique and elegant look for a basket with veneer lining.

A product made from natural veneer looks as if it were made from real solid wood.

From twine

Twine can be used to make multi-colored baskets with a curled edge for added structure. Twine can be dyed in a variety of bright colors. A twine basket is a durable yet lightweight storage solution.

Twine weaving is done in a similar way to rope weaving.

From paper or cardboard boxes

Paper models are useful for storing small items and are an excellent container for gifts. They can be made using materials you already have. It's also a fun and easy craft for any age.

The construction of thin cardboard, paper, which must be pre-corrugated, is made easily and quickly.

From newspaper tubes

If you need to find out what you can very easily weave a basket from, then you should pay attention to the newspaper. It is very easy to weave it using newspaper

There is no need to go into detail that the material for creating such a model costs practically nothing. If you have never weaved baskets before, try starting with this method and then move on to weaving with other materials.

To make the product rigid, it is primed with PVA glue or varnished.

From the willow vine

While the long, thin branches of most willow species are suitable for creating beautiful wicker baskets, some larger willow species are favored by weavers around the world.

People have been weaving from willow twigs for a very long time - this material is flexible, completely natural.

Willows grown for baskets are often pruned in late winter, so their branches are softer and easier to weave. Maintenance of a willow wood basket is minimal and its lifespan is long-lasting.

From pine roots

Pine roots are surprisingly strong and flexible. They are also quite thin and can come in beautiful colors. They are typically used to attach to both folding bark baskets and traditional birch bark baskets. Pine roots are also used as a warp in rolled baskets and are easy to weave as sewing thread.

Baskets made from the roots of coniferous trees (pine, fir, spruce) are very durable and textured.

From threads

If you're looking for a relaxing craft, then thread basket making might be for you. Material costs are minimal and the entire process of winding and weaving is very meditative. Once you have mastered the technique of making a model from threads, you can make any shape you want. They are very practical and make great gifts.

If you want to knit a product that is as rigid as possible, the threads should almost coincide with the thickness of the hook.

Application of paper

The material is considered the most affordable, light and practical; such a basket in the interior looks very attractive and is as close as possible to the model from the store. Leather handles add drama, creating a contrast between the two types of materials.

You need to prepare the following components:

  1. Baking paper.
  2. The base is made of fiberboard.
  3. Skewers in the right quantity.
  4. Glue.
  5. Protective varnish.

The main blanks are made by rolling up tubes; you will need quite a lot of these elements.

After which several components are attached to the base, which should also be wrapped in paper for better contact of the surfaces with the glue, the frame of the product is formed.

Important! You must remember to insert skewers into the main elements, then the structure will gain rigidity and be as reliable as possible.

Before starting any process, you should look at a photo of a basket made of wicker, paper, thread or other materials to have an idea of the finished structure.

After completing the last rows, the height can be adjusted independently; handles are created for more convenient carrying of the product. A protective coating in the form of varnish is applied, it is better to purchase a special liquid in cans; working with a brush will not be very convenient.

Thanks to this product, the craft can be placed even in the bathroom, where temperature changes often occur and humidity rises; there is no need to worry about its integrity if the work is done efficiently.

Basket made of newspaper tubes

Making such a basket is not so easy. It is not so easy for beginners to cope with the task, but if you try hard, the product will turn out to be quite beautiful and unusual. Such a basket can decorate the hallway and bedroom, and you can also store all sorts of little things in it.

To make a small basket you will need to make about 200 newspaper tubes. But, if you want a large basket, then you will have to prepare almost a thousand identical sticks.

You need to start weaving from the bottom. To do this, take 4 tubes and fold them crosswise. Make 4 circles around the two main ones and bend them. Thus you need to make 5-7 rows.

Measure the distance between the posts; it should be about 3 centimeters. At this point it's time to introduce new sticks. To keep the racks in place, you need to glue the racks and wicker elements together. You need to weave until you realize that the bottom has already reached the desired size.

Choose a shape that your basket will look like. This could be a jar or a balloon.

Try on the bottom and bend the stems. Now you can start weaving the sides. Fix the basket and start weaving in the same way.

Weave the basket to the desired height and cut off the excess sticks. Secure the tubes with glue.

The top edge should be thicker and beautifully decorated. To do this, take three tubes and weave them into the very last row. This needs to be done in a circle. We hide the sharp ends and carefully lubricate them with glue.

The finished basket can be painted in any color. Brown looks very impressive. Ribbons can be used as decoration.

Twine model

Each master chooses the shape independently, but the oval basket looks most impressive; it is spacious and fits perfectly into any home decor.

For manipulations you need to prepare:

  • Twine, a skein of 25 meters will be enough.
  • Scissors.
  • Sample.

Stages of work:

  1. Without an auxiliary form, the process cannot be carried out, because the raw materials are too soft and thin, and if you refuse it, you can experience a lot of inconvenience and frustration.
  2. At the first stage, 12 pieces of 65 cm each are cut, after preparing the base, weaving work begins, which will take some time.
  3. Despite the laboriousness of the process, the finished item will look simply gorgeous, and the effort and hours spent will not be in vain.
  4. Having reached the last row, the auxiliary form is pulled out, and the edges are intertwined with each other so that the craft does not fall apart.

A simple solution, or How to decorate a wicker basket – Crafts Fair

I want to tell you how simply and easily you can decorate a basket. It seems to me that at least once all women were given flowers for their birthday in a wicker basket. The birthday has passed, the flowers have dried up, and we feel sorry to throw away the flower basket. And it stands somewhere in a corner, unclaimed, because it’s a little “ugly” and it’s a shame to throw it away.

So I found a solution for such baskets. I think it turned out nice. Now all that remains is to buy artificial fruits or vegetables and put them in it and place it in the kitchen in the middle of the dining table. As they say, create a little comfort.

So, we will need:

1. Fabric - 40-45 cm with a width of 150 cm (I took cotton fabric with a pattern in the “Slavic style”).

2. Threads to match the fabric.

3. Sewing machine.

4. Centimeter or ruler, chalk.

5. Lace 150 cm.

6. Pencil.

It seems to me that the baskets are all standard, so you can use my measurements.

Step 1: measure the bottom diameter and height with an overlap on the outside. My diameter = 18 cm and height = 35 cm.

Step 2: here are the details we need to cut out:

Step 3: cut out our fabric parts, adding 1.5 cm for seams. I cut out the bottom according to the lid of a suitable size.

Step 4: We begin preparing for sewing.

We have two side parts, we turn them in height by 0.5 cm and press them with an iron, we turn them in another 0.5 cm and also iron them and sew them on a machine. Next, what will be our width: we retreat 5 cm from the edges and sew with a straight seam using the longest stitch. This is needed for assembly. We perform these operations on both sides.

We also tuck, iron and stitch the belt loops (we have 6 of them) and ties (two pieces). You can take contrasting fabric, it will look brighter and more elegant.

Step 5: take our sides and tighten the thread, adjusting them around the circumference. We left 5 cm on both sides, so we put these 5 cm of sides on top of each other and secure them with pins. We take our bottom and pin it to the sides around the circumference. For those who do not have much sewing experience, I would advise sewing with a wide stitch by hand. We sew according to ours on a machine and run a zig-zag seam along the edge so that after washing nothing gets wrinkled.

This is what we ended up with:

Step 6: take our belt loops and place 3 of them on each side panel, pinning them in place. You need to retreat 7 cm from the bottom edge. We bend the belt loops on both sides by 1 cm and sew them with a fastening seam (in front and back or with a zig-zag seam). We sew lace along the edge of our decor.

Step 7: insert the ties into each side panel and tie them into a bow, evenly straighten the gathering that we have under the ties.

That's all! Ready!

Thank you for your attention

Made from polypropylene thread

This thread is now quite popular among needlewomen and lovers of making crafts with their own hands. The thread is durable, not afraid of water, and easy to weave.

You can crochet a basket like this. It’s easy to knit: the bottom follows the granny square pattern , and then up three double crochets without any increases.

Crochet baskets

The bottom and height can be any.

At the end, double crochet a handle, attach it to the opposite side of the basket, and secure the thread.

This basket can be placed in the bathroom for cosmetics. You can even go into the forest with her if you tie her up more. And this one is suitable for a child who loves to collect mushrooms, pine cones and other gifts of nature.

A basket of newspaper tubes for beginners step by step

I came across such creativity online as weaving from newspaper tubes. I was interested and decided to try it. I have reviewed more than a dozen master classes. Externally, the products are in no way inferior to wickerwork. And for home use they are quite durable and for a gift - nice! Using various varnishes, paints and coating impregnations when weaving, you can create braids of all the colors of the rainbow. And by decorating the baskets with beads, flowers, ribbons or appliqués using the deco page technique, you can turn them into works of art. Here's what I got. You will need: 1. Newspaper sheets 2. PVA glue 3. Knitting needle 4. Scissors, stationery knife 5. Paint (acrylic), varnish (Finish varnish), alcohol-based stain (Origon, larch, lemon...) 6 .Brushes for glue and paint. 7. Basis for weaving

First, you need to determine the direction of the paper grain. The direction must be longitudinal. There are several ways to determine direction. Here's one: stretch the edges of a piece of paper between the nails of two fingers. In the transverse direction of the fibers, the edge will become wavy; in the longitudinal direction, folds will not form. Strips of this size will make thin tubes for an elegant product. If you need thicker tubes, then the width of the strips and the diameter of the knitting needles need to be increased. I paint the tubes with a brush on regular oilcloth. I only use alcohol-based stains. On the recommendation of one master class, I tried to paint the tubes with a water-based stain - it ruined everything. When wet, the gluing area separates and the tubes unfold. Don't repeat the same mistakes. Stage 1: Preparation We mark the newspaper into strips of 7 cm.

On a backing board, cut the newspaper into strips with a utility knife.

The angle of the knitting needle on the newspaper strip is 10°-15°.

You need to start winding the strip very tightly, wrapping the edge of the newspaper around the knitting needle. The tubes turn out white if the white margin of the newspaper strip is left on the right.

Secure the edge of the newspaper with glue.

At this stage, the finished tubes can be painted in the desired color if desired and allowed to dry thoroughly. You can paint the finished product afterwards. And if you cover it with paint and varnish on top, then no one will guess that this basket is made from an ordinary old magazine (newspaper).

Stage 2: Weaving We will start the work by weaving the bottom. It all depends on the size of your product. To weave the basket presented to your attention, you will need 30 (thirty) tubes 50 cm long. Take 10 tubes (hereinafter: faces) 45-50 cm long. Lay them out in pairs.

We fold the working tube in half and wrap it around the first pair of rays.

The start of work can be marked with a marker on the edge of the beam.

We braid each pair of rays with a rope. The working tubes intersect, then one working tube goes on top of the pair of rays, the other below. As soon as the length of the working tube ends, we extend it (insert the end of the next tube into the hole of the previous one).

We weave two rows until the pair of rays marked with a marker.

We weave the third and fourth row into one ray.

We direct the working tubes to the middle of the bottom.

We form the edging of the bottom. With the first ray (marked with a marker), we go around the next one, directing it to the center of the bottom and so on in a circle.

We insert the last ray from below into the loop of the first ray.

Next, we braid each ray of 4 (four) rows with a rope, slightly bending the rays from the center.

We decorate the 5th (fifth) row with wooden beads with a diameter of 16 cm. You will need 6 pieces. beads

6 (sixth) and 7 (seventh) rows, knit with a rope. The work is almost finished! All that remains is to trim the excess length of the working tubes and tuck them between the rows using a knitting needle.

We cut off the extended ends of the working tubes with scissors.

To make the handle of the basket, leave 3 (three) rays on each side, separating them with clothespins. Place a drop of glue at the base of the remaining rays and cut them off with scissors.

We connect the ends of the basket handle tubes.

Before weaving the handle, drop a drop of glue onto the edge of the tube and secure it with a clothespin. We braid the handle with a tube along the entire length.

At the end of weaving the handle, drop a drop of glue onto the end of the tube and secure it with a clothespin. The main work is finished.

Stage 3: Painting For strength, saturate the basket with PVA glue and give it the desired shape. Let the glue dry completely.

Paint the basket with white acrylic paint. (you can add color paste, different dyes or paint with stain).

We cut out the motifs from a napkin and make a page deck. Cover the basket with Finish varnish and dry the finished work.

There is nothing better than something made with your own hands. Admire it, rejoice, give it as a gift.

Question answer

Felt, non-woven fabric, newsprint, even plastic bottles will do. They are cut into squares, fastened with an awl, crocheted, secured with wire or thick threads, gradually collecting the elements into a basket.

First of all, such a basket must be left to dry completely. This will take several days. The dried product can be painted in any color of your choice and coated with transparent varnish. If you want to turn it into a gift, use decorative elements.

For younger children, there is a non-traumatic option - a frameless basket. It will be given shape by a sealant - padding polyester, non-woven fabric, an old blanket folded in several layers. Insert it between two covers, and the basket is ready for use. Kids can even use it as a playhouse.

Rules for combining colors with each other

Do you know anything about color combinations? In fact, many plants have their own pair, for example, lilies look good with lisianthus and roses, but roses and gerberas already go poorly in a bouquet. There is no need to combine plants in the same color tone with each other. Consider the color scheme of the bouquet, the degree of blooming of the bouquets, do not place bright and large flowers at the edges of the basket, as they should be in the middle of your composition. As you can see, there is nothing complicated, and you can learn how to make baskets with flowers no worse than experienced and professional florists.

You can always buy baskets of flowers or a variety of floral materials, such as plants, dried flowers, sponges in the Orange flower shop chain. The range of products in Orange is simply huge. You can always choose your own flowerpots or flowerpots, purchase a suitable basket for creating a composition, fresh flowers are also always available, and consultants will be happy to help you with the choice of goods.

What to make a flower basket from?

For floral arrangements, baskets of different sizes and materials are used. At the same time, they can be divided into:

  • Decorative bases made of artificial materials (foam plastic, penoplex, floral oasis). Flowers are stuck into a basket-shaped blank, so this option is more suitable for bouquets of sweets and artificial flowers.
  • Actually baskets and baskets. There are both classical forms and original vases in the form of an umbrella, shoes, and household items.

These options are quite within the capabilities of home craftsmen. And it’s not at all necessary to look for braided braids of the desired shape in stores. You can make durable and lightweight baskets yourself from:

  • paper;
  • cardboard boxes;
  • plastic containers;
  • natural materials (cones, branches).

The container should complement the flowers, depending on the size of the bouquet and its style.

Why do fresh flowers not fade and remain fresh in such compositions?

All thanks to the floral sponge, which transfers moisture to the flower stems:

  1. Place a plastic bag-substrate at the bottom of the container.
  2. After wetting the sponge, place it in the basket.
  3. We will trim the flower stems and stick them into the oasis.

Gift baskets for the New Year

New Year's offerings are usually filled with jars of caviar, olives, champagne or sweets, expensive cheeses and sausages, tea and coffee.
Such baskets are well suited for both women and men. Making a gift basket with your own hands

It is the design that makes such a basket an attractive and unusual gift. Usually filler is placed at the bottom of the basket. This can be thin crumpled paper, cellophane or natural shavings.

The gaps between objects can also be decorated with filler.

Most often, the tallest or most massive gifts are placed in the center or near the back wall. Smaller objects are placed on the sides in descending order of height. All items must be placed with the front side facing out.

A postcard is placed in the front, if provided.

Now you need to wrap the basket with transparent wrapping paper, cellophane or fine mesh. This will keep the gifts in the right position and give the basket a festive look.

Bright ribbons and charming bows will complement the basket

Chic paper basket

You can’t buy such a basket in a store, because everything here is thought out to the smallest detail. The beautiful combination of the delicate color of the basket with contrasting handles makes it truly unique.

We will prepare the following materials:

  • baking or kraft paper
  • two cardboard or fiberboard bases of the same size
  • skewers
  • scissors
  • glue
  • acrylic varnish or paint
  • leather belt
  • a set of fasteners consisting of nuts, screws and washers
  • awl or drill
  • marker.

We begin to make thin strips for paper and twist them as shown in the photo. Lubricate the tip of the tube with glue to secure it.

We take a cardboard base and glue tubes to it at intervals of 3-5 cm. The result should be a design similar to the one in the photo.

Glue the second piece of cardboard on top and firmly attach it. Leave to dry for several hours.

Let's start weaving, for which we bend the tube and wrap any vertical tube. Cross the ends as shown in the photo. We continue to do the same with the remaining vertical tubes. When the horizontal tubes run out, secure them with glue.

When the required height is reached, we finish weaving. To do this, we cut off the horizontal tubes, keeping about 5 cm. We remove them inside and do the same with the vertical ones.

We paint the basket with acrylic spray or paint.

To make beautiful handles, cut off the buckle and the part with holes from the belt. Then cut it into two equal ones.

On the inside we mark the location of the clamps.

We make holes with an awl, nail or drill.

We connect the handles with the washer and screws using a screwdriver.

We attach the handles to the basket so that the screw fits between the rows of weaving. We fix each of the screws from the inside.

Decorative model

This rectangular basket is made of veneer; the product has no handles, because it serves as an interior decoration. You can put various small things in the container, which will complement the aesthetics of the room; you can also store fruits or balls of thread.

Before starting the process, you need to prepare the following:

  • Sufficient quantity of veneer.
  • Scissors.
  • A few clothespins.
  • Ruler for measurements.

Stages of work:

  1. The base material is pre-soaked in water at room temperature, one hour will be enough, after which the strips are hung to drain excess liquid.
  2. At the next stage, the blanks are cut to the selected sizes; you should strictly adhere to the divisions on the ruler to avoid mistakes.
  3. For trouble-free weaving, you need to secure several strips with tape or a book, and when you reach the top, use clothespins, otherwise the craft will begin to fall apart.
  4. There is no need to cut off excess veneer from the edges, just tuck them in and make sure they are securely fastened.

From pine roots

Baskets made from the roots of coniferous trees (pine, fir, spruce) are very durable and textured. They are obtained from relatively young plants - no older than 30 years. The thickness of suitable roots is 2-6 mm, they are usually located at a depth of about one and a half meters. Roots that are literally on the surface are not suitable for work - they are difficult to split into ribbons. The easiest way to obtain material is on the steep banks of reservoirs and cliffs. The required amount is chopped off with an ax. Cut, split the roots immediately, dry in the shade, and before starting work, soak in warm water for 20-30 minutes. Weaving is similar to that made from wicker.

Colors

When choosing a color palette for decorating a basket, you should proceed from what the flower composition will be.

If you plan to use flowers of different colors, then the base should be monochromatic.

If the bouquet is simple, then the basket can be decorated in different colors.

Round bottom

This version of the bottom is used in various crafts from candy bowls to baskets. Let's look at different ways to weave it.

Option #1

We recommend that beginners get acquainted with paper wicker weaving by watching a useful video in which Olga Lagoda explains how to start weaving a round bottom. You will also learn how to calculate the number of racks for your first product.

Option No. 2

Weaving the bottom based on a cross made of 8 tubes. Take 4 tubes, stick 4 more in the middle at right angles. The result is a cross-shaped base for weaving. To work, you will need additional tubes - working ones. Lubricate the tip of one of them with glue and insert it into the second. Bend the resulting elongated tube in half.

Hug her 4 top bases. Its ends form two working tubes at once. This method of weaving is called “rope in two tubes.”

You can start braiding the base. Place the upper working pipe behind the 4 side bases, and run the lower one over them. To avoid confusion, look at the step-by-step photos.

In this way, braid the remaining warps, making a full circle.

Braid the second circle according to the same pattern, but insert working tubes for every 2 base tubes.

Make three full circles of the bottom.

Continue weaving with a rope, braiding each tube of the base. Weave the bottom until the distance between the base posts reaches 2 cm. Now the round bottom is ready.

If its size is not enough to realize your idea, you need to add additional racks

. If this is neglected, the weaving will become too loose, untidy and will not hold its shape well.

Additional stands are needed when the distance between the base tubes exceeds 2 cm

. Near each base, open a wider hole with an awl. Insert an additional tube into the hole with the sharp end, having previously lubricated it with glue.

Having finished this work, braid a couple more rows of double racks with rope. And only after that they can be pulled apart one at a time and continued, braiding each separately. Thus weave the bottom to the desired size.

Finishing the weaving is very simple: hide the ends of the working tubes in the braid, cut off the protruding ends and glue them.

Option #3

This method also requires 8 tubes. Intertwine them to form a tight cross as shown in the photos.

Take the working tube, bend it in half and wrap it around the four base tubes.

Next, weave with a rope you already know, covering four tubes of the base.

In the second row you need to braid 2 tubes. Thus, you need to complete 2-3 rows.

When the distance between the pairs of posts reaches the cherished 2 cm, they need to be carefully moved apart and continued to be braided one at a time.

Creating a laundry basket

Having gained experience, you can work on a new material - fabric, making a laundry basket out of it with your own hands. Buy a piece of metal mesh and shape it into a basket by connecting the edges and screwing them with wire. For the cover, select a piece of plain fabric 62 by 102 cm. Turn it facing inward and sew it on a machine. Make a circle with a diameter of 32 cm from the same fabric.

Stitch it together with a fabric cover, put it on the mesh, and carefully fold the upper end inward. We are preparing the same cover from elegant fabric to match your bathroom. We put it on the lower cover and decorate it with elements - lace, braid, pom-poms.

Sweet basket

Gift baskets can be made not only of fresh flowers, but also sweet ones. Unlike fresh flowers, they will retain their impeccable appearance for a long time.

In order to make such a gift you will need:

  • Wicker basket
  • Candies in wrappers
  • Long skewers
  • Glue gun
  • Corrugated paper in various colors
  • Various decorative materials

Manufacturing process

  1. Take corrugated paper and cut it into strips of medium width. We will later make buds from these strips. The width of the strips should not exceed 6 cm.
  2. After this, divide each strip into 3 equal parts. After that we cut them.
  3. We turn one third of the strip in the opposite direction 360 degrees. Thus, you should get a kind of cup for sweets. We do this with all preparations.
  4. Next, apply a few drops of glue to one side of the candy and connect the edge of the wrapper to the candy so that the ends do not stick out.
  5. Apply glue to the opposite side and attach a skewer.
  6. We begin to form a bud. To do this, take the candy on a skewer and press it tightly against the corrugated paper petal. Apply a little glue to the ends of the petal and envelop the base of the skewer. Glue two more petals to this flower. This is what we do with all the candies.
  7. We make strips 8 cm wide from green paper. To form leaves, you need to do the same as with the petals.
  8. To create the appearance of a bud, the leaf should extend to the base of the flower, and then gradually envelop the entire skewer.
  9. Next, we begin to form the basket itself. The entire surface of the basket must be tightly wrapped with corrugated paper. A piece of foam plastic is placed at the bottom. To prevent it from moving, it must be fixed with glue. We insert the prepared flowers into the foam.
  10. We decorate the finished basket with sweet flowers at our discretion. To fill the empty space between the colors, you can use green sesal. If desired, you can wrap the handle of the basket with a satin ribbon.

Pineapple boat

This small sweet gift can be made in less than half an hour. To create it you will need:

  • mini roll;
  • a pineapple;
  • strawberry;
  • banana.

You can replace the roll with marmalade, chocolate candies or marshmallows. The design of any composition is your flight of fancy.

So, cut the pineapple lengthwise. Using a thin, sharp knife, cut out the flesh of the pineapple, leaving sides about 7 mm wide.

Wash the strawberries, peel the banana and cut into slices. Cut mini rolls in the same way. The pineapple pulp can be cut arbitrarily or, if you have molds, then cut out figures.

Thread the fruit and roll into long skewers in different orders and insert tightly into the bottom of the boat. The voids in which the skewers show through can be filled with small pieces of pineapple or small grapes.

From newspaper tubes

To create such an item you will need several dozen double sheets of newspaper, a thin knitting needle, PVA glue, an empty three-liter jar or other similar round container, acrylic paints, and varnish in a can.

How it's done:

  • the newspaper is cut into strips, which are wound on a knitting needle, starting from the corner, the tip is secured with glue;
  • tubes are painted white, gray, brown, or any other color;
  • for a basket the size of a plate you will need about a hundred of these tubes, for a larger one - 200-400 pieces;
  • the tubes are folded in pairs, forming a cross, one long tube is attached to the center, folded in half, weaving is made;
  • At first, the racks are braided in twos, later - each separately;
  • after a few more rows, additional racks are glued between the main ones;
  • the product is put on the jar and weaves along it;
  • when the required height is reached, the racks are cut off, and the tubes used to weave are extended with a different color (for example, blue;
  • two more working tubes are added - glued from the inside;
  • Now it’s weaving like this: the leftmost tube is wound not under the nearest one, but under the fourth post from it;

  • the ends of all tubes are cut off and hidden;
  • To make the product rigid, it is primed with PVA glue or varnished.

Options for cardboard and paper baskets

Paper and cardboard are the most accessible and inexpensive materials for crafts. It can be easily changed in shape, so even a child can handle it. From cardboard you can make baskets of various shapes, different colors, different sizes up to dolls, baskets for themed holidays, as well as functional items.

Corrugated cardboard basket

The top layer of corrugated cardboard needs to be removed, then it will become more flexible. You can pre-paint it with any paints in the desired color. Then cut into strips 3-4 cm wide. For a medium-sized basket, cut a strip 43 cm long. This will be the rim.

For the handle you need a strip 36 cm long. For the bottom, cut four strips 28 cm long and arrange them crosswise. Glue all the parts together or fasten them with a stapler. You can decorate the basket with ribbons, bows, and paper flowers.

Basket made of newspaper tubes

The newspaper needs to be cut into strips and formed into tubes by winding them on a knitting needle. Paint them in the desired colors and dry. For an average basket you need about 100 straws. They need to be folded in pairs and formed into a cross. Attach a long tube to the center and fold it in half, using it to weave. The vertical columns are first braided two together, and then each one. After a few rows, glue several additional vertical posts.

When the height is sufficient, the stand can be cut. And the main weaving tubes are built up in a different color. Next, the weaving changes: the leftmost one needs to be wound not behind the adjacent one, but behind the fourth rack. Do the same with the next tube. Trim the ends and hide them. To prevent the basket from bending, you need to prime it with PVA glue and varnish it.

Paper basket

You will need wrapping paper. Even wallpaper will do. You need to cut ribbons out of paper, fold them several times in length and stitch them with thread. Threads need to be black or to match the color of the basket. From these blanks we begin to weave a basket by throwing strips one after another. The result is a lattice that holds its shape. To secure the manufactured product, we fasten it with silicone glue.

Wicker

The oldest type of basket is made of twigs. They are selected by bending. If they don't break, the rod is ready. They are first soaked in cold water for at least 14 days, changing the water every day. You can soak it in boiling water: pour it over the rods and boil for two hours. The result will be beautiful material, bright and shiny vines. Weave a basket, starting from the base, according to the old grandfather’s method.

By starting to create baskets for your home, you can solve problems with laundry and toys, save money, get rid of old things, giving them a new life, and get positive emotions from the results of your work.

How to make a paper basket

To make a paper basket, you need to have with you:

  • cardboard;
  • glue;
  • ruler;
  • pencil;
  • empty flower pot;
  • stapler;
  • wire for the frame of a paper basket;
  • any paper decorations in the form of bows, ribbons (optional).

The first thing to start with is to draw the cardboard from the wrong side into strips of equal length and thickness and cut them out. Next, take the pot and two strips, fasten them at the intersection with a stapler.

Then we apply other strips at equal distances and fix them with glue. To ensure that our bottom is fixed, we thread a separate strip through one ribbon around the entire perimeter.

Next, as you can see in the photo above, take the wire and carefully bend it to the shape of the pot. The edges of the cardboard strips envelop the wire, which is also fixed with glue.

Tip: so that the structure does not fall apart, and the cardboard strips always keep their shape, secure them with tape during their formation.

Next, you can begin horizontal weaving. Everything is very simple: take a cardboard strip, thread it under one of the vertical ones, then over the other, and so on.

When the row is completed, everything needs to be secured with glue, and at the end of the row, either cut the strip and hide its ends, or tie it into a bow. To diversify the color scheme of the basket, you can use paper of several colors.

It could be:

  • Bucket.
  • Taz.
  • Sick.

Stages of work:

  1. With the help of such an additional template, it is quite easy to maintain neat and precise shapes, which will significantly highlight the finished product in the bathroom.
  2. Looking at a craft, it is very difficult to distinguish it from factory-made products, which is why most handicraft lovers prefer this solution.
  3. The process becomes easier; beginners in independent weaving will be able to verify this from their own experience.
  4. After securing the rows, you just need to pull out the template and attach the handles.
  5. Leather inserts in the form of loops will perfectly complement the design.
