This polyurethane adhesive went on sale on our market not so long ago, but, thanks to its excellent adhesive properties, it quickly gained popularity among other compounds used for gluing surfaces made of various materials. Durability, reliability, and most importantly - the ability to repair shoes at home with your own hands - this is why Desmokol is appreciated by consumers.
General requirements
The composition of shoe glue is very specific. This is due to the fact that when gluing boots and shoes, it is important to fulfill a number of mandatory conditions.
- Strength of connection - when walking, and even more so running, the load on different parts of the shoe is very different and constantly changing. Accordingly, the strength of the seam should be quite considerable.
- On the other hand, the seam must remain flexible, otherwise it will be extremely inconvenient or even make the use of the product impossible.
- Traces of repairs should not be visible. So the adhesive must be either colorless or exactly match the color of the shoe.
- The seam must be waterproof since the shoes are exposed to moisture.
Only some types of products satisfy all these requirements: polyurethane adhesive SAR-306, for example, Sar-30 E and the like.
Nairite adhesive SAR-30E
It is based on chloroprene rubber resin, as well as non-volatile substances and thermal vulcanizers.
Adhesive SAR-30 E
Thanks to these components, the nairite composition is safer and has excellent user properties:
- SAR-30E is resistant to cold and heat;
- the glued seam retains elasticity even at very low temperatures - down to -60C;
- the composition retains its properties for a long time when opened and does not need to be diluted;
- resistant not only to moisture, but also to petroleum products and weak acids;
- SAR-30E glue is used when processing the seams of finished shoes in order to make the product waterproof.
Instructions for using the composition suggest 2 gluing methods. Parts must be cleaned and degreased before the procedure.
- Cold - produced at a temperature not lower than +17 C. It is recommended to use it when gluing foam rubber, fabric uppers to soles and other works where the use of the hot method is impossible. The surface of the parts is lubricated with 1 layer of SAR-30E, wait 3-5 minutes for the composition to feed, and then connect the parts and press tightly. You can use the product within a day.
- The hot method is preferable as it allows the resin to polymerize to a greater extent. One layer of the composition is applied to the elements of the product, and after 10 minutes - the second. After which the surface is dried at room temperature for 30–40 minutes. Then the surfaces are heated at 80–90 C for about 5–10 minutes, and then pressed tightly against each other; it is recommended to tap the joint. After 6 hours the product can be used.
Adhesive SAR-30 E
Adhesive SAR 306
Since many people use this glue when reupholstering car interiors, as it is the most accessible in their regions, we provide a technical description of it, although the manufacturer itself does not consider its purpose for use in the automotive industry.
SAR 306 is a one-component polyurethane adhesive for gluing soles made of TEP, PU, PVC, rubber with uppers made of natural and artificial materials. It has good resistance to high temperatures and fast initial bonding.
METHOD OF APPLICATION: Apply SAR 306 glue to carefully prepared surfaces and allow to dry for 15-20 minutes at room temperature, reactivate at 70-80 ºС. Quickly connect and press under pressure of 4-6 kg/cm2 for 10 seconds. Final bonding occurs after 24 hours. For PU soles : sand the sole evenly and apply SAR 306 glue. Sanding is a fundamental point, as it guarantees the removal of all kinds of dirt and silicone residues from the surface. For PVC soles: wipe the sole with a cotton cloth soaked in SOLVENTE LB – 20 (without POLVERE LB – 20), allow to dry for 5 minutes and apply SAR 306. For TPE soles : apply SATREAT chlorinating solution (SOLVENTE LB – 20 + POLVERE LB – 20) and let dry for 20 minutes. It is very important that the brush used to apply the solution does not have metal parts that could react with dichloramine, then apply SAR 306. For relac soles: sand evenly. Apply SATREAT chlorinating solution (as in the case of TEP), wait 20 minutes and apply SAR 306. For SBR rubber soles : sand the sole. Apply a chlorinating solution and wait at least 2 hours, then apply SAR 306. The addition of 3-5% activator KENDOR RC (DESMODUR RC) can improve the adhesion of any surfaces and, in particular, all difficult-to-glue materials that have a high amount of plasticizers in the structure, such as SBR-TPR-PVC-PU-PA-ABS, oiled leather, HIIYTREL, etc. After adding the KENDOR RC (DESMODUR RC) activator, it is necessary to reactivate the adhesive mixture on the surface within approximately 1 hour from the moment of application. The mixture (glue with activator) retains its properties for over 4 hours. We recommend using glue at a temperature not lower than 18 ºС; If the product is stored in a cold room, it is necessary to bring the temperature of the glue to this level before starting work. Solvent content in accordance with existing standards. We ignite. SOLVENTE 31714. Cans of 4.5 kg and 15 kg. Shelf life is approximately 24 months if stored in tightly sealed original manufacturer containers in a dry and well-ventilated area. Protect from excessively high and low temperatures.

Instructions for use
To ensure reliable gluing of parts, it is necessary to first clean the bonded surfaces from dirt, dust and material residues. After this, the surfaces are cleaned with sandpaper and treated with acetone or alcohol. There are three different ways to glue surfaces using Desmokol glue .
- The easy way. A thin layer of adhesive is applied to the surfaces to be glued, after 2-3 minutes the operation is repeated, after which the surfaces are pressed against each other with maximum force.
- Wet method. The surfaces are moistened with water, after which a thin layer of Desmokol is applied and the parts to be glued are placed under a press or clamped with clamps.
- With heating of the bonded surfaces. The surfaces coated with adhesive are left for 10 minutes, after which they are heated with a hairdryer to 80 °C and also clamped with clamps.
Kenda Farben polymer adhesive
This composition is also highly heat-resistant and is intended for bonding a wide variety of materials: rubber, leather, PVC products, fabric, polyurethane, as well as porous materials.
KendaFarben is used not only in the shoe industry, but also in the automotive industry, since this brand includes a variety of adhesive compositions. Most often, it is used to connect products based on artificial and natural latex, and provides extremely strong and fast adhesion. Detailed instructions are included with all types of products and in any packaging - 50 ml, 1 l, 200 l. The photo shows KendaFarben products.
Glue Desmokol
The composition is made on the basis of polyurethane resins, the solvent is organic, so that the water resistance of the seam is ensured. The product is ideal for repairing boots and shoes, as it allows you to obtain a durable and flexible seam with a wide variety of material characteristics. In addition, the composition is colorless, so traces of repair remain invisible.
Glue Desmokol
Desmokol SAR-306 adhesive is designed for gluing a wide variety of parts. Basically, this is a combination of polyurethane and polyvinyl chloride soles with a fabric upper, elements made of oiled leather, artificial leather, vinyl plastic, and so on. In addition, the composition perfectly glues rubber, which makes it indispensable for repairing rubber boats, mattresses, lifebuoys, and so on.
SAR-306 is produced in different packaging: metal tubes with a volume of 50 ml, cans with a volume of 1 l, eurobuckets - 20 l and barrels - 200 l.
