What kind of damage can a bra wire cause?
- The danger with this part is that it is narrow, so it can easily leak through the drum hole directly to the bottom of the tank. When the drum rotates quickly, the bone in the tank may become sideways, creating a hole that will cause a leak;
- The bone can simply tear off the heating element, standing between it and the tank;
- It (less often than the two previous cases, if we analyze our experience) can pierce the cuff of the hatch - the machine will begin to constantly leak when washing;
- A metal pit (if not removed in time) can stain the laundry a rust color and partially block the drum, causing the system to malfunction.
This is interesting: The washing machine draws water but does not wash
Signs of a foreign object getting into the washing machine
The most common signs of a bone getting into the washing machine drum:
- shaking;
- scratching, scrolling, metallic knocking;
- sudden stop, leaks;
- problems with pumping and draining water.
Be wary if you do not find a metal part in clean washed laundry. It is very likely that it got into the drum and remained in it. By following the instructions on how to remove a bone from a washing machine, many users successfully solve the problem themselves.
Is it necessary to promptly remove the bone from the machine?
There is one subtlety in this case: there are also cases when a bone gets into the washing machine, but does not cause a grinding noise. And this does not affect the operation of the equipment in any way.
However, some time will pass and the car may begin to rust. This will become clear by the fact that red spots will appear on clothes and underwear. Another problem is also possible. The bone may move and cause the machine to break. That’s why, if a piece of laundry gets lost after washing, it’s better to immediately think about how to remove the bra wire from the washing machine.
It is important to assess the possible harm to the washing machine if a bone is stuck in it. It is also important to understand what it is made of and what material it is made of. The further method of removing the bone, as well as where it may be located in the machine, also depends on this.
The parts of the bra cups, made of plastic, are quite harmless. In the sense that the bones are flexible. And they cannot do much damage to the washing machine. No drum, no tank. In many cases, such bones break. Their pieces settle in the drain filter.
IMPORTANT! But the “spare parts” of a metal bra can most likely damage the mechanisms. However, there is one good way to solve the problem. You can remove the metal bra wire from the washing machine using a magnet.
What danger does a stuck bone pose to the machine:
“It can slip under the drum, stand across and pierce the wall of the tank. After this, the machine will leak. You cannot handle such repairs on your own. You'll have to call a specialist.
— The bone can catch on one edge of the heating element, and the other on the drum. In this case, when the drum rotates at high speed, damage to the heating element is possible. Moreover, although rarely, it happens that the heating element even comes off.
— The bone can easily pierce the sealing cuff of the hatch, since it is rubber. And this will require replacing the cuff.
— If a wire from a bra gets into the drum of a washing machine, it may jam. If this happens, the machine will display a message indicating that an error has occurred.
Where to look?
Having discovered atypical noises in the machine, you need to find the cause. If there is a possibility that a laundry stone remains in the washing machine, it must be found. It can be located in various structural parts:
- Get stuck in the drum. The rotating structure has perforations for draining water. Foreign objects often get into small holes. If one end of the bone gets into the hole, it may get stuck there or go further.
- In the heating element. If the bone has passed through the perforation, it is more likely to linger at the bottom of the tank where the heating element is located. You should look in its bends or under it.
- Between the tank and the drum. If the bra part is not stuck in the heating element, it may be in the cavity behind the drum, not only on the side or bottom, but also in the back.
- In other elements of the machine. In rare cases, the bone moves further and gets stuck in the drain pipe, filter or pump.
Solving the problem yourself
If the user discovers that the bra wire is missing, it is worth trying to find the missing item yourself:
- Carefully examine other items of clothing that were washed along with the bra.
- At the end of washing or an emergency stop of the washing machine, you should carefully inspect the drum. Very often foreign objects get into the holes in the drum.
- You can also look for the wire from the bra in the sealing cuff and be prepared for the fact that the element will have to be replaced.
To answer the question of how to remove a bone from a washing machine without disassembling it, you first need to understand where it might be. You can try to remove the bone from the hole in the heating element or in the drain pipe yourself. In more than 85% of cases, the missing bra wire is “hidden” in the location of the heating element. However, independent actions are desirable if the heating element is located on the rear wall of the machine:
- We turn the unit with the back wall towards us and unscrew the screws.
- After removing the back wall, you will see the drum wheel itself, and at the bottom there is a heating element; you must first disconnect the power wires.
- Then loosen the nut that holds the heating element. Carefully remove the heating element by shaking it in different directions.
- How to remove a bone from a washing machine through the hole in the heating element? It will be more convenient to use pliers.
- Finally, we install the heating element back and connect the wires.
Before you try to remove the wire from your bra through the drain, you need to disconnect the machine from the electricity and make sure that the water is drained. After this, you can start searching for a foreign object:
- First, you need to remove the powder receptacle and put the machine on its side, since in most models you can only get to the drain pipe through the bottom.
- Next, you need to unscrew the bottom of the washing unit, which usually has special latches.
- When you see the drain pipe, you will need to remove it by first unscrewing the clamps.
- Remove the missing bone and other foreign objects that have fallen into the pipe.
- Rinse the pipe under running water and replace it.
A foreign object in the washing machine could not be detected, but the extraneous sounds are only getting stronger? This means that you will need to completely disassemble the household appliance, and doing it yourself is not the wisest decision. It is much safer and more reliable to contact a service center, where they will promptly help you and advise you on the rules for washing women’s underwear.
We take out the bone through the hole for the heating element
Many service center technicians prefer this method, because it allows you to remove a bone from a bra that has gotten into the washing machine in 90% of cases.
Important! This method is suitable for those models in which access to the heating element is from the back wall of the machine.
Some washing machines from Bosh, LG and Samsung brands have the heating element located at the front. And removing the front panel is much more troublesome than the back.
The main stages of extracting a bone through the hole from the heating element:
- Turn the washing machine around so that you have easy access to the back panel.
- Unscrew the screws from the back cover and remove it. If there is a service hatch at the back, then you just need to open it.
- You will see a large wheel - the drum pulley, behind which is the tank body itself. Immediately below the wheel are the power wires for the heating element.
- Disconnect the heating element contacts.
Important! Before removing the power terminals from the heating element, sketch or photograph their location so that later when connecting there is no confusion with the wires.
- Now you need to loosen the pin that holds the heating element itself as much as possible. To do this, unscrew the nut almost completely - there is no need to remove it completely.
- Grab the heating element with both hands and, slightly rocking it from side to side, pull it towards you. Sometimes this is quite difficult to do with bare hands - in this case, use pliers.
Important! Under no circumstances try to remove the heating element by prying it with a screwdriver or other hard object. You may damage the seat of the heating element, which will subsequently cause a leak.
- When removing the heating element, you can simultaneously remove the bra wire from the washing machine. If this does not happen, then through the resulting hole it is easy to get the “spare part” from the bra by prying it off with wire or pliers.
- Reinstall the heating element and connect the wires.
Important! If grooves have formed on the rubber seal of the heating element that prevent the heating element from being put into place, you need to smooth them out a little with sandpaper or a file.
- Screw the back cover.
Features of washing women's underwear
Wherever a bone gets in the washing machine, it can be removed using any of the following methods, but the problem can be avoided if you follow certain rules and know the safety precautions:
- It is better to wash bras by hand rather than in a machine. After all, in this way you will avoid problems with a stuck bone, and the item of women's clothing will remain in its original form for a long time without deformation of the cups.
- Use special zippered laundry bags. If you don’t want to spend money on buying bags, then a regular pillowcase with a zipper will do just fine.
- Even before washing, you should make sure that the bra is not torn, especially in the area where the edge of the wire comes into contact with the fabric.
- Using a container for bras, you don’t have to worry about the foam rubber getting wrinkled.
Why should the work be entrusted to specialists?
Opening a washing machine is a long and labor-intensive process that requires the technician to know the design features of a particular model. For example, only an experienced specialist can get to the bottom of the drum in devices with a soldered tank without damaging the plastic housing of the unit. The intervention of an amateur is dangerous due to cracking of the shell and the camera itself.
Manipulating the heating element is no less difficult. When connecting contacts, it is necessary to strictly adhere to the electrical diagram, and also to ensure reliable fixation of the heater on the bracket, which is not always possible to do without certain skills. Mistakes made at this stage are fraught with burnout of the control unit, engine and heating element itself.
By turning to specialists, clients enlist the help of real professionals who know exactly how to solve the problem of a stuck bone and eliminate the damage it caused to the device. Call. We do excellent work, and our services are inexpensive, even for on-site repairs.
Frame wire for a bra: what is it made of and what harm does it cause?
At first glance, if you compare the size of the machine and the linen accessories, it seems that it is unlikely to do any harm. But the point is not in size, but in the material from which the bone is made.
Most often, frames or bones for linen are made of metal or coated steel.
Getting stuck in the tank of the machine, such corsetry parts begin to rust, stain water and washable items, and can tear linen. And these are even the easiest of troubles. Much worse is that a sharp metal bone can easily pierce the washing machine tank, damage the coating of the heating element, tear the cuff or drain pipe.
If the fittings are made of plastic, then they are less destructive.
Although, when a plastic bone has fallen deep into the washing machine, it can also make a mess. For example, pierce the same drain pipe or slip into the pump and disable it.

Why is a bra wire dangerous for a machine?
The frame part of women's underwear is small in size, but this will not prevent it from causing considerable harm. If you don’t get it in time, you may face the following consequences:
- the bone made of metal begins to rust, which is why the laundry is washed in dirty water and gets dirty;
- the sharp part of the bone sticking out of the drum when it rotates can tear the laundry inside;
- may damage drum perforation;
- a sharp bone can pierce a tank;
- lead to damage to the coating of the heating element, due to which it will not be able to fully operate, or break it into pieces;
- tear the drain collar, which leads to leakage;
- pierce the pipe, which cannot be repaired;
- get stuck in the pump blades, which can cause it to burn out or fail.
Important:
You need to remove the bone as early as possible so that it does not harm the machine. It is better not to wash with stuck fittings so that it does not pass further and damage the working parts.

How to prevent the problem?
- Before washing, carefully inspect your pockets, and after washing, carefully inspect your clothes and underwear with buttons and accessories for damage. Such scrupulousness will allow you not to start a new wash if an unnecessary item remains in the drum or at the bottom of the tank;
- Send clothes with buttons and accessories to the middle of the drum so that they have less contact with the hatch and do not make ringing sounds;
- For underwear, be sure to choose the delicate wash program - its main advantage is a small number of revolutions;
- Buy special bags for washing bras and corsets. Reliable, simple and effective protection.
We do without disassembly
If you are afraid that you will not be able to cope with disassembling the Bosch SMA, you can try to remove the bra wire without doing this. You need to “arm yourself” with a flashlight, a thin wire with a special bend at the end, and plenty of time. You need to open the door wide and put the flashlight in the drum so that the light penetrates through the holes on the surface directly into the tank.
Afterwards, you should stick your head into the hatch and, looking inside, use your eyes to find the missing bone from the bodice. When this is successful, you need to insert the wire through the hole in the drum and try with all your might to catch the “lost thing”. A beginner will need at least half an hour for such “fishing”.
When you can pick up the bone, you need to carefully rotate the drum so that it stands vertically. Then, by rotating the container, you should ensure that the tip of the bra bow “fits” into one of the holes on the surface. Then all that remains is to grab it with pliers and pull it out. Please note that it is quite difficult to handle the wire, rotate the drum and pick up the tool with your head in the washer alone. Therefore, it is advisable to have an assistant on hand.

The second method is to remove the bone through the heating element
Attention! This method is suitable for horizontal washing machines with a rear heating element, when the heat element is located under the tank at the bottom.
You felt the drum and found nothing sticking out. This means that the accessories that “escaped” from the laundry have already slipped into the tank. From repair experience, craftsmen know that when a bone from a bra falls into the washing machine, most often it falls to the bottom of the tank and gets stuck in the TEN area. And you can get it out by removing the heating element from the washing machine tank. In fact, you need to remove the heating element, find and pull out the bone, and then put the heater in place.
For this:
- Remove the back cover from the machine.
- Turn off the power to the heating element, remove the terminals from the contacts. Typically, three wires are suitable for the heater: phase, neutral and ground. Phase and neutral have a terminal contact; the grounding contact can be secured with a nut on the central stud.
- Loosen the fastening nut on the stud. You will see it when you remove the grounding. Unscrew the nut until it is flush with the end of the stud (there is no need to remove it at all).
- Carefully press the pin inside the heating element so that it “sinks” up to the nut.
- Move the heating element and remove it from the socket (sometimes serious effort is required).
Attention! Do not swing the heating element by its contacts or pry it with a screwdriver. You will damage the contact pins or sealing collar.
In half of the cases, the bone is removed along with the heating element because it gets stuck in the loop of the heater tube. In other cases, it is found at the bottom of the tank under the installation site. Often, instead of one fitting, there are two, or even three.
Housewives do not always associate the loss of a frame from a cup with the washing machine, and a bone can slip into the tank without noise or knocking, without showing signs of its presence. Therefore, it is located only when disassembling the heater, behind.
Inspect the TEN carefully for damage. Sometimes a metal strip breaks the heater very badly, literally into pieces.
But more often it leaves small dents or scratches on the tube, which are hardly noticeable. And the owners of the machine put the damaged element in the tank, and then are forced to carry out serious repairs to the equipment due to a breakdown of the heater, electrical short circuit and other surprises. Therefore, it is safer to immediately change even a slightly dented heating element.
When the bone is pulled out and the heater is normal, you can put it back in place.
The procedure will be the reverse of disassembly:
- Push the center pin outward by pressing on the inner mounting plate.
- Insert the heating element into the hole, gently pressing the cuff.
- Screw the fastening nut onto the stud. Do not tighten it all the way, you will compress the seal and it will leak water from the tank. It is better to tighten it a little looser and then tighten it if necessary if moisture appears in the hole. But, as a rule, the seal seals the tank well and additional tightening of the nut is not necessary.
- Connect the power supply to the TEN.
- Plug in the machine and run a test wash without replacing the back cover. To check if there is a leak from the tank through the heater socket.
Attention! Be careful not to touch the inside of the machine with the lid removed while washing.
If everything is in order, there are no leaks, secure the lid, having first disconnected the washing machine from the mains.
How to remove a pit through the drain system
If the bone is plastic, it breaks easily. Because of this and because of its low weight, its parts do not linger in the drum or heating element, but slip further into the drain system of the machine. They should be removed according to one of the instructions described below, according to their location.
How to remove through the filter
The filter should be cleaned regularly. This is where all the debris and small objects that slip through the perforations of the drum fall. Parts of a broken bone can also be found here. Cleaning the filter occurs in the following order:
- Open the filter hatch. It is located at the bottom front of the device. You can open it by pressing the latch or prying it with a screwdriver.
- Prepare a rag or container to drain the water. Since the hatch is at the very bottom of the car, sometimes it is more convenient to tilt it backwards.
- Holding the special tabs, unscrew the filter. Get it.
- Carefully examine the filter and the hole where it is placed. The bone can be found in both places.
- Rinse the filter under the tap.
- Clear the hole of accumulated debris. Wipe it with a cloth.
- Insert the filter and screw it on. Close the hatch.
Reach through the drain pipe
You should look for laundry accessories in the drain pipe if they are not found in the drum or filter, and also provided that the machine does not make any extraneous noise during operation. The set of measures is somewhat different for different types of devices. Standard type washing machines that are not equipped with housing protection against leaks are best disassembled according to the following instructions:
- Place the equipment on its side.
- Unscrew the bottom fasteners or unclip the latches. Remove the lower housing.
- Unscrew the fastener on the ring or loosen the bolt on the clamp.
- Remove the pipe.
- Inspect the drain hole and the visible inside of the machine. To do this, it is better to use a flashlight. Sometimes the bone may fall out on its own if it gets stuck at the exit.
- Insert the pipe and tighten the fasteners.
- Place the bottom. Turn the equipment over.
If the washer is equipped with spill protection, it is not recommended to remove the bottom. To get to the pipe through the bottom, you will need to remove the protective element, which requires some experience. Therefore, it is more convenient to get to the pipe through the rear wall. Then you need to look for the stuck part by touch, as far as your fingers can get through. It is difficult to look inside, because... the hole is quite narrow. Finding a bone can be very difficult if it is not located near the attachment point of the pipe.
If a bone gets stuck in the pump
Evidence that a bone has entered the pump is a strong buzzing or grinding sound when it is turned on. It is also worth paying attention to the drainage system. If the pump is faulty, water may not drain well or not be pumped out at all.
Important:
If you hear an unusual noise when pumping or draining water, you need to stop using the machine. If a foreign object gets into the pump, it may burn out.
You need to deal with the problem as soon as possible. To remove the bone from the pumping equipment, you will need to open it. Its location differs for different models:
- The location behind the filter is found in Ariston, Ardo, Veko, Indesit, Samsung, Candy, Whirpool, LG. It is easier to inspect the pump through the bottom, using the instructions described above.
- Location on the rear wall of Electrolux and Zanussi. It is better to disassemble through it.
- In the central part, closer to the top, AEG, Bosch, Siemens. To get to the pump, you need to remove the cover and front wall. You need to remove the dispenser and unfasten the hatch cuff. You should not disassemble such machines yourself, so as not to damage the device. Owners of such devices should immediately contact a professional.
The installation method and internal structure of the pumps are identical. To remove the bone from the pump, you need to:
- Pull out the connector to turn off the power.
- Prepare a basin and a rag, since during disassembly the water remaining in the pump will flow out.
- Unscrew the fasteners that secure the equipment to the housing.
- Loosen the clamps, remove the inlet and drain hoses.
- Unscrew the snail.
- Remove the impeller from the housing. The bone often gets stuck between its blades or is pressed against the body inside, which can be seen after removing the impeller.
- Inspect the impeller. If it is damaged, the pump will not be able to work productively, in particular, drain water. The entire pump will need to be replaced.
- If there is no damage, the impeller must be replaced and the pump reassembled.
Before fully using the washing machine, it is recommended to first check the operation of the pump unit. To do this, you need to run a quick wash and observe the operation of the machine in order to detect a leak in a timely manner. If the test occurs with the case not completely closed, you cannot touch the internal parts until the wash is completed.
If you are lucky with your car model
Some of those who purchased a washing machine were very lucky, since it is very easy to remove the wire from a bra in some models of the unit. Lucky are those who, for example, bought a top-loading machine under the Bosch and Siemens brands. They have a special hatch through which you can get out small objects that accidentally get into the mechanism.
In this case, we offer you the following course of action:
— Close the drum doors. — Turn the drum half a turn. - Open the latch. Usually the hatch is located opposite the drum flaps. — Return the drum to its initial position with the doors open. — We remove the bone from the special hatch.
IMPORTANT! Please note that in future, in order to avoid such problems, you need to use special bags in which to wash clothes in a machine.
Advantages of contacting a service center
Minor repair work should be done independently only if you have the appropriate skills and tools. In other cases, you should seek help from professional craftsmen. Repair of household appliances Top Refit means minimum terms of work and guaranteed quality of service. Prices are transparent and are announced before the start of cooperation. You can count on prompt, high-level service. The specialist will remove the bone, give recommendations for prevention, and conduct a comprehensive diagnosis of the equipment.
What to do if another foreign object gets into the washing machine
The bra pit in the washing machine is not the only “uninvited guest.” During inspections, craftsmen find coins (even anniversary coins!), buttons, pins, curtain fittings, Lego parts, bolts, screws, nails and other small items. The dimensions of this “good” are smaller than those of a stone and they are less likely to linger in the perforations of the drum or at the bottom of the tank.
Their favorite habitats are:
- Cuff near the door hatch. “Creeping small fry” easily gets into the fold and remains there.
- Drain pipe. There are small metal parts, screws, and nails left in it.
- Drain filter. There may be a warehouse of coins, nuts and screws, and small plastic items. Everything that slipped through the pipe, but did not have time or could not fly into the pump.
- Water pump. It carries light plastic parts, such as parts of a children's construction set, matches, small fittings, and buttons.
- Drain hose. Matches, small pins, and plastic dowels fly through the pump.
Since the size of this “good” is small, they usually do not cause significant harm, such as breaking the heating element or damaging the tank. But, for example, a nail or self-tapping screw is quite capable of damaging the heating tube, unraveling the perforation of the drum, or even making a hole in the tank. And it’s easy to break the pump or cause a blockage.
Therefore, if there is extraneous noise in the machine, pump noise or other strange sounds, it is worth looking to see if there are any foreign “guests” in the inside of the washing machine. If it’s difficult to handle on your own, call a repair specialist.
How to properly remove a bra wire from a washing machine?
If you are close to the washing machine during washing and in time you hear unusual sounds (strong knocking) from your machine, there is hope to take the necessary measures and prevent the wire from your bra from getting into hard-to-reach places. To do this, stop the washing process and turn off the machine. Then drain the water. In most washing machines, this can be done by pressing a button for a delicate wash, which does not have a spin cycle. Set the required mode and get rid of the water in the drum. Now look carefully inside the drum, maybe you are lucky and can get the bone out with your hands without any problems. If you find nothing, you should delve deeper into the problem.
There are two ways to remove the bone. Let's look at them separately.
Extraction through the opening for the heating element
This method is suitable if your washing machine model has a built-in heating element on the back wall.
- turn the washing machine backwards so that you can work with its rear panel without any problems;
- remove the back cover of the washing machine by unscrewing the screws;
- straighten the wires of the heating element;
- Unscrew the nut to loosen the heater. It is not necessary to remove it;
- try shaking the heating element by holding it with both hands. If the bone does not fall out, lift the heating element and remove it with your hand;
- install everything in reverse order.
Extraction through drain
- Prepare plenty of space and turn the washing machine over. In most models, the drain is located underneath.
- Remove the powder container and turn the washing machine on its side.
- Unscrew and remove the bottom of the washing machine.
- Remove the drain pipe by loosening the clamps.
- Remove the bra wire, along with the rest of the debris, and then rinse the tube thoroughly.
- Reinstall the pipe and reassemble everything in reverse order.
Rules for washing bras with wires
To avoid problems with finding and removing the bone, you must follow the following rules when washing your bra:
- always check the integrity of the seams on the product, if there are damages, sew them up before loading them into the machine;
- place underwear in a special mesh bag, if there is none, in a pillowcase or other fabric shell that can be fastened;
- use washing modes with a minimum number of revolutions (for example, “delicate”, “manual”);
- clean by hand.
The presence of a stone in the washing machine drum is quite easy to detect, however, it is more difficult to get it out. The easiest way to remove the part is if it is still held in the holes of the mechanism, but if it has fallen, then you can get it through the drain or electric heater, and only by disassembling the device. In most cases, you can do this yourself, but it is better to prevent this problem from occurring and wash your clothes correctly.
We take out the wire from the bra through the drum
If the bone begins to fall into the cavity behind the drum and gets stuck in it, it is not difficult to get it out. Its presence is determined visually. In this case, part of it, as a rule, sticks out in the drum. All you have to do is grab it and carefully remove it.
If it was not possible to see it in shiny metal, you need to perform the following procedure:
- Check by touch. To do this, you need to run your hand over the entire surface of the drum.
- If you find a protruding corner of the bone, stop the drum.
- Take tweezers, tweezers, thin pliers.
- Use the tool to hook the tip of the fitting and pull it out.
Important:
When feeling the drum with your hand, you must be careful not to touch the bone and prevent it from falling further.
We take it out through the heating element
If the bone passes through the drum, it often falls down and gets stuck in the heating element or under it. You will need to remove the heating element to get it out. You can do this yourself if the heating element is located at the bottom of the machine. The procedure looks like this:
- Remove the rear surface of the housing.
- Disconnect power. Electricity is supplied to the heating element through a three-wire cable. In this case, phase and neutral are usually secured with terminals, and the ground wire is often fixed with a clamp nut.
- Having disconnected the grounding from the central stud, you can see the fastening nut. Loosen the nut without unscrewing completely. Press the pin all the way into it.
- Move the heating element. Get it. This usually requires considerable effort, but it is prohibited to use a screwdriver or other tools for this to avoid causing damage. Also, do not pull the heating element by the wires.
- More often, the bone gets stuck between the heater tubes, so it is removed along with it. If it is missing, you should look in the heating element installation socket. She can fall under it and lie at the bottom.
- Inspect the heating element for damage. Sometimes a metal bone can not only scratch it, but also break it into pieces.
- After fixing the problem, you need to pull out the pin by pressing on the fastening part from the inside. Insert the heating element into the socket and gently press the cuff.
- Tighten the fastening nut. If it is overtightened, it can tear the seal, leading to a leak. The seal seals the tank well, so the nut may be slightly undertightened. After a test wash, you can always tighten it if a drop of water is found on it.
- Connect power to the heater.
- Run a quick wash to check the operation of the machine. Do not touch the parts until the machine stops washing.
Advice:
If scratches and damage are found during inspection of the heating element, it is better to replace the part. During operation, such a heater can cause a short circuit, lead to machine breakdown and other unpleasant consequences.
Extraction
At home, you can remove the bone from your underwear by disassembling the machine. First drain the water and disconnect the washing machine from the power supply.
Through the drain
We'll tell you how to remove a bra wire from a washing machine if it's stuck in the drain.
Through the pipe
Place the machine on either side, remove the cover from the bottom, if there is one. There should be a pipe between the pump and the tank. Loosen the fastening clamp and remove the part. If the bone does not fall out on its own, shine a flashlight into the hole and look for it between the tank and the heating element. After finding the already lost part, the pipe will need to be returned to its place, then fasten the panel at the bottom and the clamp, and return the washing machine to a vertical position.
Through the filter
Remove the narrow panel from the bottom of the front of the machine. Usually there is a hatch on the left, behind which there is a filter. Carefully tilt the machine back, place rags on the floor, and gently press the lid that closes the mechanism. Then remove the filter. The bone can be in it or behind the pump. After removal, the part will need to be screwed back in and covered with a panel.
Through the pump
When the machine drains water very poorly and makes a strong and noticeable noise during the process, it can be assumed that a part has gotten into the pump. The situation is rare, but possible. In most washing machines, the pump is located at the back of the drain system. To find it, you will need to follow the steps described in the previous paragraph. In some machines you will have to unscrew the front panel, in others the front and top covers are removed. When you find the pump, place containers under the washing machine to drain the water, and lay out rags.
Disconnect the power connector, unscrew the fastening screws, remove the pipe and drain hose. Unscrew the volute from the housing, remove the engine, inspect the parts and casing for bones. If the pump is intact, you can assemble it and put it back. If there are defects, it is worth replacing the unit.
Through a tubular heater
The element may become stuck under an electric heater or between its tubes. The described method is suitable for removing a stone from a machine with horizontal loading (in them the heating element is located at the back). Procedure:
- Unplug the machine and drain the water.
- Turn the back of the machine towards you.
- Remove the panels from the back, unscrew the screws.
- Find the drum pulley (large wheel).
- Find the contacts with the wires and remove the terminals from the pair.
- Loosen the nuts on the studs, but do not completely remove the nut from wire 3.
- Press the stud and carefully press it into the electric heater until it is level with the nut.
- Gently swing the heating element.
- Find the bone between the heating tubes. If it's not there, look in the tank. Hook a metal object and carefully pull it out.
- Inspect the heating element for dents or damage.
- Return the mechanism to its place or, in case of severe damage, replace it with a new one.
Done - all you have to do is screw the nut and connect the terminals. Without screwing the back cover on, run a test wash cycle. If there are no leaks, the unit is operating normally, screw the panel back.
Through the cross
A complex scheme, it is advisable that the work be carried out by a professional. There is an option to remove the fittings without disassembling the tank - in this case the fittings should fall to the drain pipe or heating element (we wrote about them above).
Procedure:
- Twist the back of the housing.
- Remove the pulley belt.
- Unscrew the mounting hardware and remove the pulley.
- Tighten the bolt approximately halfway.
- Use a rubber hammer to tap the shaft so that the tank moves.
- Move the drum, so the fittings will fall to the bottom.
A regular hammer (not a rubber one) will also work, but it should be fairly light. The shaft should be struck through a wooden block.
No disassembly
There are several ways to remove a bra wire without disassembling the machine:
- try to feel the end of the product on the surface of the drum. If you find it, carefully remove it using pliers or tweezers.
- pull out the rubber seal on the front panel hatch. Push the drum a little to the side, feel for the bone, hook it and remove it.
- Shine through the perforation - perhaps a flashlight will help you find the lost item. If this is the case, use a large paper clip or wire to construct a hook with bends at both ends. Fasten one turn to your finger, and with the second try to pry up an object that has fallen into the tank.
- The drum can be rotated a little so that the bone is more likely to fall into the hole. Perform the work independently or alone.
Instead of wire, you can use a thin rope or thread. At one end you will need to make a loop and use it to pry up the bone, then remove the lace. Some models of machines have a special hatch for removing foreign objects. You need to close the sash, turn the drum about halfway, open the sash again and return the mechanism to its place. Afterwards, through the hatch you can quickly get the lost element.
Ways to remove a foreign object with parsing
If using wire, a magnet and pliers it was not possible to remove the wire from the bra from the machine (for example, such as the LG FH296WDS), then you will have to do this by choosing one of two other methods: through the hole for the heating element and through the drain. In any case, the washing equipment will have to be disassembled.
One rule for two methods: unplug the washing machine!
How to remove a bone: all available methods
You need to remove the wire from your bra as soon as you notice it is missing. The machine may work properly, but this does not guarantee that there will be no problems, so don’t delay. Over time, the breakdown will worsen, and repairing the tank wall, replacing the rubber cuff, and heating elements are much more expensive than removing a foreign object by a specialist (you can do this yourself for free). Also, the bone can cause corrosion, and stains will begin to appear on the laundry. It is impossible to remove rust from fabrics.
How to find an item
Before you remove a foreign object from the machine, you need to understand where exactly it is located. The main options are tank, drum, parts of the drain system. To determine the exact location:
Drain the water.
- Disconnect the machine from the power source, remove the laundry if it was in the drum.
- Feel the surface of the drum - probably the bone has not yet fallen through.
- If a simple search does not produce results, then use a headlamp or hand-held flashlight to illuminate the perforations at the bottom of the drum. A bone that falls into the tank will be visible in the holes.
- Rotate the drum slightly from one side to the other. An iron part that is stuck between the tank and the rotating mechanism often slows down movement in a particular area.
If you can't find your lost pit, it's probably stuck in the drain.
