What is the quick wash mode in a washing machine?

Modern automatic washing machines have extensive built-in functionality.

The devices are already equipped with the most popular programs, which are very convenient to use. Among the popular modes is “quick wash” in various variations.

This is exactly what a modern dynamic person needs. We'll talk more about the Quick wash mode in a washing machine in the article.

How long does it last?

The accelerated washing function is available in almost any automatic washing machine (SMA) - Bosch, Ariston, Indesit, Beko, Electrolux, Kandy, Samsung and many others. This program is one of the most popular among owners of automatic washing machines. It is good for the following conditions:

  • things are slightly dirty and do not need intensive processing;
  • Only a few items are washed at the same time - in a large amount of water.

How many minutes the program lasts depends on the specific brand and model. Super fast lasts 15 minutes. This mode can be found in the latest models. People are in a hurry, the pace of life is accelerating, and SMA manufacturers are trying to satisfy the aspirations of busy consumers. In most machines, the duration of this program is 30–40 minutes. How can you reduce time? Thanks to a reduction in the number of water heating, washing and spinning cycles, as well as due to the absence of additional rinsing.

Installation features, possible startup problems

Selecting a quick wash mode is an easy task. For many models, this program is displayed separately, so it is easy to set.

If the wash does not start after pressing start, you should pay attention to the display of the machine or to the indicators if the machine does not have a display. It often happens that through self-diagnosis, the washing machine itself will tell you what the problem is. The system of fault codes is described in the instructions for each device.

Frequent failures include overload, underload, and door not closing tightly. Based on the error code, in most cases you can even correct the situation yourself and get things working properly.

If the washing machine does not turn on, you can restart it . This is done as follows: the device is disconnected from the network (the plug is pulled out of the socket), and after a quarter of an hour it is plugged back into the network. This method will help if the failure was a one-time one.

If you cannot fix the problem on your own, you must contact a company that repairs washing machines.

Flaws

  • The mode is not suitable for all things. Does not remove complex or old stains.
  • Not suitable for washing towels and bed linen.
  • The rotation of the drum is quite fast, the process is intense - you cannot load delicate items for which hand washing is recommended.
  • Drum loading is 50%. Since the water is not hot, the powder particles do not dissolve intensively enough. If you load the drum completely, the laundry will not be rinsed properly.

What to do to make the material shrink

Cotton often stretches when worn. A striking example of this is jeans, whose material is denim, which is made from cotton. Washing will help return it to its original size.

In the washing machine

Items made from medium weight fabric are washed at 60°C, thick cotton – at 90°C. To make it sit down, set the maximum number of revolutions. It can be either 900 rpm or 1200. The built-in dryer won’t hurt either. Hot air will greatly promote shrinkage.

Manually

Shrinkage may also occur when hand washed. To do this, after rinsing, add boiling water and conditioner to the container. Cover the container with a lid or bag and leave for 5-7 minutes. Then the items are thoroughly rinsed in cold water and wrung out.

Is it possible to wash in this mode all the time?

Seduced by the efficiency of the process and the saving of all resources - water, powder, electricity, some users begin to wash on a high speed setting all the time. But this threatens to create a musty smell in the tank. From time to time the machine should be washed in hot water to prevent mold and mildew from growing. These microorganisms like to settle in the hatch cuff, and they are the cause of the unpleasant odor in the machine. And most importantly, then these microorganisms end up on clothes and underwear that will come into contact with the human body.

Got a musty smell? This means that the process of reproduction of mold colonies has begun - it’s time to start a cycle with hot water.

Washing rules

  • Be sure to sort your laundry by fabric type and color. It is convenient to do this in advance by dividing the dirty laundry basket into compartments (plastic dividers are sold in hardware stores). This way you will save time and will be spared the need to dig through dirty laundry.
  • Be careful when choosing a detergent . It is optimal to have in your home not only general-purpose powder, but also detergents for wool and silk, sports and membrane fabrics, as well as bleach. It is enough to turn black items inside out before washing, as modern dyes do not fade so easily.
  • Try to choose the right washing mode , temperature and spin speed. As already mentioned, it is necessary to focus on the labels that clothing manufacturers always supply their products with, but if such information is not available, you can use the recommendations above.
  • Use fabric softener - it will make your towels soft and your bed linen can be ironed easily. If you use specialized products when washing wool or silk, rinse aid is usually not used.
  • Keep in mind: if you wash only at low temperatures, the machine may “bloom” , that is, black mold will appear in it, and a putrid smell will appear, which will be transmitted to the laundry. To prevent this from happening, thoroughly dry the detergent tray, wipe the rubber gaskets between the drum door and the machine body, and wash at high temperature at least once a month.

How many degrees?

If your shirts and blouses are completely clean, you just need to eliminate the smell of sweat, then just wash them in water heated to 30–40 degrees. Experienced housewives recommend a procedure that allows you to achieve maximum savings and at the same time efficiently wash even heavily soiled items:

  • Soak dirty items for 15–20 minutes.
  • Take laundry soap and rub it on the stained areas.
  • Wring things out - without much effort, and load them into the drum. Launch super fast mode.

As a result, you can wash even very dirty laundry efficiently. If we acted as standard, we would have to set “Cotton”, and even choose hotter water - 90 degrees, since things are dirty. But if you are smart, you can save a lot of money and do a good wash. Don't forget about mold though - you still need hot cycles from time to time.

Additional functions

Most modern models of automatic machines contain a large set of additional functions that help solve all problems and satisfy the various requirements of housewives.

Delay mode

A convenient way to turn on the washing machine before going to work and take out the finished clothes when you come home in the evening. At the same time, they will not wait for the owner in the drum for several hours, already washed (crumpled and compressed).

It is important to load the detergent completely and set the clock to a delay start mode.

You need to read the instructions for the washing machine. First we set the current time and then program it for the desired turn-on time.

Night

When using the night mode, the sound signal is turned off, as well as the spin cycle, which is noisy and can wake up household members and neighbors.

Water level control

When monitoring the required amount of water, the machine itself decides how much liquid to pour into the drum based on the weight and volume of the load in order to better wash and rinse things.

Spin balancing

The mode ensures uniform distribution of laundry during spinning and, if necessary, slows down the rotation of the drum by adjusting the speed. A very convenient tool for heavy loads, it prevents excessive vibration and movement of the device from its place.

Water clarity control

This mode is convenient to use for children's clothing and if household members are allergic to detergents. The machine determines whether the items have been rinsed sufficiently or whether the water is not clear enough and contains soap. If necessary, perform additional rinsing.

Spin

The function allows you to simply spin out wet items by selecting the spin force (rpm). You can quickly spin out hand-washed items, as well as those that did not leave the machine dry enough.

Drain

This function allows for simple (without additional operations) removal of water from the drum. For example, when a program crashes and things are retrieved.

Rinse and drain

A convenient way to simply rinse things and drain the water. Can be used if bad powder remains on the laundry after washing and rinsing.

Disabling spin

It is necessary to turn off the spin cycle when washing many items. For example, it is recommended not to wring linen items to avoid severe creasing, which makes ironing difficult. The machine simply washes, rinses and drains the water.

Extra rinse

The function allows you to rinse things more efficiently by adding water again and performing a full rinse cycle.

Easy ironing

Things wrinkle in the drum, mainly when spinning at high speeds. This mode (anti-crease protection) makes the push-up less aggressive and reduces the drum rotation speed. The laundry wrinkles less, but is less dry. You will have to dry it yourself, but it will be easier to iron.

Foam control

Excess foam does not affect the quality of washing, but simply clogs things with excess detergents. In this mode, excess foam formed during spinning and deposited on things is removed from the drum using a special pump.

Troubleshooting

A convenient feature that allows the washing module to identify its own problems. The operation of various parts of the device is tested and a fault code is displayed. The instructions usually indicate what problem the code corresponds to and how to fix it.

How is it designated?

CMA manufacturers like to use symbols for options on the control panel. Moreover, each brand tries to come up with its own signs - either understandable, or attractive graphically, or rather, both. So, for example, flowers, suns, feathers are in use... What icon indicates express mode? In the table we provide a description of the symbols of the program in question for the most popular brands.

Brands are “divided into two camps”: some draw watches, others simply sign the function. The inscription is clearer. The watch can give rise to different thoughts - for example, about a delayed start. Therefore, carefully read the instructions before using washing equipment.

Preliminary

The cotton pre-wash mode involves processing items before the main wash. It should be activated in the following cases:

  • things are very dirty;
  • there are stubborn stains on the products;
  • Clothes emit persistent unpleasant odors.

Prewash is compatible with the Cotton programme. Features of the mode:

  1. The water temperature at the pre-wash stage is 30 degrees. If higher heating has been set, the heating element is activated at the main stage.

  2. The maximum time is 2 hours, but most often this stage lasts about 50 minutes.
  3. Washing powder should be poured into section number 1.
  4. Liquid detergents are not used for pre-washing, as they will simply flow into the drum in the first minutes of starting the program.

Activating the prewash always increases the operating time of the machine. That is, about an hour will be spent on the initial processing of things, after which the main program will start working. This results in greater consumption of detergents, water and electricity.

Pre-washing is not recommended for cleaning items that are subject to heavy shedding.

Choosing a detergent

It’s not enough to know how to wash a T-shirt

Equally important is information on how to choose a detergent. Basic selection rules:

  • If you are using sti

    ral powder, then choose it depending on the type of washing (it can be manual or machine). If you wash both by hand and by machine, you can choose a universal powder.

  • Products are available for different types of fabrics, such as delicates, wool or colours. It is best to be fully prepared and have several options in stock to wash any item without consequences.

Washing powder is not the only and in some cases not the best option. Its granules can corrode thin or delicate materials. To avoid such troubles, purchase a liquid detergent composition. Concentrated gels are especially effective. Some of them can be used for both hand and machine washing.

A stain remover will help get rid of heavy stains. But the products belonging to this category are very aggressive, so their choice should be approached responsibly. The best option is an oxygen stain remover, which contains special components that release oxygen and literally break down stains into small particles.

On which SMA is it installed?

The “Cotton” mode is included in the list of main programs, so it is provided on all modern SMA models:

  • ;
  • Samsung;
  • Indesit;
  • Bosch;
  • Candy and more.
