The BOSCH oven, the instructions for which are posted on our website, is distinguished by its impeccable operation, its pleasant design and excellent functionality.
The ovens of this brand are very reliable and high quality, cooking turns into a real holiday. The instructions for the BOSCH oven are freely available on our website. Download and read any operating manuals for BOSCH ovens.

What is a grill

All ovens operate on the same principle: hot air circulates inside a closed chamber, under the influence of which food is cooked. This process is called convection.

The grill in the oven is an additional heating element. It is usually located at the top of the device and serves to create a higher temperature. Grilled dishes have a crispy crust, while remaining tender and juicy inside.

At the bottom of the gas oven there is a burner for quickly heating the chamber, and at the top there is a grill. Older gas stoves do not have a convection mode, so the oven door has to be opened to create a slight draft. Modern models, in addition to the built-in fan, are equipped with an additional device - a spit. This device allows you to fry food evenly on all sides.

In electric ovens, two types of heaters are used to create a grill effect: electric with an electric coil and infrared with a halogen lamp.

Each type of oven has its advantages. Gas is usually cheaper. Electric heats up more evenly, dishes burn less often, and the temperature is more accurately regulated. Therefore, to equip the kitchen, many housewives choose a combined device - a gas stove with an electric oven. Infrared heaters are considered the safest and most economical - they warm up and cool down faster.

As for the choice of products, there are no restrictions: everything that is grilled outdoors can be put in the home oven.

Review of the electric oven Hotpoint-Ariston FD 61.1/HA

In connection with the purchase of new kitchen furniture, the question of purchasing a new hob and oven became acute. My family chose the Hotpoint-Ariston FD 61.1/HA electric oven for quite common reasons, including a pleasant and neat appearance, as well as recommendations from a sales assistant from a household appliance store.

Before purchasing this oven, none of my family members were familiar with such equipment - we used a standard stove with a gas oven. And, having trusted the products of a well-known manufacturer of household appliances, neither I nor anyone in my household regretted their choice.

Hotpoint-Ariston FD 61.1/HA is an independent oven that is not connected to the hob and can be built above the countertop, under it or in a separate cabinet. An independent oven can be built into the furniture at chest level, which is very convenient - you don’t have to constantly bend over to take something out or put it in the oven. I didn’t experiment and installed it in the most common place - under the countertop.

Your kitchen furniture must be designed to accommodate an electric oven. The materials from which the niche and panels adjacent to the oven are made must be made of heat-resistant material. If the furniture contains elements veneered with wood, then the glue used to attach them must be resistant to high temperatures.

General view of the oven

Installation features and technical specifications

Before installing the oven, a separate outlet was installed to power the cabinet, which is connected to grounding and designed for the maximum power consumption of the oven. I also replaced the mains fuse for the kitchen area with a stronger one. In the kitchen, in addition to the cabinet, which can consume up to 4 kW per hour, there is a refrigerator, microwave and TV. With a 25 A fuse, all equipment simultaneously works without problems for the home network.

The installation and connection of the oven was carried out by a representative of the service center. In principle, it was possible to connect the oven yourself, but then the warranty on the equipment would expire, so we had to wait two days for the technician to arrive.

Technical characteristics of the Hotpoint-Ariston FD61.1/HA oven:

  • Oven type: independent, multifunctional electric oven - 6 heating modes, 5 levels for positioning the baking sheet and racks, timer with end-of-cooking signal, rotary switches, tangential ventilation system, 3 glass oven doors, internal lighting, standard guides, double-circuit grill.
  • Heating elements: upper, lower, round (located in the rear wall).
  • Useful volume: 56 l.
  • Maximum temperature: 240 °C.
  • Energy efficiency class: A.
  • Oven door design: hinged.
  • Accessories: one baking tray and two wire racks.
  • Dimensions (height x width x depth): 59.5 x 59.5 x 54.5 cm.

These dimensions are considered the most common. When I ordered kitchen furniture, I did not know what kind of oven it would be. I was told that the dimensions of the niche for built-in would be made standard, and indeed the cabinet fit perfectly into place.

General operating rules

The technician from the service center recommended that when turning on the oven for the first time, it should be heated for about an hour at maximum temperature with the door closed. Then turn off the oven, open the door and ventilate the kitchen area. He said there may be an odor caused by evaporation of substances used to protect the oven's interior. I carried out this procedure, but there were no third-party odors, except for the smell of heated metal.

Control panel on which the program selection, thermostat and timer knobs are located

In general terms, the oven control process is as follows:

  • select the desired cooking program using the “Programs” knob;
  • select the temperature using the “Thermostat” regulator;
  • During the cooking process, you can change the cooking program at any time using the “Program” knob, as well as change the temperature using the “Thermostat” knob, or interrupt cooking by turning the “Program” knob to position “0”.

Thermostat

Using the thermostat control, you select the temperature you need. On the left side of the control panel is the thermostat indicator. When it lights up, it means the oven is heating to the desired temperature. When it turns off, it means that the oven has reached the set temperature.

Timer

To start the timer, you need to turn the handle clockwise one turn. To set the required time, turn the handle back to the selected mark. The timer counts down the time: after the set time has elapsed, a sound signal sounds.

The most important thing is that in this model the timer does not control turning the oven on or off; you must do this. It will help you maintain the exact cooking time.

Programs

Let us consider in detail all the modes that can be selected using the “Programs” knob. We will move clockwise, starting from the top.

Oven lighting. Turns on the light in the oven, for example, to clean it. When any program is running, the oven light is always on.

Traditional oven. There are two heating elements: lower and upper. I use this mode to prepare baked chicken - I place the washed and pre-marinated carcass in a light aluminum baking sheet with high edges, set the temperature to 180 ° C, and after one and a half to two hours everything is ready. During the cooking process, you need to remove the baking sheet several times in order to pour the released juice over the chicken. A home-cooked dish is no worse than those grilled chickens that are offered at every turn. Moreover, you marinate the product yourself as you wish and can be sure of the “age” of the chicken.

To use the “traditional oven” mode, the baking tray is placed on the third level

Simultaneous cooking. The following heating elements are turned on - top, bottom and round, as well as a fan, with the help of which constant and uniform heat is achieved throughout the cabinet. This ensures uniform cooking and browning of the product.

No more than two oven levels can be used at the same time. It is not recommended to use the first and fifth levels: they are exposed to direct hot air, which can burn delicate products. It is best to use the second and fourth levels, and the second should be used to place products that require more intense heat.

Arrangement of grates for the “simultaneous cooking” mode

Grill. The upper heating element turns on.

Upper heating element

High temperature and direct grill heat are recommended for cooking foods that require high surface temperatures. Thanks to the high temperature, the food quickly browns, acquires a beautiful crispy crust, while remaining tender and juicy inside. The grill is suitable for cooking steaks, fish, toast.

When using this mode, it is recommended to set only the maximum temperature. The grid is installed on the third or fourth level, the product is placed in the center. Place a baking tray on the first level to collect the liquid released during frying.

Grill and pan position for grilling

Casserole. When using it, it is not recommended to exceed the temperature of 200 °C. The top heating element and fan are operating. Such conditions combine unidirectional heat generation with forced air circulation inside the oven. This prevents the surface of the food from burning, increasing the penetration of heat.

Pizza. The lower and round heating elements and the fan are turned on. This combination allows you to quickly preheat the oven with a stronger release of heat from below. If several levels are used at the same time, it is necessary to change places of dishes in the middle of cooking. From my own experience: it is better to cook pizza on a lightweight aluminum baking sheet, placing it on a standard grill. This will reduce the baking time. It is better to add cheese in the middle of baking.

Confectionery baked goods. The round heating element and fan turn on. This ensures moderate and uniform heat inside the oven. This function is recommended for preparing yeast doughs that require rising and small baked goods on three levels simultaneously.

The photo below shows a curler with a poppy. There is only one left - his “brothers” have already been eaten.

To reduce the temperature around the oven while it is operating, it is equipped with a cooling fan. The cold air flow enters through the supply channel from the bottom up, pushing the hot air into the air duct above the door and preventing the surrounding furniture and electronics from heating up. Once cooking is complete, the fan continues to operate until the oven has cooled down properly.

Cleaning the oven

External and internal enameled elements, as well as stainless steel parts and rubber seals, can be wiped with a sponge soaked in warm water or a solution of neutral detergent. To remove particularly difficult stains, use special cleaning products.

After cleaning, it is recommended to carefully remove any remaining detergent with a damp cloth and dry the oven. Do not use abrasive powders or corrosive substances. The interior of the oven should be cleaned after each use, without waiting until it has completely cooled down. Use warm water and detergent, rinse and wipe with a soft cloth.

Never use steam or high pressure cleaning units.

Use non-abrasive sponges and cleaners to clean the door glass, then wipe dry with a soft cloth. Do not use hard materials or sharp metal scrapers, which may scratch the surface and break the glass.

Keep the seals in good and clean condition, check that they fit tightly to the door and do not allow heat leaks.

Seals are in good condition

Tips for safe use

  • This electric oven is intended for non-professional use at home.
  • To reduce possible electric shock, do not handle this product with wet hands, bare feet, or wet feet.
  • During operation of the product, the heating elements and some parts of the oven door become very hot. Care should be taken to avoid contact with these parts and children should not be allowed near the oven.
  • Make sure that the power cords of other household electrical appliances do not touch hot parts of the oven.
  • Do not block ventilation grilles or heat dissipation openings.
  • Always use oven mitts or grips when placing or removing food from the oven.
  • Make sure that the control knobs are in position "0" when the oven is not in use.
  • Do not place heavy objects on an open oven door.
  • Never place objects on the bottom of the oven as they may damage the enamel coating.
  • In the event of a malfunction, it is strictly forbidden to open the internal mechanisms of the product for the purpose of repairing them yourself. For any questions, please contact the service center

Summary

I have been using this oven for three years and can note the following advantages:

  • ease of operation;
  • excellent work in the “traditional oven” and “pastry baking” modes, which are most in demand in my family.

The disadvantages of this model include the following:

  • when using the “grill” mode, some of the fat and juice bypass the tray located below and end up on the walls and bottom of the oven - it can take up to one hour to clean thoroughly;
  • Putting the door back in place after a thorough wash is not the easiest process - it requires the efforts of two people, although removing it is not difficult for one person.

Cutting line :)Manipulation marks on packaging

Handling marks on the packaging provide information on the contents. Such information will help prevent damage during transportation, warehousing and storage. The markings on the packaging are varied. Symbols and codes applied to the surface of the container have a meaning approved by GOST. Designations on containers in the form of icons are divided into warning and informational. Their meaning is the same throughout the world.

Man. signs on the boxes suggest that forklifts must be operated according to regulations. Inscriptions and labels carry useful information about the product, its quality, and how to dispose of it.

Backlight

The icons for this function are a light bulb in a square. Such designations clearly indicate that the camera is comfortable to use with this function, and all its contents inside are clearly visible. This helps to further visually monitor the cooking process.

Additional characters

In addition to the main ones, any oven, especially the brands Ariston, Zanussi, Samsung, Electrolux, has additional icons that tell about the additional capabilities of the unit.

The simultaneous operation of the lower and ring heaters together with the fan allows you to easily prepare pizza in Ariston, Bosch, Elektrolux, Zanussi, Gorenje ovens. This function is symbolically depicted as an easily recognizable pizza.

  • By interacting the top, bottom and ring heaters together with the fan, the oven allows you to cook large dishes, for example, leg of lamb, suckling pig. This mode is also used to place several trays of pies in the chamber. They especially require uniform temperature distribution at all levels. This function is endowed not only with the Siemens oven, but also with Gorenje, Ariston, Bosch, Elektrolux, Zanussi, as can be seen in the photo.
  • Quick Heat, which is a symbol with wavy vertical lines and arrows at the bottom, helps save time by reaching the desired temperature up to 50% in a short time. In this case, all heating elements are used simultaneously, which allows you to avoid wasting excess energy. The oven can automatically switch to the selected mode or it can be set manually.
  • Heating ceramic cookware helps food stay hot longer. The “hot air 3D” mode with a temperature setting of 30-65°C will help you take advantage of this function. When the temperature reaches the required value, the screen will show the “stack of plates” symbol.

Learning to “read” these icons is easy. You only need to use the oven a few times, and then the designations will quickly be remembered.

Modern ovens delight their owners with an abundance of useful modes and functions. But understanding them can be not so easy, especially when you have to read not advertising brochures, but small icons on the control panel. The pictograms around rotary knobs, on buttons and even on touch screens are numerous and varied - so you won’t remember them all the first time, much less figure out what they mean. Of course, you should first read the instructions for your oven model, but sometimes it may not contain the answer to this simple question.

Designations often differ depending on what type of control is implemented in a particular model. Therefore, we will divide them into groups according to the same principle to make it easier to navigate.

Decoding the modes on the Ariston washing machine

Modern Ariston washing machines contain a detailed list of programs on the detergent cuvette, and their serial numbers are indicated around the selector. Old-style Ariston washing machines had a number of symbols, to decipher which you had to refer to the instructions. Regardless of the year of manufacture, Ariston equipment has the following programs.

  • Cotton (icon with a picture of a cotton boll). There are three types of program. Cotton 90°C is used for heavily soiled items with maximum spin and is performed for 165 minutes. For colored cotton fabrics, use the Cotton 60°C program for 140 minutes. The third mode, Cotton 40°C, is intended for lightly soiled cotton materials and runs for one and a half hours.
  • Synthetics (icon with a picture of a flask). It is performed at temperatures from 40°C to 60°C and lasts from 80 to 85 minutes. Used for washing synthetic items (nylon, acrylic, etc.).
  • Mix 30 or express wash 30 – quick wash at 30°C for half an hour for lightly soiled materials.
  • Mix 15 or Express Mode 15 is a fifteen minute quick cycle to freshen up your daily essentials.
  • Antibacterial. At a temperature of 90°C and a duration of 165 minutes, items with stubborn stains are washed. The temperature of 60°C is intended for colored laundry. Duration – 80 minutes.
  • Night. Intended for operation at night; all spin stages are excluded. The equipment consumes less electricity by heating water up to 40°C. Duration – 290 minutes. Used for washing synthetic or cotton fabrics.
  • Shirts (the icon represents the corresponding item). For shirts made of various fabrics at 40°C to prevent them from fading.
  • White things. For light fabrics at 60°C and maximum spin.
  • Dark things. To prevent fading, a low temperature of 30°C is used.
  • Feather. For filled blankets or jackets, feather icon. Washing occurs at 30°C; during washing, the filler is prevented from clumping into one large lump.
  • Children's room. Delicate mode at 40°C in plenty of water. Cycle duration is 110 minutes. Thanks to several additional cycles, detergent residues are reliably washed out of clothes.
  • Wool. (Image of balls of wool). For wool and cashmere products. The peculiarity of the mode is the slow rotation of the drum. Reduced spin. Duration – almost an hour, temperature – 40°C.
  • Silk. For lace products, viscose, curtains and other items made of thin fabrics. There is no spin. The water heats up to 30°C. Completion time is just under an hour.
  • Jeans (icon depicting the corresponding item of clothing) - for washing denim items at a temperature of no more than 40°C to prevent color loss. Only liquid detergent is used.

Choosing cookware for baking

The baking trays that come with the oven are convenient to use only if you are cooking a lot at once, for example, baking meat and potatoes for guests, whole poultry, or making cookies. They are too big for everyday cooking and difficult to clean.

There is a huge selection of baking dishes of different sizes. There is one for every dish: round ones with a split design for biscuits, glass and ceramic ones for casseroles, meatballs in sauce and roasts, silicone ones for muffins.

Foil, sleeves and baking bags are ideal when you need to cook a dish in its own juices. There is nothing easier than throwing chicken pieces into a bag, sprinkle with spices and put in the oven. In addition, you don’t need to wash the baking sheet from grease afterwards, and the dishes will turn out healthier.

Labeling of plastic containers

Everyone uses plastic containers and other items made from such material. Recycling is required after use. Plastic bottles and other items require special signs. These are triangles, rings. They indicate the processing method, the class of plastic (food, industrial). All this must be taken into account. Markings can be placed anywhere on the surface.

7 main types of plastic:

The presence of an icon in the form of closing arrows implies the possibility of recycling. Designations in the form of icons of this type indicate the class of the material - it is a secondary raw material.

How to wash items marked “dry clean only” by hand?

Pay close attention to the tags on your clothes - it’s very easy to ruin your favorite item.

If the manufacturer indicates dry clean only on the item’s label, then you must use the following algorithm:

  1. In a basin or other container you need to take a little cold water from the tap and add detergent. It is better to use special products for delicate fabrics or woolen items. But if you don’t have these funds, then you can dissolve a piece of laundry soap.
  2. You need to shake the water a little until a little foam appears and put the previously prepared laundry in the basin. Then remove and dip the clothes in water several times, rubbing the contaminated areas of the fabric with light hand movements. Finally, the item must be thoroughly rinsed in cold water until the soap solution completely disappears.
  3. Remove all excess water from washed laundry. This can be done as follows: place washed clothes on a terry towel, roll it up and press lightly with your hands. Then unfold the towel back and transfer the delicate item to a dry area - roll it up again and lightly press the fabric. This operation must be performed until the water stops draining.
  4. Place properly wrung out laundry on a flat horizontal surface and leave until completely dry. Items made from stiff fabrics can be dried on a hanger - this will retain their original shape. It should be remembered that brushes and other devices cannot be used in this type of clothing cleaning.

Device

The modern design of the dishwasher ensures the removal of almost all contaminants from the surface. At the same time, dishwashers are safe to use, and the likelihood of flooding is low. Design features include the following:

  • Hotpoint-Ariston is a rectangular model, the inside of which is made of stainless steel.
  • The internal space is intended for installing baskets in which dishes are placed. They are made of stainless steel. Proper placement of dishes improves cleaning efficiency.
  • To control the washing procedure, several different sensors are located inside. They determine the temperature and amount of water. Taking into account the basic parameters, a suitable program is selected.
  • The main components are represented by a pump, nozzles, a heating element, a fan and some other elements.

Using the dishwasher is easy due to the installation of an electrical control unit.

Scheme

The model under consideration belongs to the built-in type equipment. The operating instructions, which are included in the package, are in Russian. This document shows a diagram of a dishwasher. The unit consists of the following elements:

  • Upper basket for storing fragile dishes.
  • Top sprayer - designed to spray water efficiently.
  • A device that is responsible for adjusting the position of the upper basket.
  • Lower basket - often used to place large dishes made of durable material.
  • Bottom sprayer - provides water supply at different angles.
  • Container for salt. The effectiveness of the procedure can be increased by using a special substance. It significantly reduces water hardness.
  • Filter element - designed to separate impurities.
  • Dispenser for detergents and various additives.

Built-in gas oven with or without convector

Most housewives prefer gas stoves and this is not without reason, because gas is cheaper than electricity. So what is convection? This is a regular gas oven, supplemented by a fan, usually powered by electricity.

Despite the fact that a stove with convection costs an order of magnitude more than a conventional one, it is best to give preference to it. A special icon will help you find out whether the gas oven you have chosen is equipped with the required function. It will also indicate what kind of convection in the stove: enhanced, with a contour or wet.

What does the convection icon look like?

There are special icons on the front panel of the oven that indicate all its functions. They are quite simple and straightforward. So the heating elements are marked with a dash, and the convector looks like a fan or an airplane propeller, so it’s not at all difficult to guess what kind of sign this is.

Tabletop electric oven with convector

Despite the fact that an electric oven with a fan often has two heating elements at once (top and bottom), it also has a significant drawback - uneven cooking. Baked goods, as well as other dishes, burn from the bottom and the far wall. To avoid such a result, the housewife has to constantly change the sides of the baking sheet and turn the dish itself over.

Convection in an electric oven will not only help avoid such troubles, but will also give the baked goods a rosy glow. Thanks to the fan, the heat in the oven spreads evenly, and not just around the edges. This is what allows you to get excellent results even when preparing several dishes at the same time.

Combined oven: grill and convector

The grill function has long been known to all housewives. But a grill with a convector is a completely new concept. The oven with convection and grill has the following advantages:

Symbols on the Hotpoint-Ariston dishwasher

With the dishwasher hooked up, the next step is starting up. Before pressing the start button, you need to understand the icons on the Hotpoint-Ariston dishwasher. The instructions included with the dishwasher will help you with this; if nothing is clear in it, then we’ll try to figure it out together.

Location of buttons and icons

Various types of dishwashers are produced under the Hotpoint-Ariston brand, and the location of the panel with buttons and icons will depend on the type. Of course, most often on built-in models, all buttons and indicators are located on top of the door end. And there is no need to take them out to the front part.

It's a completely different matter if it's a freestanding dishwasher, because it has a panel with buttons and icons on the front of the door. Buttons may be labeled, but not in Russian. Therefore, without explanations and instructions, it can be difficult to understand. It’s good if these are intuitive symbols, for example, an image of a pan, an asterisk. And if not? Let's take a closer look at all the icons.

PMM Ariston badges

It must be said that the signs on the Ariston dishwasher are not the most difficult to decipher, and they are remembered quite easily. We will try to describe all the buttons that can be found on dishwashers of this brand.

  • The protruding first key is the PMM power button.
  • The button with the letter “P” (from English program) is the program selection.
  • The indicator with the letter “S” (from the English word salt) informs about the presence of salt in the dishwasher.
  • An indicator with crosses, like sparks from the shine of dishes, indicates the presence of rinse aid.
  • Pots and plates with three horizontal lines - washing mode with intense water pressure, the duration of which is approximately 2 hours 25 minutes.
  • Pots and plates without lines - standard wash cycle lasting 1 hour 50 minutes.
  • A plate crossed out with two wavy lines indicates a pre-rinse of 8 minutes.
  • Three wavy lines – pre-soak, lasting 12 minutes.
  • “ECO 50” is an ecological washing mode at a temperature of 50 degrees, and the longest time is 2 hours 35 minutes.
  • The plate with the inscription “R” is the fastest mode or express wash. With this mode, the machine will wash no more than 10 items of lightly soiled dishes in 25 minutes.
  • Square with a fraction of ½ – half load mode, thereby reducing the time for washing dishes.
  • Pots and glasses - automatic double wash, in which you can wash pots in the lower basket, and glassware in the upper, duration 1 hour 48 minutes.
  • A plate with spoon and fork is an everyday sink with a limited load. For example, 4 sets of dishes, 1 saucepan and 1 frying pan. The duration of the mode is about an hour.
  • A plate with vertical lines, one dotted and two wavy – this is the “Guests” mode. It is suitable for dusty, rarely used dishes for the purpose of rinsing them. Lasts 32 minutes.
  • Glasses – delicate mode, for example for crystal. Dishes are washed at low temperature for 1 hour 30 minutes.
  • Baby bottle with pacifier - the so-called “Baby” mode, in which only the upper basket is loaded. You can disinfect bottles, pacifiers, baby rings, cups, glasses. Duration 1 hour 20 minutes.

The oven is like a furnace: the principle of operation of the new mode

There is a special button on the stove panel for this purpose. After pressing it, the fan turns on, which accelerates the air flow, thereby helping to warm up the oven faster.

The convection mode in the oven undoubtedly has its advantages. One of them is improved air circulation, which allows you to achieve the desired results with a minimum of effort. Consider in comparison:

  • in a conventional oven, with a baking sheet inserted, the bottom of the dish burns, but the top is not yet ripening;
  • In an oven with a fan, even several inserted baking sheets will not interfere with the uniform cooking of any dish, including baked goods.

The nuances of repairing Bosch ovens

Bosch brand appliances are famous for their quality and reliability, however, there are situations when the device breaks down and requires repair.

After the warranty period has passed, in the event of a malfunction of the oven, repairs can be carried out independently, and the nature of the failure can be determined using self-diagnosis of the device.

A variety of models allows you to choose a Bosch oven in accordance with the selection criteria and personal preferences of the user

To determine a malfunction, the manufacturer programs the devices in such a way that if there is a malfunction, an error code corresponding to the malfunction appears on the display. The main error codes and their causes are shown in the following table.

Specificationsinexpensive21 000
35 000
98 000

Er3Oven overheating.
Er8Malfunctions in internal electrical circuits.
E005The protective relay does not work.
E011Sticking buttons or control sensors.
E115The temperature in the frying chamber exceeds the permissible values.
E305Inconsistency of internal electronic control devices.

Repair of Bosch brand household appliances, of course, can be performed by a person who understands electronics, but for the average user, the best solution to this issue would be to contact the company’s service center or another organization specializing in the repair of household appliances.

Control methods

The designation of oven icons depends to some extent on the control method. The method of presenting the pointer also differs.

Mechanical – here the number of marks is minimal. It is mandatory to indicate the degrees on the corresponding handle. The timer indicates intervals in minutes. And in order to accurately set the mode of an electric oven with mechanical control, symbols indicating operating parameters are placed around the handle.

Electronic-mechanical - the difference here lies in the accuracy of setting the parameters. Both temperature and time are set with greater accuracy. The symbols in Ariston, Bosch, and Electrolux are almost the same.

Touch - here symbols appear on the display of an electrical device - Bosch, Samsung, one by one, as a rule, this is an LED symbol. In this case, the panel itself may display symbols indicating a specific parameter, since each of them is activated in the same way - by pressing the touch panel.

Standard characters

Modern models of ovens can be very different - gas, electric, with or without a grill. In some of them, dishes can be placed on several floors at once, which significantly reduces cooking time and saves the housewife’s energy. To achieve the best possible results in creating culinary masterpieces, it is advisable to use different oven modes depending on the specific dish.

But when choosing one or another kitchen appliance, you should always remember that each manufacturer offers its own set of functions for the unit. But even with the same cooking options and hot air circulation inside the oven, the icons on the touch panel may appear different, which completely confuses customers.

Most of the companies, for example, Ariston (Ariston), Bosch (Bosch), Siemens (Siemens), Electrolux (Electrolux), Zanussi (Zanussi) decided to simplify the task of deciphering symbols on ovens for users and agreed on similar designations. We list the most standard and popular mode options:

BulbTurns on the backlight inside so you can monitor the degree of readiness of the products.
Snowflake by itself or with dropletsIndicates defrosting food.
Stripe on the bottom of the squareFor cooking, only the lower heating element is used, that is, as was the case in the standard early models of all ovens.
Stripe on topIndicates that the upper heating element is turned on.
Stripe on both sidesThe simultaneous operation of two heating elements makes it possible to bake dishes more evenly and create a baked crust.
Dotted lines on the sensorMore often they say that cooking occurs at low temperatures (70-120°)
Convection modeIt is drawn in the form of a fan or 3-4 petals combined in the center - this means that all the hot air in the oven will circulate much faster than during natural processes, which will affect faster cooking of the dish, so it is often recommended to set the temperature a little lower in this mode, why it is needed for certain products
Wavy line on topGrill function. Often combined with convection or other modes of heating food, it is often intended to create a beautiful crust on top of lasagna, meat dishes, pastries, julienne, etc.
Arrow in the middle with direction in both directionsIndicates the presence of a spit in the set, which, when used together with a grill, will create a uniform crust on any piece of meat, while the housewife does not need to perform any additional manipulations to turn it over.
Horizontal line and wavy streams of steam above itAllows you to keep food warm for a long time, which is very convenient if you don’t know when to set the table.
A drawn pie with wavy lines rising above itDesignates the “Graten” mode, that is, it involves creating an appetizing crust on top of a casserole or any other dish.
Sun or vertical wavy lines without additional symbolsTalks about a drier cooking mode.
Clock with arrowThis means that for any chosen method of air circulation in the oven, you can specify the required time.
BellIt helps to remember that you are preparing a dish, since at the end of baking the oven will definitely emit a loud signal.

Additional characters

The grill function is useful, but, of course, not the only one in modern oven models. Each plate has its own set of options.

Let's consider the most common designations of various modes :

  1. Light bulb : oven light.
  2. Snowflake : defrosting food.
  3. Two stripes at the top and bottom of the frame : standard mode, when heat is supplied evenly from above and below. To bring the dish to readiness, you can use the “heat from above” or “heat from below” option (on the panel they are indicated by stripes at the top or bottom of the square).
  4. Fan : convection or blowing hot air into the chamber. Can be shown with standard or grill modes.
  5. Double-sided horizontal arrow with a pair of arms: skewer.

What is convection: types

Typically, an electric oven has a simple convection fan, the function of which is simply to circulate air through the volume. The most efficient fan is one that is surrounded by an additional heater (heater). A number of Miele electric range models have an excellent moist convection function. When the function is turned on, the air masses inside the oven are saturated with steam. Dishes do not dry out, absorb the necessary water, and you can steam whatever you want without harmful frying. In Neff brand ovens, manufacturers install reinforced fan systems that create a strong flow of hot air.

Rapid heating gives very good results

:

  • The product quickly becomes covered with a fragrant crust;
  • With further baking, the juices do not evaporate;
  • The dish is completely baked.

Everything said above applies to electric ovens. In the usual gas oven, there was no forced convection mode before. However, not so long ago the Electrolux brand released a new product to the market: now a gas stove can be equipped with a fan to create forced convection.

A gas stove is still more popular today than an electric one, at least when it comes to ovens that stand separately. The domestic market was no exception. Gas in Russia is still not more expensive than electricity. Therefore, a gas oven from Gorenje, Hansa or another brand is installed in 80 out of 100 homes. Today, those who prefer a gas oven can buy a model with convection.
