Water coolers are used by various establishments, offices, businesses, gyms, etc. Their main advantage is providing a person with access to purified water at any time. Sometimes the cooler starts to leak. To solve the problem, it is not necessary to contact the service. You can try to figure out on your own the causes of water cooler leaks.
Workshop at home. Why doesn't the water cooler heat up?
Did they bring you a cooler?
Have you decided to try to see if it “turns on” but there is no water? You’ll think to yourself, well, it’s okay, I’ll just plug it into the socket and check if the indicators are on, and that’s it. What's wrong, I'm fast? This is the main mistake a newbie makes when connecting a new or long-not-used device for the first time. Then you will definitely call us and say that the cooler does not heat the water at all, and you personally followed the instructions. In fact, you are very lucky, because we wrote this short guide and saved about a thousand rubles from your wallet, because that is how much you will have to pay to remove the thermal protection, and sometimes the cost of removing the protection depends on the price of the water cooler. As a rule, thermal protection is triggered due to everyday carelessness, or due to neglect of the short manual included with each water cooler sold. Attention, you can only turn on the cooler after making sure that the heating and cooling tanks are completely filled. If this condition is not met, this unfortunate thermal protection will work in the device, which protects the heating element from burning out. In order to turn it off, you need to arm yourself with a long screwdriver and be sure to unplug the cooler from the outlet. Although it is better to first check whether the heating switch on the rear panel is turned on (we have had such cases) and, making sure that it is turned on, we proceed further. Let's look at the back wall of the device, and through the compressor grille (in a cooler with electronic cooling you need to remove the back cover) you should see the heating tank.
It is a cylinder wrapped in insulation. There are two contact groups on the tank, two contacts on each. Just between the contacts on one of them (usually on the top) there is a thermal fuse. In appearance, it is a small black button or microswitch, which you need to lightly press with a screwdriver .
After all these steps, we will pour one glass of water from each tap, this will give us the opportunity to make sure that the heating and cooling tanks are full. Now you can connect the device to an electrical outlet and turn on the toggle switches. To search for a product, enter the article or several letters from the name

Why water doesn't flow in the cooler: hot and cold
There can be several reasons for the lack of flow. This applies to both systems. Hot water does not flow if:
- the device where it should be located is empty;
- the device is in shutdown mode;
- the device does not operate as a result of the locking system;
- There is a malfunction in the heating element itself.
In addition to finding out the reasons why hot water does not flow from the cooler, we are often faced with a similar question regarding cold supply.
There are a number of reasons given for the lack of cold drinking water. Among them there are conditions similar to the malfunction of the hot feed system
- the tank that should be filled with water is empty;
- cold water does not flow because it is frozen in the tap;
- the compressor broke down;
- There is no refrigerant in the system and it needs to be changed
Ecotronic cooler malfunctions and how to avoid them
Like all household appliances, water coolers can break down and fail. In this article we will describe what problems consumers most often encounter. In most cases, a telephone consultation with a service specialist is sufficient to resolve a cooler malfunction.
The most common malfunction is that the heating function does not work when turning on a new cooler . This usually happens due to an air lock. What to do?
Before turning on the heating, you must place a bottle of water on the cooler.
Wait for the water tank to fill (wait for the tanks to fill) until air bubbles stop rising in the bottle.
Remove the air lock: fill a glass of water from each tap.
Subsequent bottles can be replaced without the rules described above. The main thing to remember is that you cannot use the cooler if the bottle is empty. Otherwise, the heating system will fail, since the heating element will burn out without water. In the event of such a breakdown, warranty repairs are no longer valid (for a fee).
The cooler is leaking - what to do?
The most likely reason is that the water bottle is not seated tightly on the cooler or that the bottle has some defects, such as cracks.
If the bottle is loose, try installing it again.
If the bottle is defective, simply replace it. Otherwise, air will enter the bottle through cracks and the tanks in the cooler will overflow and, as a result, water will begin to leak from the bottom of the cooler. Therefore, the user may think that the cooler itself is leaking.
You are not satisfied with the temperature of the water in the cooler (not cold enough or very cold). What to do?
Coolers with compressor cooling provide temperature control. It is located on the back wall of the cooler. If the cooling does not work in a new cooler, then this may be due to incorrect delivery (in a horizontal position). Then place the ecotronic purifier cooler in a vertical position and let it sit for several hours. After this time, you can turn on the cooler.
What to do if the water from the faucets in the cooler begins to flow poorly?
The most likely reason is that the Ecotronic water cooler needs to be flushed and sanitized. To do this, contact the service center.

Water does not flow from taps
It happens that there is no liquid supply from the cooler. Why does this happen? There are several explanations:
- The hygiene label has been partially removed.
- An air lock has formed
- Water is not supplied due to the presence of a foreign object in the system. For example, when a broken needle is stuck in the system.
- When the tube through which the flow moves has become pinched.
- The taps themselves may fail. The rod may break.
- When cooling, the water may freeze in the taps.
If hot water does not flow from the taps even when the container is full, check for other reasons. Examine the condition of the protective sticker. When removing it, its fragments should not get inside the system.
Simultaneously rocking the bottle while simultaneously pressing the tap will help get rid of the air lock. The procedure is performed several times. If, however, water is not supplied to the outlet, the cooler is disassembled and diagnostics are performed. Check the condition of the pipes and other elements of the cooler, look for foreign objects stuck
Important! Leaks may form in the faucet and then it needs to be replaced. You should call a specialist from the service center.
Situation 1: the new device does not function
Have you bought a cooler, but when you try to get hot water, you find out that it doesn’t work? First of all, you should make sure that the installation is plugged into an outlet and put the toggle switch in the desired position. Evidence that all measures have been completed correctly is indicated by a light indicator. If it does not light and the water temperature does not change, then, most likely, the protective function against overheating of the heating element has worked.
This happens when the cooler is turned on first, and then the bottle is placed.
You can eliminate the cause by the following measures: remove the back cover of the device, press the miniature black button on the hot water tank.
Important: it’s easy to prevent such situations - you should change the bottles in advance, remembering to unplug the cooler from the outlet and reconnect it to the power supply.
Why does hot water flow from a cold tap?
Supplying hot water instead of cold is an infrequent situation and usually not related to the work of the organization supplying the resources. Several factors can cause a malfunction:
- faucet breakdown - the gasket has failed, which blocks access to cold water;
- the shut-off valve near the riser is broken - mixing of water may occur;
- The boiler is installed incorrectly or the valve is not closed after turning on the central water supply - both systems operate in parallel;
- errors when replacing risers and water pipes - possible incorrect connection in the basement;
- lack of a check valve - hot water squeezes out cold water, so only boiling water comes in;
- improper installation of a shower stall by neighbors or failure to shut off the boiler valve if there is no check valve.
In multi-storey buildings, the water pressure is usually not good enough; problems with water supply can occur when neighbors on the lower floor take a shower or wash dishes.
Situation 2: the old cooler does not heat
The light is on, but you can’t get hot water? Most likely, this indicates a breakdown of the heating element. It stopped working at all or if it cracked - heat the liquid to a warm state, and not to 90 degrees. The reasons for the failure of the heating element are as follows: the service life has expired; there was a network outage.
To carry out repairs, you need to remove the back panel of the device along with the heating tank and try to replace the heating element (provided that the tank is collapsible). If such a task is impossible, then you will have to change the tank with all its contents.
Important: to prevent such phenomena, it is worth installing a stabilizer or relay that can equalize the voltage. Be sure to turn off the heating function at night or for the entire weekend.
Water cooler malfunctions: the most common breakdowns and causes of their occurrence
From this article you will learn:
Water coolers are not a luxury, but an attribute of any modern office. This equipment is becoming increasingly popular in everyday life. It happens that coolers fail, and in most cases the breakdown is caused by users who do not follow the operating rules. In this article, we will talk about possible malfunctions of a water cooler, and also find out when you can repair the device yourself, and when it is better to seek help from specialists.
Why do water coolers break?
The most common cause of water cooler malfunctions is its improper operation. Service center specialists claim that in 95 out of 100 cases, the users themselves are to blame for dispenser breakdowns. The cooler, like any household appliance, requires careful operation and maintenance. Many people don’t even know that the water dispenser must undergo mandatory preventive cleaning. When handled carefully and maintained promptly, it can operate smoothly for 4-5 years!
Let's look at the main reasons that cause water cooler malfunctions, as well as their elimination:
- Incorrect connection of the cooler and combustion of the heating element (heater). This happens when the heating function is activated before the tank is filled with water.
ATTENTION! You need to turn on the cooler only after air bubbles in the newly installed bottle stop rising.
ATTENTION! A cooler equipped with a compressor cooling system can only be transported in a vertical position. It is strictly forbidden to place devices on top of each other! If the compressor cooler was transported horizontally, then you need to return it to a vertical position and leave it for several hours. After which you can prepare the device for connection.
ATTENTION! You need to install the cooler on a flat and hard surface at a distance of 10–15 cm from the back panel to the wall. Avoid placing it in close proximity to heating sources (radiators, gas and electric stoves). In addition, the cooler must be installed in a place where it will not be exposed to direct sunlight. To connect the dispenser to the electrical network, you must have a grounded outlet.
ATTENTION! You need to remove the protective film from the cork. Otherwise, it gets into the cooler and leads to its breakdown. Before connecting the device to the network, you must: turn the bottle upside down, install it in the socket, wait for the air bubbles to disappear, remove the accumulated air by pressing the tap. And only after a smooth and dense stream of water flows, can you plug the cooler into the network.
ATTENTION! You need to turn off the cooler during non-working hours. This will help extend its service life and save energy consumption. If you do not plan to use the cooler for a long time (more than a week), then you need to drain the water through the cold water supply tap. Remove the remaining liquid using the drain plug. The cooler can remain in this “preserved” state for a long time. Preparing the device for transportation is similar.
Frequent breakdowns of water coolers and how to fix them
- Very often, customers contact us about water leaking from the cooler.
The dispenser begins to leak during operation and a puddle forms. In 99 cases out of 100, the cause of such a water cooler malfunction is a defective bottle that has a microcrack that allows air to enter the system. As a result, the liquid overflows the device’s storage tanks and spills onto the floor. To eliminate this problem, simply change the bottle and drain excess water - a liter from each tap. If this does not help, you should contact the service center.
- The water from the cooler taps began to flow poorly.
Most likely, the device needs washing and sanitation. And in this case, you should entrust your water cooler to specialists; it is better to diagnose faults and fix them in a service center.
- Water leaks from hot or cold taps.
Taps with mug pressure have one defect due to their design. The upper part of the faucet can unwind, and this becomes the cause of such malfunction. To solve the problem, you need to tighten the top tightening of the faucet. But it may also happen that during operation, the plastic elements of the faucets begin to crack from hot water and a leak forms. This is not a warranty issue and replacement of the taps is the responsibility of the cooler owner.
- The cooler does not heat the water.
The reason that the cooler has stopped heating water may be a failure of the temperature sensor or a blown fuse. In addition, damage to the heating element or the heating tank itself may occur. Regardless of the cause of the malfunction of the water cooler, it will not be possible to fix such a breakdown without the help of a technician.
- The cooler does not cool the water.
The most common problems: the Peltier element has failed (for a cooler with electronic cooling), a refrigerant leak has occurred, or the compressor has stopped working (for compressor devices). Whatever the reason that led to the malfunction of the water cooler, the device can only be repaired by a service center.
Any equipment has its own resource. When it is produced, a series of various malfunctions in the operation of the device begins to occur. The cooler may begin to leak, underheat or cool the water poorly, and the control panel and faucets may break down. When the device is severely worn out, water cooler malfunctions appear that cannot be repaired.

Features of self-repair of a water cooler
Humanity is still far from creating a perpetuum mobile, and even further from the invention of an “eternal cooler”. If minor malfunctions of the water cooler occur, you can carry out independent repairs.
The quality of any repair directly depends on the correctly identified cause of equipment failure. Before you begin disassembling the device, you need to read the operating instructions. It should contain a description of typical faults and methods for eliminating them.
There can be many reasons for breakdowns. Users are able to cope with some of them on their own with little effort. It is precisely these cases of water cooler malfunctions, malfunctions and methods for eliminating them that we will dwell in more detail on.
The accumulation of dirt in the dispenser causes its operation to malfunction. In this case, the first thing you will need to do is clean the cooler .
- Disconnect the device from the power supply and remove the bottle.
- Wash the surface of the cooler with dishwashing detergent. Do this carefully, especially in the area where the container needle is installed.
- Remove and thoroughly wash the pan.
- Wipe all parts of the device dry with a soft cloth.
- Replace the tray.
- Install a water bottle.
- To remove detergent residue from the tap, open it and drain a small amount of water.
Often the cause of a “malfunction” of a water cooler can be simple carelessness:
- the device can be disconnected from the power supply;
- The ON button may not be pressed.
If this is not the cause of the malfunction, then first check to see if the socket is broken. Just connect any electrical appliance to it. If the problem is with the outlet, replace it. For now, you can connect the cooler to another power source.
If the cause of the malfunction is not in the socket, then you will have to disassemble the device. Remove the panel from the back of the cooler and check the condition of the fuse. Replace it if necessary.
If the problem is not identified again, then most likely the breakdown occurred in the heating element. To eliminate it, we strongly advise you to contact the service. You cannot fix such a water cooler malfunction on your own.
Also, sometimes there is another situation when water stops flowing from the taps, although the bottle is not yet empty.
This happens for only two reasons:
- the label was not removed when installing the bottle;
- An air lock has appeared, preventing the cooler from functioning properly. You can eliminate it very simply: shake the dispenser until bubbles appear in the container itself.
Proper operation of the cooler and compliance with the instructions will help avoid malfunctions. It is worth checking the functionality of the taps every time you change a water bottle.
Manufacturer maintenance of water cooler
According to sanitary and hygienic standards, it is necessary to clean a home cooler twice a year, and a device operating in an office, municipal institution or enterprise - at least four times a year. Cleaning a cooler consists of several stages:
- Descaling. Any water contains salts that settle on the hot water tank (on the walls and tubes), on the heating element in the form of lime and scale deposits. If the device is not cleaned in a timely manner, it simply fails.
- Mucus removal and disinfection. Changing the bottle causes microorganisms to enter it. They can be either absolutely harmless to humans or cause intestinal and viral diseases. This happens because the cork is not disinfected or the shrink caps and stickers are not removed. Air penetrates into the container, and with it harmful bacteria. Therefore, preventative cleaning of the dispenser is very important. It allows you to prevent not only water cooler malfunctions, but also various diseases.
To avoid the problems described above, it is worth using specialized equipment maintenance services. Do this at least once every six months.
Execution of warranty obligations must comply with the current legislation of the Russian Federation, as well as the rules of warranty service established by the manufacturer. Water coolers are guaranteed for 1 year from the date of purchase.
If the devices have damage or malfunctions caused by unfair operation, then the warranty does not apply to them. Thus, careless handling, incorrect connection, or violation of the requirements of the attached instructions are not covered under warranty.
Before sending the cooler to the service center, prepare it:
- Remove water using taps and drain pipe.
- Wipe down the device.
- Remove items in lockers (if any).
- Prepare the cooler for transportation by protecting the case with packing material.
- Indicate on it the name of the organization, address, and contact phone number. You can indicate the possible cause of the problem.
- If you are going to deliver the cooler to the service center yourself, then follow the transportation rules: compressor coolers must be transported vertically (tilt up to 45 degrees is possible), do not place the device on the condenser.
- If the device has additional damage and malfunctions (case defects, broken taps, etc.), it is worth checking whether these parts need to be replaced.
The approximate cost of dispenser repair and maintenance services is shown in the table:
Simple rules for operating water coolers
- Before replacing the bottle, you must wipe the neck and remove the hygiene sticker.
- It is worth wiping the surface of the bottle itself. She was in warehouses and on the road for a long time.
- Clean the bottle receiver and needle regularly. These places are most favorable for the growth of bacteria and their penetration into drinking water.
- After washing the device, at least half a glass of liquid is drained from the tap to remove any remaining detergent.
- The cooler must be protected from direct sunlight. Excessive lighting causes water to bloom. If there is nowhere to put the cooler except a place in the sun, it is covered with thick paper.
If there is a need to preserve the cooler for a long period (more than a week), then you need to properly prepare it for storage:
- disconnect from the network;
- remove the bottle;
- drain all the water using the cold water tap;
- remove the remaining liquid through the drain hole on the rear panel;
- dry the device overnight;
- put a plug in the drain fitting.
Upon completion of conservation, sanitize the dispenser.

Types of coolers that cool water
Modern manufacturers of heating and cooling water coolers are pleased to offer consumers a wide range of different models of various shapes, designs, sizes, functionality, design options, with or without additional options. Cooling drinking water is one of the most basic functions of any standard cooler, especially important during hot periods. There are two types of cooling - electronic and compressor. Let's look at each of them and take a closer look at all the advantages and disadvantages.
Electronic water cooler
The operation of electronic cooling systems for water coolers is based on the Peltier principle. The name of this principle was given by Jean Peltier, a French physicist who noticed and substantiated in 1834 the cooling of the junction of conductors when an electric current is passed through them. Russian academician A.F. Ioffe continued his research and synthesized a special semiconductor alloy, which made it possible to expand the application of the discovered effect and begin mass production of electrically cooled devices.
The main operating element in coolers with electronic water cooling systems is a semiconductor thermoelectric module, made up of several thermocouples connected together, placed between the plates. Under the influence of electric current, one of the plates heats up and the other cools, which creates the effect of a temperature difference.
Coolers with electronic water cooling have undeniable advantages:
- affordable price;
- simplicity of design;
- ease of transportation;
- environmental friendliness;
- lack of freon.
But there are also significant drawbacks. One of them is the low level of performance of electronic coolers: heating or cooling water no more than 5-6 glasses per hour. This is a low indicator for using a cooler in a crowded place. Another disadvantage is the ability to cool water only to 12 C, which is not enough for very hot weather.
All this suggests that it is not advisable to install coolers with electronic water cooling in a room with elevated air temperatures, because the water will take a very long time to cool. Unventilated or dusty rooms are also not suitable for installing coolers in them. Dust and dirt can clog the fan, and the cooling module of the equipment will completely fail.
In general, coolers with an electronic type of cooling are characterized as affordable equipment, the use of which is advisable with a minimum need for cold water. For offices of companies with a large number of employees and visitors, such equipment is not entirely convenient.
The cooler does not heat the water: reasons, troubleshooting tips
From this article you will learn:
- To what temperature does the water in the cooler heat up and what does it depend on?
- What to do if after turning on the cooler does not heat the water
- What are the main reasons why water heating in a cooler fails?
- How to restore water heating in a cooler yourself
- What to do to ensure that the water in the cooler always heats up
The popularity of coolers is constantly growing. Today, such water bottling devices can be found in apartments, houses, office or industrial premises. It has long been clear to everyone that a priori clean water cannot flow from a water tap. To buy or order delivery of water in large containers, you must have the appropriate equipment for its dosage, heating and cooling. At the same time, no matter how reliable the equipment is, it needs timely maintenance and qualified repairs. In this article we will tell you what to do if the cooler does not heat the water.
Self-repair or professional help?
As you can see, most common cooling problems can be resolved on your own. And yet, if your cooler does not work or does not cool the water, then it is better to play it safe and immediately call a technician who will conduct a comprehensive diagnosis of the equipment and prevent further aggravation of the problem.

To what temperature does the cooler heat water?
The operating principle of the cooler heating system is practically the same for different models. The design of such a system includes:
- storage tank for heating water (volume from 0.6 to 3 l) with thermal insulation protection;
- heating device (can be assembled with a heating container or is a separate unit). The heater power, depending on the model, is in the range of 400–1200 W;
- control board;
- 2 temperature sensors (the response temperature of the lower controller is from 70 °C to 86 °C, and the upper one is from 93 °C to 96 °C).
When the heating system is turned on, the dispenser heats the water in the cooler's storage tank until the upper temperature sensor is activated. The temperature of the liquid is brought to the value required for making coffee or tea. When the heating system is turned off, the water cools down. When its temperature drops to 70 °C, the lower temperature sensor will work and the heating equipment will turn on. The device operates cyclically. It heats up the water for a couple of minutes and then turns off for 10 or 20 minutes.
If you open the hot water tap, then instead of the flowing volume, liquid from the bottle will flow into the storage tank. This will cause the temperature inside the heating container to gradually decrease. When the temperature reaches the set value, the lower sensor will work and the cooler will quickly heat the incoming water.
It should be noted that operating the heating element without a water bottle installed will cause it to burn out. Such damage is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Employees of the cooler service center will easily determine the cause of the malfunction when diagnosing broken equipment, so always turn on the dispenser only after installing a bottle of water.
In order for the water cooler to work as long as possible without serious breakdowns and expensive repairs, it is necessary to follow the equipment maintenance schedule and the frequency of its prevention.
How to use a cooler correctly
There are several recommendations for the correct operation of the equipment, using which you can significantly increase the service life of the cooler and avoid costly repairs:
- Before installing a new cylinder, remove stickers, caps and hygienic film from the neck.
- Use only purified water.
- When the device is in cooling or heating mode, it must not be disconnected from the power supply.
- There is no need to use a thermostat while the cooler is operating in cooling mode.
- When the water container is empty, the cooler must be disconnected from the network.
- It is necessary to regularly clean the device (wiping the body 1-2 times a week).
What to do if the cooler stops heating water after turning it on for the first time
You bought a cooler and delivered it to your home, but you still don't have any water bottles. You can't wait to turn on your brand new device and check if its lights are on. This is one of the most common mistakes made by users of water bottling equipment that has not been used for a long time. Usually, after such actions, you have to call the service center with a complaint that the cooler does not heat the water. If you are reading these lines, then by avoiding this mistake, you can save at least 1 thousand rubles on repairing the burnt thermal protection of the dispenser.
Most often, the thermal protection of coolers is triggered due to the inattention of users or if they did not bother to read the operating instructions for the device.
Important!
The dispenser can be connected to the power supply only after you have made sure that all its storage tanks (heating and cooling) are filled with water to the required level. Otherwise, thermal protection will be triggered, protecting the heating elements from burning out. To turn on the triggered thermal protection, you will need a long screwdriver.
Although before repairing, you should make sure that the heating button on the back panel of the device is turned on. It happens that consumers, having forgotten to turn on this toggle switch, contact the service center with a complaint that the cooler does not heat the water. If the key is turned on and the heating system of the device does not work, you need to proceed to further actions. The cooler must first be disconnected from the electrical outlet.
The container in which the water is heated is located at the rear of the cooler body. For compressor models, this tank is visible through the compressor grille. If your model has an electronic cooling system, you must remove the decorative cover to see the heating tank.
The heating accumulator has the form of a cylinder in a casing made of thermal insulating material. On its body there are 2 two-contact groups. Between the contacts of one of the groups (most often the one located at the top) there is a thermal protection fuse. It looks like a small black button or microswitch, which you need to lightly press with a screwdriver. Then you need to make sure that the cooler containers are filled with water. To do this, you need to open both dispenser taps and wait until water flows out of them in a steady stream. Then connect the cooler to the power supply and set the heating switch on the rear panel to the on position.
Working principle of a water cooler
A cooler is a device through which employees and visitors to the offices of public and private companies can easily be provided with cold or hot water. The design consists of a dispenser and a container for drinking water in the form of a plastic bottle with a volume of 19-30 liters, as well as a check valve and a connecting pipe.
The drinking water tank is connected to the dispenser. The dispenser's distribution system consists of two containers that store hot and cold water. The cold water tank is filled first. From it, the liquid is supplied through a connecting pipe to the boiler and heated. The two containers are separated by a check valve, which balances the pressure of the system and prevents mixing of water flows.
So, the action of a heating and cooling cooler begins with the entry of a dosed amount of water into the storage tank for its subsequent cooling or heating. Power comes from a 220 V electrical network. Coolers are equipped with sensors to control water heating and cooling. Thanks to them, when the desired temperature is reached, the operation process stops and the device goes into a standby state without consuming electrical energy until the temperature changes. This mode is called “heating - shutdown”.
The rated power depends on the cooler model. Almost all of these devices are configured to heat water to +95-98 C and cool it to +4 C.
Improved models of coolers - purifiers are connected to the water supply, filtering and cooling or heating running water. Filtration is carried out by mechanical or chemical purification, providing 96-99% pure water.
Manufacturers of flow-through devices use the most highly effective achievements in the field of liquid purification used in medicine, pharmaceuticals, and perfumery. A carbon filter ensures that water gets rid of unpleasant odors and harmful impurities, purifies it and improves its taste.
Why the cooler does not heat the water: the most common reasons
There are several reasons why the cooler does not heat the water. As noted above, users often simply forget to turn on the heating mode. Check the toggle switch located on the back wall of the device. It must be set to I or ON position.
It's possible that your cooler isn't heating the water because the electrical outlet it's connected to is broken. To check, you can use any working electrical appliance. If there is no voltage, connect the dispenser to another power source. After connecting the device to a working outlet, pay attention to the heating indicator. If it does not turn on, you should check the fuse on the back of the dispenser. If it burns out, you need to insert a new element.
The reason that the cooler does not heat the water may be the technical characteristics of the device. Average models are designed to heat 5 liters of water per hour to a temperature of 92–97 °C. In this case, the volume of the dispenser’s heating storage tank is usually enough for two cups of water (up to 0.5 l).
To ensure that the device has time to heat water, do not use it until the heating indicator goes out. In addition, you need to take into account the manufacturer’s recommendations for the maximum number of consumers (using the device too intensively can lead to various malfunctions).
Bottom loading cooler does not supply water
When the bottle is loaded into the cooler into its lower part, the water supply to the taps is organized by a special pump. It happens that the pump itself works, but the liquid does not flow out. Most likely, the reason lies in the broken tightness of the joints connecting the tubes connected to the bottle.
The fact that the pump is not functioning can be determined by the absence of the noise that it usually makes. You should inspect the pump, as well as check the electronic control and monitoring elements, and examine the operation of the fan. It is best if a specialist does this.
The cooler does not heat the water, what to do: step-by-step repair
Dispenser disassembly sequence:
- On the back wall of the cooler housing, use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the screws. A heating reservoir with temperature sensors is located in the upper part of the device body.
- A drain plug is rigidly fixed on the right side of the body (water is drained through it). On the left there is another hole with a plug for draining water from the cooling system.
- Using an open-end wrench No. 15, you need to dismantle the rubber seal. Then use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the 4 screws.
- We cut off the clamps from the pipe, dismantle the heating tank and all the tubes.
- We disconnect the power wires, temperature sensors and ground wires with six screws.
- There should be white thermal paste on the seats of the heating storage tank; if it is missing, then such a compound must be applied before installing the tank.
- We assemble the device in the reverse order.
When the device is assembled, you need to install the bottle and completely fill the system with water. Now we check how it flows, and if everything is fine, connect the cooler to the power supply. Lighting indicator lights will indicate that the problem has been resolved.
Cooler is leaking
- In 95% of cases the problem lies in the bottle itself. Cracks in the bottle
lead to an imbalance in the cooler's hydraulic system, which is why water leaks. It may seem to you that water is flowing from the bottom of the cooler - this is true, with this problem it flows through the entire cooler and spills onto the floor. This problem can sometimes not be diagnosed simply by visual inspection - try installing another bottle and checking if the leak is fixed. - The problem may also be that the drain plug
on the rear panel of the cooler is not screwed on properly. Try tightening it more tightly or purchasing it and replacing it with a new one. - One of the silicone
supply or outlet tubes is leaking. For diagnostics, unscrew the back panel and check the integrity or tightness of the tube connections. If there are cracks, you can buy and replace the tubes yourself. - If you have a cooler with water supply by pressing with a cup, then check to see if the part above the lever has unscrewed, or if cracks have appeared in the plastic
. Check for cracks both outside and inside, under the panel. - Check the heating tank or cold water tank
. If there are drops on them and water collects from below, then you should contact a specialist to replace the necessary spare part.
Often when there is a problem, they try to find other reasons, where it is written exactly that the cooler is leaking from underneath. In case of any breakdown accompanied by a leak, the cooler will leak from BOTTOM, since water flows downwards - this is physics J. Your task or the task of the master is to determine where the leak begins, and not where it leads.
Preventing cooler breakdown in water heating mode
The quality of bottled water for drinking is regulated by SanPiN of Russia. According to sanitary and epidemiological standards, such water is subject to mineralization. For water of the first category, the inclusion of useful minerals is provided up to 1000 mg/l, and for products of the highest category - from 200 to 500 mg/l.
During the operation of the dispenser, a deposit of some of the minerals and salts present in the water forms inside the heating container, on the check valve, on taps and on other elements. These deposits impair the performance of the dispenser.
As scale builds up on the walls of the heating tank, the temperature sensors produce increasingly incorrect data on the water temperature. At the same time, the cooler does not heat the water so quickly and efficiently (the energy consumption of the device increases).
Statistics collected from service centers show that without periodic maintenance, cleaning and maintenance, coolers can last up to 4 years. After this, consumers have to change the storage tank.
Regular maintenance of the device not only allows you to remove scale from the cooler parts, but also contributes to a higher quality of consumed water.
Experts recommend sanitary cleaning of dispensers at least once every six months.
This frequency is provided by the manufacturer for a fully functional cooler. If your dispenser does not heat the water as quickly or the water begins to change its taste, you should not wait until the next date for preventive maintenance of the device. Timely maintenance of the cooler will prevent its breakdown, which, as we know, happens unexpectedly and at the most inopportune moment.
To clean the dispenser yourself, you need to prepare:
- damp cloth;
- detergent composition;
- washcloth for washing dishes;
- Phillips screwdriver.
Before starting work, you need to unplug the cooler from the outlet and remove the water bottle. Wash all surfaces of the device with a sponge and detergent. Particular care must be taken to clean the needle on which the bottle is placed and the surrounding elements. After this, you need to wash the tray of the device, rinse it under a stream of water and wipe it well. Now you can assemble and prepare the cooler for use. Before plugging the device into an electrical outlet, do not forget to install the bottle and fill its containers with water. If the dispenser works normally, then the cause of the malfunction was due to contamination.
Methods for eliminating cooler leaks
The cause of malfunction of the equipment may be the settling of untreated water deposits on the walls of the device. As a result, clogging occurs, which is why the cooler begins to leak or the water stops flowing.
In this case, you can troubleshoot the problem in the following way:
- Turn off the device. This can be achieved by pressing the “0” or “Off” buttons on the back of the device. After this, you need to remove the plug from the outlet (disconnect from the power supply).
- Get the container.
- Wash it thoroughly using detergent.
- Rinse the bottle.
- Clean all thin taps, eliminating any detergent remaining in them.
- Put it in place. Drain half a liter of water, washing away any remaining detergent.
The reason may be damage to the water container or the appearance of cracks on it. If during inspection they are identified, then the breakdown can be solved by simply replacing the damaged container with a new one. To replace, you must first turn off the device, disconnect the bottle and replace it with a new one. Damaged items are returned to the supplier.
It is important to pay attention to the amount of water in the bottle. It should be poured so that the liquid does not exceed the level of the neck. If the leak stops when you remove the container, this indicates that the problem is in the bottle itself.
The cause of the leak may also be a malfunction of the taps. You need to look at them carefully. If a breakdown is detected, the taps must be replaced.
The cooler may leak from under the cap on top. To determine this, you can remove the bottle and then look into the bottle receiver glass. If it is full, then the cause has been found. To solve the problem, you need to replace the lid on the container. You can purchase it in a specialized store. It doesn't matter if it's disposable or reusable.
Recommendations for use and care
In order for the device to last longer, you must follow the operating instructions for the water cooler. Namely:
- install the device in dry rooms away from sunlight;
- Make sure that the floor surface under the dispenser is level;
- do not place the unit near heating and heating devices;
- Connect the cooler only to grounded outlets.
After installing a new bottle, you need to wait a few minutes until the tanks are filled with water, and only then put the device into working condition.
