Videos on how to pack things in a suitcase are some of the most popular, although any traveler probably has his own life hacks. If during isolation and quarantine you have lost your skill in packing a suitcase, and you are planning a trip for the New Year holidays, brush up on your knowledge.
Now there will be a strange comparison: a suitcase is like a dishwasher. Have you ever noticed that if the car is loaded by different family members, one person can fit the plates after a sumptuous dinner for twelve people, while the other can barely fit the dishes in after a very modest meal? Everyone just has different tactics and strategies for filling space.
- Don't put things in your suitcase a few days before departure: you will only remember them ahead of time.
- Start packing on the second to last day or, if you think you have enough time, even on the last day before departure. Thanks to the list, you can quickly transfer things from the collection point to your suitcase. It will take less time than if you fold one item every day for a week.
- Suitcases are constantly rearranged and rearranged during transportation, so it is worth putting lighter clothes on top so as not to wrinkle them, and heavier things on the bottom.
- If there is not enough space inside your suitcase, wear larger items: this way they will wrinkle less and will not take up space.
- Before you close your suitcase, think about it. If something just doesn’t fit, ask yourself a simple question: am I sure I will need it? Feel free to cross this item out. Or compact things even more tightly: it’s either hit or miss!
Sweatshirts, shirts and other items with long sleeves
Clothes with sleeves are more difficult to fold and risk wrinkles.
Where should we put them? The instructions again refer to the roll method. There is a difference. This option is suitable for sweaters, sports jackets, turtlenecks, and jumpers. Instructions:
- Straighten the clothes, smooth them with your hands. Remove creases. Fasten the zippers and buttons.
- Take the sleeve, fold it inward at an angle so that the cuff reaches the center of the bottom of the product.
- Smooth out the sleeve. Gently lift the cuff towards your shoulder at the same angle.
- Repeat with the second sleeve.
- Fold the jacket in half, roll it up, and put it compactly in a suitcase.
½ or ¾ sleeves are folded inward without additional folds. This results in fewer folds.
What is the fate of jumpers, shirts, T-shirts and blouses?
In the wardrobe of the vast majority of people, regardless of their gender, there is something with long sleeves: sweatshirts, jumpers, sweaters, shirts, polos and many other items. They also need to be stored neatly and compactly.
Freshly ironed items lend themselves best to folding, which is why we recommend starting the process with ironing and cooling the clothes.
- All the buttons on the shirt are fastened, and then it is laid with the right side (where the buttons are) down.
- The edges of the shirt are neatly straightened.
- The sleeves are straightened perpendicular to the body and then folded so that the cuffs match the bottom of the shirt.
- The lower part is folded in half along with the sleeves.
- The folded shirt is turned upside down and placed where it has a place.
Above we described a method for how to fold a shirt without wrinkles, but in reality it is suitable for all long-sleeved clothing and will also help answer the question “how to fold a jacket?” By the way, based on the points of the algorithm listed above, you can also create your own ideal way of folding a T-shirt.
How to properly stack folded items
Knowing how to fold your pants correctly is not enough to simplify your search and keep things organized. If the jeans are not lying correctly, over time the interior of the closet will return to chaos, and the jeans will again become wrinkled, and sometimes forgotten.
kak-slozhit-dzhinsyi-2 kak-slozhit-dzhinsyi-4
To avoid a mess, jeans should be folded in the closet, following the rules:
- pants must be alternated with the side of the fold so that the “slide” does not fall on its side;
- the stacks should be located next to each other, without blocking access to the necessary things;
- laying jeans so that only one fold is visible to the eye while pulling out the pants, this will avoid grabbing an unnecessary pair:
- arrange products by color;
- thick pants down, thin pants on top.
Useful
All clothing placed in the closet must be clean. The folds of the jeans must be straightened and the contents of the pockets removed.
Bonus. How to better organize space in your suitcase
If you need to cram a lot of things into a small suitcase, press down on top with your knee. There are also less radical methods. Let's highlight three useful things for packing luggage: vacuum bags, organizer covers and compression bags.
Compression (vacuum) bags
Many people use vacuum bags at home to save space in the closet: they put winter clothes inside, suck out the air with a vacuum cleaner and get a bag three times smaller in volume. For trips, take the same thing, only without the valve for the vacuum cleaner. The air from the compression bag is pumped out by simply twisting it.
Lightweight organizers-cases for things
You can pack at least the entire contents of your suitcase into rectangular organizers of different sizes. If you have a large family, divide the covers between everyone and sign them so as not to get confused. Choose simple and lightweight models. For example, the mesh Deuter Zip Pack 6 weighs 65 grams.
Compression travel bags
If you are planning an active holiday, take a closer look at compression tourist bags that are tightened with straps. You can pack not only a sleeping bag in them, but also clothes. In nature, they are more convenient than bags because they do not tear so easily, which means you can lay them out on prickly grass and stones as much as you like. They will also come in handy when traveling around cities and sights, especially if you disassemble and reassemble your backpack several times.

We put everything on shelves in the closet
The habit of quickly stuffing things into the closet, without even folding them, leads to the fact that after some time a mess settles on the shelves. Everything will get wrinkled and lose its appearance, and this will only add extra hassle with things. It is better to initially put things in the closet correctly for perfect order, and there is a way for each type of accessory.
Socks
It happens differently with socks. Usually we lay them out so that one sock is in the other, sometimes we form a lump out of them. But these are not the ways in which optimal space is maintained. It is more convenient to fold socks more compactly and according to other patterns.
- Place the left sock over the right one and roll it into a small but tight roll. After this, tighten the roll with an elastic band and carefully fold it into place.
- Place one sock on the second and visually divide them into three relatively equal parts. Fold the top part with the elastic band into the middle, and then do the same with the bottom part. Then tuck the sock into the elastic band to make a compact envelope.
Skirts
Keeping your skirt in perfect condition is quite easy. The hanger won't be useful. Fold the skirt in half lengthwise and then roll it into a not very tight roll. Such packages are stored in vertical and horizontal positions, do not wrinkle for a long time and are neatly placed in the closet.
T-shirts, tennis suits, wrestling shoes and T-shirts
It is important to be able to fold things carefully, and at the same time as quickly as possible. There are several ways to fold T-shirts and tank tops compactly in a short period of time.
- To begin, place the T-shirt on something flat and draw two lines figuratively: one horizontally in the middle, and the other along the center of the seam on the shoulder.
- With your left hand, grab the fabric where these two lines intersect, and with your right hand, grab the center of the seam on the shoulder.
- Then pull your right hand to the bottom of the thing and grab the edge. At the end, simply pull out your left hand without releasing the fabric. With practice, this method can easily fold a T-shirt in just a couple of seconds.
Jumpers, blouses and shirts
For blouses and jumpers, the method suitable for folding T-shirts is not suitable at all. A different method is used for them.
- Place the ironed and buttoned shirt with its back facing up.
- Fold the sleeves inward so that they lie parallel to each other along the shirt.
- In your imagination, divide the shirt into three proportional parts, first fold the lower part inward, and then the central one.
With this method, storing shirts is simplified, and they do not wrinkle for a long time. At any time, taking out a wardrobe item and putting it on, you can be confident in your neat appearance.
Trousers and jeans
Folding jeans compactly and neatly is quite simple.
- To do this, remove the belt and take out the contents of all pockets.
- Lay the jeans out on a surface and straighten out all the wrinkles, then fold them lengthwise, placing one pant leg on top of the other.
- Fold the bottom of each pant leg toward the waistband and then fold it again, bringing the bottom edge toward the top.
The resulting envelope can be easily placed on a closet shelf, leaving a lot of free space.
Jackets
It is advisable to hang jackets on hangers, but sometimes there is not enough space for this. Either there are simply no hangers of suitable stiffness or width. The solution to the problem will be to use the instructions for shirts. Place all jackets in a stack on racks so they won’t get wrinkled and will be easy to find. Form the pack in such a way that seasonal items are at the top, and those that are not suitable for the current time of year in terms of fabric density remain at the bottom. This will save time when quickly changing clothes or rushing to get ready in the morning.
How to fold pants and skirts correctly
- Fold the trouser legs one on top of the other, but be careful: if they are jeans, you can fold them vertically along the seams, but suit trousers are a different matter, they need to be folded along the arrows.
- Now fold them in half. If we are talking about jeans, then if you want, you can first fold the top part, and then fold it in half again, or roll them into a tight roller entirely.
- If they are suit trousers and the suitcase is long enough, you can leave them like that (in the shape of a rectangle) or fold them in half (receiving a square) and, if you like, in thirds.
- Fold the skirt in half and then roll it up. You can start either from the waistband or from the hem - the fold will still remain in the center. Hopefully it will straighten out when you hang things up when you arrive. If possible, choose skirts made from fabrics that do not wrinkle as soon as you put them on and take up very little space when folded.
Placement methods
Not all travelers know how to properly fold a business suit into a suitcase so that when taken out, it remains in excellent condition. Today, many effective recommendations and techniques have been invented that allow you to store things in their original form. Each of them has its own characteristics, which we will try to understand.
Roller
One of the most popular methods is cylinder laying. The latter fits compactly at the bottom of the bag without taking up extra space. To use this technique, follow these steps:
- Turn one of the sleeves of the jacket inside out, not forgetting to adjust the collar stand.
- The inverted part must be straightened and inserted into another lapel. During the process, make sure that all the bumps and wrinkles are straightened out, otherwise you will end up with a piece of awkwardly fitting, folded material.
- Next, place the jacket on a flat surface, carefully leveling it along the edges to create a perfect rectangle.
- Before folding, the sleeve must be placed on top.
- To prevent hangers from losing their shape, folded underwear or socks are placed in them.
- Next, roll the jacket tightly with a wrinkle-free roller and place it at the bottom of the travel bag.
Rectangle
In order for the tailcoat to remain uncrumpled after the journey, it is enough to give it a geometrically correct shape. The sequence of work is as follows:
- The jacket is turned inside out so that the lining is on the outside. Then all the kinks and wrinkles will remain on the inside.
- For external alignment, the shoulder elements must be straightened from the inside. This procedure is necessary so that voluminous hangers do not become an obstacle.
- Next, grab the product by the shoulders with one hand, and with the other you need to grab the collar (middle). The outfit is bent along its entire length.
- The jacket is then wrinkled in half through the elbow.
If all actions are performed according to the instructions, the item will take the shape of a rectangle.
Without eversion
This method of laying a jacket should not cause difficulties, however, when using it, creases may appear. It is used in cases where upon arrival you will have the opportunity to iron or steam your clothes.
the item of clothing is placed on a flat surface with the buttons down; the first sleeve with a shoulder is folded towards the middle of the back; a similar procedure is carried out with the second; please note that they must be parallel to the seams; any other things should also lie lengthwise; The trousers are placed on one of the halves of the tailcoat, and the other is covered. As a result, they will end up inside the outfit. After transportation, the jacket will require minimal ironing or standard steaming
After shipping, the jacket will require minimal ironing or standard steaming.
If it happens that there is no iron in your hotel room or nearby, take the advice of avid travelers - slightly crumpled wardrobe items should be hung on a trellis and placed in the bathroom. At the same time, open the hot water tap (steam must form). In half an hour, your addition to your look will look great without ironing.

Features of storing knitted items
Like any fabric, knitwear has only its own qualities. The first is the ability to become saturated with surrounding odors, which, by the way, are not always pleasant. And it can be difficult to get rid of them.
The second is resistance to creasing. But this does not mean at all that knitted items can be stored haphazardly, crumpled or twisted. Such storage will inevitably lead to the formation of unsightly folds and creases on clothes, which, like the smell, cannot be quickly eliminated.
And the most unpleasant property of knitted products is sagging and stretching. Surely you have noticed that if a blouse or cardigan hangs on a hanger, the shoulder line stretches, the shoulder contour sags, the product becomes deformed, looks unaesthetic, the sleeves and hem stretch. It is not always possible to return a product to its previous appearance.
And no hangers, including special soft and bulky ones, will save the situation. Storing on hangers or even thrown over a bar is an absolute taboo for any knitwear.
Quick ways to fold a cotton robe
Not all medical staff have the opportunity to leave their gowns within the walls of the hospital or clinic. Clothes must be taken home, washed frequently and ironed every morning. It’s good if you have an iron at work, you can use it to give things the perfect look in a matter of minutes. But what if you don't have a household appliance at hand? Use some tips for proper folding.
Method No. 1
- choose a perfectly flat and clean horizontal surface, a table or ironing board will do;
- lay out the robe, iron it with your palms so that creases do not form on the fabric later;
- bend it in half so that the shoulder seams touch each other;
- connect the sleeves, carefully fold them and place them in the center;
- after all the manipulations, proceed to twisting the item;
- starting from the collar, form a roll or “roll”.
Method No 2:
- take the ironed robe by the shoulders;
- be sure to check that the floors are in perfect contact, try to level the product as much as possible;
- fold clothes in half, vertically;
- Continue to hold the hanger with one hand, connect the floors and the back with the other;
- place the robe on a flat surface;
- bend the sleeves from the shoulder seam so that they are on one of the floors;
- Fold the product in half again and pack.
Using a substrate
Any flat rectangular thing will do, for example, a book, a general notebook, a document folder, a pack of tights, or a not very voluminous box made of thick cardboard. Fasten all buttons before folding. Place the robe face down on a table or ironing board. Place a backing (in this case, a book) under the collar.
- Fold both sleeves at the shoulder and elbow so that they are directly on the book.
- Fold the hems of the robe starting from the right side, do the same on the left.
- The long hem must be folded several times, wrapping it around the book.
- After this, carefully remove the backing. The method is quite fast and easy. With a little practice and patience, you will learn how to fold your workwear perfectly evenly.
Student style
This method is used not only by students of medical universities, but also by doctors, nurses, and housewives:
First you need to turn the robe inside out. Place your arms through the sleeves and bring them together. Bend the product vertically so that the floors of the left and right sides match as closely as possible. Place the item on a horizontal surface
Pay special attention to the collar, carefully leveling it. After all the manipulations, it’s time to fold the robe: in half or roll it up.
Final inspection
Make sure there are no wrinkled areas on the robe. The item must be perfectly flat. Once you are sure of this, you can pack. If this is a medical gown, then most often a regular plastic bag is used to transport it. Or buy a ziplock bag of a suitable size, this is a bag with a lock or a gripper. Zip-lock has a high density and does not allow air and moisture to pass through. Place the robe into the bag carefully, placing the product on your palm. Before fastening the ziplock, straighten the fabric.
If the robe has a belt, it is better to remove it, roll it up and pack it separately.
Ways to pack some things
If you are bringing a jacket with you, it is best to roll it shoulder to shoulder. To do this, turn one sleeve inside out and insert your hand into it from the edge to the body. Take the edge of the unturned sleeve and pull it inside the inverted one. The hangers will align. It is better to raise the collar. Match the floors and carefully fold the jacket in half. This way your jacket will practically not get wrinkled and probably won’t get dirty. Coats and thick raincoats are folded in the same way.
- Men's shirts need to be buttoned, but only half the buttons, every other, and the collar should be raised and straightened.
- It is better to roll scarves made of crinkled material into a rope.
- In hats and caps, place soft things inside, rolled into rolls, so that the headdress does not become deformed.
- When you arrive, you should unpack your things. If the jacket is still a little wrinkled, hang it on a hanger over the bathtub and run hot water. In humid air, the jacket will straighten out after a while. You can also make a shirt look divine.
In the video below you can see one of the successful (though masculine) options for how to put things in a suitcase conveniently and compactly.
The second video shows a simple and amazingly fast way to fold T-shirts and polo shirts.
Have a nice trip with a properly packed suitcase!
First way. One of the most common ways to arrange things is the stacking method. Although this is not the most effective method, it is quite simple. You just need to put things in the same way you put them in a closet or chest of drawers - layer by layer. Fold everything carefully. It is advisable to place a layer of paper between things. This way you can protect your clothes from wrinkled appearance and unnecessary folds. When using this method, the volume of the suitcase does not increase.
Second method: The next styling method is twisting. When using this option, the clothes are rolled up in the form of a roll - always tightly and always compactly. This is done in order to increase the internal space of the suitcase. This method is best suited for clothes made from wrinkle-resistant fabrics. After the items are folded, all folds and wrinkles that appear must be smoothed out with your hands. Pants are usually made of wrinkle-resistant fabric. Therefore, they are placed at the very bottom of the suitcase. The trouser legs should remain loose. The rest of the folded clothing is placed on top of the trousers, and then the pant legs are laid out. Then the trousers wrinkle much less.
Third way. You can stack things using the layering method. Layering is better than all other methods to avoid wrinkles. The installation is done as follows. On a flat surface, perhaps on a bed, heavy things are stacked on top of each other first. Clothes should be smoothed with your hands to reduce creases. All small items are placed in the middle of the resulting stack - socks, underwear, etc. After this, the stack is folded in half, avoiding the appearance of wrinkles. In this form, things are packed into a suitcase.
The fourth method. And finally, the last method is vacuum packaging. Things are put in a large plastic bag. And the air is removed (sucked out) from the bag using a vacuum cleaner. The entire contents of the vacuum packaging are strongly compressed and take on a compact appearance. However, if you use this method, the things in the bag become pretty wrinkled and you will have to take a small travel iron or steamer with you. In addition, when leaving back from vacation, you are unlikely to be able to pack your things in the same way, due to the lack of a vacuum cleaner.
Whatever method you choose, remember to take only the necessary things with you.
Marie Kondo's method
For ideal order according to Marie Kondo's method, all things belonging to a single category are stored in one place. For example, books are stacked in a bookcase. The same goes for clothes: they should only be in the wardrobe. After use, any item is put back in its place - this will help avoid a long search for it.
According to Marie Kondo's method, things are sorted into categories. Within each category there is a division by color and size.
After vertically folding the products, they are sent to drawers-bedside tables. The clothes are rolled up like sushi or take the form of a rectangle. The height of the latter should be slightly less than the height of the box.
If you follow the method, it is more convenient to use chests of drawers rather than a wardrobe. As for organizers and partitions, it is preferable to replace them with shoe boxes. This does not mean that clothes are not hung. Dresses, suits and winter outerwear cannot be stored in bundles, so they are hung on hangers. The following principle is preferable: the lightest items are hung on the right, the heaviest on the left. The following storage sequence takes place (from left to right):
- jackets, coats, raincoats;
- suits, jackets, blazers;
- dresses;
- trousers;
- skirts;
- light sweaters and shirts.
How to neatly fold a robe
There are several ways to fold your robe compactly into a closet so that it does not wrinkle on the shelf. It is not always possible to do this the first time, but after several attempts, anyone will be able to lay the item quickly and efficiently.
How to fold a terry robe compactly
The situation when a terry kimono becomes wrinkled occurs infrequently - dense fabric is less susceptible to creasing. But if you don’t pay attention to folding your clothes correctly, then sooner or later you will have to face an unpleasant problem.
You can pack your favorite warm item neatly and compactly in the following way:
- clothes are folded in half in a vertical plane so that the shoulders are evenly in contact with each other;
- the sleeves are folded inward;
- the item is quickly rolled up tightly or folded in three, depending on how it is more convenient to pack it for storage in the closet.
How to fold a medical gown
You can fold your robe beautifully so that it always remains fresh in a couple of minutes. This is done like this:
- the item of clothing is laid out on a flat and clean surface;
- the fabric is carefully smoothed with your hands so as not to leave creases and folds;
- the item is folded in half, placing the shoulder seams exactly on top of each other;
- the sleeves are connected in one line and neatly folded in the center.
After this, all that remains is to fold the item 3 times so that it acquires a compact appearance, but the collar does not wrinkle. After several workouts, you will no longer have to deal with the fact that your work clothes are wrinkled and need to be ironed urgently.
How to fold a bathrobe
To prevent the snow-white soft kimono for saunas and baths from becoming wrinkled, it is also recommended to carefully store it in a closet in a compact form. You can do this this way:
- the right hand is inserted into the right sleeve and turned inside out;
- with the left hand they grab the left shoulder of the item, and then push the sleeves into each other;
- the kimono, easily and quickly folded in half from the wrong side, is placed on the table and the folds are carefully straightened out;
- clothes are folded 3 times or rolled tightly, moving from the neck to the floors.
The belt can be wrapped evenly around the folded item.
How to fold a robe with a hood
At first glance, it seems that the most difficult thing to neatly arrange is a robe that has a hood. This element interferes with folding, and you have to deal with the fact that the fabric is wrinkled. But if you know simple technology, the hood will only be useful:
- The left sleeve is pulled to the right shoulder, and then the left shoulder is carefully folded and the sleeve is lowered down along the left side.
- A similar manipulation is done for the right sleeve.
- The fabric is smoothed with your palms and begins to be rolled up from the bottom.
When only a thick roll of fabric remains below the line of the hood and collar, all that remains is to put this roll directly into the hood. Thus, the hood will help to avoid a situation in which your favorite kimono gets wrinkled and will serve as a kind of cover.
How to fold a robe as a gift
If you plan to give a beautiful and bright robe to the birthday boy, then you need to be especially careful that it does not wrinkle. The algorithm for folding things as a gift looks like this:
- the item is laid out on a large table and the floors are leveled, and buttons are fastened, if any;
- turn it upside down and place a thick cardboard backing in the center of the back, its upper edge should be hidden under the collar;
- the sleeves are folded together, aligned along the shoulders and elbows;
- the sides are bent along the right and left sides of the substrate;
- The hem is folded several times, bending it towards the shoulder seams.
After this, you can remove the backing, or you can leave it if the cardboard is clean and beautiful enough. The gift is tied with a bright festive ribbon. When using this method, the fabric will remain completely flat, without folds or creases, and you won’t have to worry about the beautiful thing getting wrinkled.
How to fold a robe
If you fold the item well, it will become very compact, and you won’t have to worry about it getting wrinkled in the closet. However, clothes folded several times still take up some space on the shelf, and storing them may be difficult. In addition, folded clothes are difficult to carry around in a bag without getting wrinkled.
For even more convenient storage and transportation, it is recommended to roll up the medical gown or home clothes. This is very simple to do - first you need to fold the garment using one of the methods listed above, and ensure that the sleeves lie evenly in the center or on the sides. Then the item simply begins to be rolled from the bottom or top into a tight roll.
If you take your time and don’t miss random creases, then at the right moment you can remove the item from your bag or closet and make sure that it is not wrinkled at all.
Jeans and trousers
The products need to be straightened, one trouser leg folded to the other. The bottom of the product must be connected to the top. The trousers are folded in half, and then in half again. As a result, they do not wrinkle.
Things take up very little space in a bag or closet. Some trouser styles can be rolled up. You can fold other items from your wardrobe in a similar way, including jackets and outerwear.
Tips for organizing closet storage
Proper organization of clothing storage saves time. If you systematically approach the placement of things and objects, the order on the shelves and drawers will remain longer, and products will no longer get lost. For frequently used items, you need to choose shelves and drawers with easy access.
Cabinets with shelves 60–70 cm deep, despite the large internal space, have a small usable area. They need to be filled halfway, or better yet a quarter, while the space in the center should remain empty. When things are laid out around the perimeter of the shelf, access to them is equally open, it is convenient to take them and neatly put them back. Horizontal sections can be completely filled only for long-term storage; the very top part of the cabinet is reserved for this purpose.
There are several convenient ways to store knitted sweaters, sweaters, and sweatshirts:
Drawer. You can put long-sleeve sweaters here, rolling them up or placing them in horizontal stacks. Organizers for storage: they can be hanging (attached to a rod) or in the form of boxes with compartments. One thing is laid out in each cell, and it is desirable that there is free space in the compartments. Shelves in the closet. Here you can place jackets and sweaters in rolls or small piles
It is important that all things are visible and do not overlap each other. Fluffy sweaters with long fibers should be laid on top so that they do not become deformed under other clothes.
Boxes, trunks, baskets - will serve when, with the onset of the warm season, you need to put knitted and woolen items on the far shelf. In them, the knitwear will not become covered with dust, and the fibers will not roll off due to friction against other clothes. When putting things in boxes, it is advisable to line them with sheets of paper, and add a natural fragrance to each box that protects against moths.
Fold your cosmetics bag and toiletries compactly
- Do not take large containers with you. If possible, pour the shampoo and conditioner into small bottles in advance, or purchase special mini camping versions.
- Do the same with creams, gels and tonics.
- If you are afraid that during the road the bottle may open and stain all your clothes, place cling film between the neck and the lid.
- To prevent powder, blush or eye shadow from spilling, place several cotton pads under the lid.
- Decorative cosmetics can also be purchased in mini versions, and when it runs out, just throw away the bottle.
- Use special organizers. They will accommodate cosmetics and toiletries as compactly as possible.
Useful tips
To make life easier, here are a few tips to follow:
- Remove everything at once. Don't listen to stories about step-by-step cleaning. If you clean it in parts every day, it will last forever. Lifestyle habits acquired over the years are difficult to change. By removing immediately, the result is visible. It gives a feeling of peace.
- Clean up alone. Do not display items that have been collected for disposal to the public. Take them out with the trash yourself, because parents are concerned about the volume of things thrown away and their usefulness.
- One view at a time. People store the same type of clothes in different places throughout the apartment. Therefore, gradual cleaning does not work. Marie Kondo's method allows you to fold, for example, outerwear on a shelf in the living room, and trousers in the bedroom, etc.
- Throw away the documents. Sort all the papers in the apartment into two piles. Place important documentation (insurance, employment contracts, rental agreements, birth certificates, passports, etc.) in the first one that remains. The rest needs to be sorted out and thrown away (old instructions from equipment, bills, coupons, receipts). Do not store documents horizontally. Buy rigid folders for vertical storage to avoid chaos.
- First, get rid of the trash, and then start cleaning. According to Marie Kondo, cleaning and getting rid of unnecessary things at the same time is a mistake. The effectiveness of her method lies in getting rid of the trash first. And after that you can arrange the remaining things. Garbage must be taken out immediately.
Important! To part with an unnecessary item, you can talk to it as a person. Thank him for his service and don’t regret it when it’s time to throw it away. . Thanks to these tips, cleaning will no longer be endless.
Thanks to these tips, cleaning will no longer be endless.
Baby clothes
Clothes for babies are used more often than clothing items for adults, so such items need a separate area. Suits, dresses and trousers should be hung on hangers, ironed beforehand. This way you can avoid problems with preparing your child for kindergarten or school in the morning.
Place socks and tights in a separate drawer. Before this, you need to twist each product into a tight roller. T-shirts, panties and tank tops are ironed and placed on the shelf. Everyday clothes are placed in a separate section located next to these products.
Putting things in a suitcase
Only at first glance it may seem that putting things in a suitcase is not at all difficult, but just think about how to fit into it several favorite dresses, five pairs of shoes that you will probably wear at sea, and countless T-shirts? Of course, you can just stuff it all in, but what will things look like when you take them out upon arrival?
Just don’t despair, travel fans, now we will look at the main steps that will help you efficiently and correctly put things in your suitcase in order to go on a long-awaited vacation.
Step one: think and decide what you want to take with you. It all depends on where you are going to go. If you are planning a vacation in the forest or mountains, then it is advisable to take sports shoes and comfortable clothes with you, but if you are at sea, then take beach shoes and plenty of shorts and T-shirts.
But in any case, check the weather forecast for the next week, because if rain is predicted, it is better to stock up on warm clothes.
Let's get started with this.
Necessary things | What to take with you? |
Cloth | Don't rush to pack a bunch of clothes into your suitcase. First, lay out everything you plan to take on the bed and soberly evaluate whether you need to take everything with you. Choose clothes so that any T-shirt goes perfectly with all shorts and flip-flops. |
Shoes | Don't take all your shoes with you and hope you'll wear them all! After all, every year you become convinced that you wear only sandals at sea, but don’t even take out the whole pile of shoes called “what if I wear them to a cafe.” Therefore, pack a maximum of three pairs with you; it is best to take any sports shoes, flip-flops and one pair of sandals for an evening walk. |
Cosmetic set | Here, of course, each girl has a purely individual approach. Bring a minimum set of cosmetics with you, let your skin rest at sea, but personal hygiene products such as shower gel, soap and toothpaste can be purchased on the spot. |
Decorations | It’s better not to take your favorite jewelry. Believe that while you are sunbathing on the beach, your thoughts will not be about the sea and relaxation, but about whether someone will take them from your room. Therefore, the most you can take with you in terms of jewelry is good jewelry. |
Medicines | But be sure to take your medications with you. A first aid kit with basic medications should be collected at home. Add the following into it:
|
Documentation | Don't forget to check for passports, tickets, cards and anything else you'll need for your trip. To be on the safe side, keep copies of your passport details and tickets. |
Technique | If you take a tablet, camera, or video camera with you, be sure to put all the chargers for them in your bag. |
Step two: now we put the selected items in the suitcase:
- Wrap your socks in a roll and put them in your shoes: this will free up space for other things and protect your shoes from damage on the road. Pack all your things tightly: this way they will maintain their integrity during the trip.
- Roll up all kinds of blouses and T-shirts into a roller shape and place them at the very bottom of the suitcase.
- Place polyethylene or parchment paper between layers of things: they will not rub against each other and will better preserve their appearance.
- If you decide to take shirts with you, you can fold them neatly using a magazine or thick cardboard. It will be convenient to place them as a second layer.
- Do not put all kinds of breakable bottles with perfume or shaving foam in the main compartment of the suitcase; check their tightness and place them in different pockets.
- Do not put shoes together, place each sandal in a separate bag and place it in different places in the travel bag.
- If belts and belts are folded into their usual position, they will take up a lot of space. It is more advisable to place them along the walls of the bag after completing the main items.
- To prevent your trousers from getting wrinkled, fold them to the very bottom, but spread the trouser legs to the sides, place rolls of T-shirts and other knitted items on top, and then cover with the remaining edges of the trousers.
Step three: you have put all your things in your suitcase, now all that remains is to wish you an easy and comfortable journey and a wonderful holiday!
OK it's all over Now! If you followed these recommendations, then your items are collected correctly and neatly. After all, a compactly packed suitcase is the key to a good vacation, since you will take with you only the essentials. And don’t forget to bring back a sea of positive emotions and amazing pictures as a souvenir so that it will last until next summer! :)
Fold socks and shoes compactly
- It is very convenient to fold socks directly into shoes. One shoe can fit as many as three pairs.
- Place each shoe in a separate plastic bag. Place them along the entire edge of your travel bag. This way you can save a lot of useful space rather than just throwing your shoes on the bottom.
- You can stock up on special shoe covers in advance. The remaining free space in them is perfect for socks and other small items.
- Place large shoes in cases at the bottom of the bag, and place flat ones at your discretion.
How to fold a robe without wrinkles
Every woman wants to feel comfortable, easy and beautiful at home. Therefore, for each type of activity and season there is its own clothing:
- For cleaning, cooking and other household chores - my husband’s old T-shirt and pants with bubbles,
- For summer relaxation - a light silk robe,
- For cozy winter sofa gatherings - warm knitwear or a blanket with sleeves,
- And to feel truly comfortable after a bath - a fluffy terry robe.
Since robes are not used as often as, say, a knitted suit, they are washed every two to three months. The rest of the time, home clothes hang in the bathroom. But some housewives prefer not to do this.
In old apartments, the bathtub is an accumulation of excess moisture, which it absorbs like a sponge. In addition, most often it is in the bathroom that washing occurs, to which worn items in the laundry basket can smell unpleasant. And if the bathroom is double, then there are other unpleasant odors that the fabric also absorbs.
What to do with socks?
If wearing a T-shirt or a silk blouse is a matter of taste, then socks are an item of clothing that everyone has in their wardrobe. Men and women, boys and girls, everyone uses socks. And, alas, not everyone knows how to fold them correctly and neatly. There is a method that grandmothers used: take two socks and use an elastic band of one of them to tie them both together. The method is good, but it also needs to be improved.
- We take both socks.
- We fold the part where there is no elastic (where the toes are located during wearing) to the heel.
- Use the elastic band of one of the socks to wrap both socks so that the folded parts are secured.
- We put this entire bag away in the designated place.

What affects the quality and speed of folding T-shirts
The more often you arrange things in the chosen way, the faster the skill is honed. It is recommended to collect clothing immediately after use. It is recommended to form a stack of T-shirts of the same quality and cut. In this case, things will lie flat, without wrinkles.
In addition to skill, the speed and quality of folding is influenced by the fabric from which the clothes are made, the presence of additional parts (collars, pockets, frills, flounces) and accessories.
What fabrics make T-shirts fold neatest?
The fastest and most convenient way to fold things is from natural materials. Linen or cotton clothes will lie neatly in the closet and do not require additional ironing before use.
What role does the fittings play?
Buttons, appliqués, lace ribbons and other decorative details make folding clothes difficult. Items with convex fittings are best stored on a hanger.
Storing a Shirt
This type of clothing is available for both sexes. Basically, it is placed on a hanger, but sometimes it is necessary to fold the product for convenient placement on a shelf or in a suitcase. If you don’t know how to carry out the process correctly, then before you put the item on in the future, you will need to iron it. You should not immediately fold the shirt after it is ironed; you need to wait a little for it to cool and take shape. Folds most often form on hot fabric.
To prevent the blouse from becoming wrinkled or dirty, it is recommended to wrap it in paper before moving it into the suitcase. You may have noticed that many shirts are sold with cardboard paper inserted inside. You can use the same method to fold the item. This method will keep the product in an ironed state. If after purchase the packaging from the shirt is not preserved, then you can use ordinary cardboard; it is sold in every stationery store.
During use
Separately, you need to dwell on storing already used towels. Since it becomes damp after use, it should not be rolled up or stored in a closet to prevent the development of pathogenic bacteria.
The most commonly used are hooks. In the bathroom, kitchen and toilet, used towels are simply hung on a hook. Hooks can be:
- permanently screwed to the wall;
- with suction cups for tiles and glass;
- attached to a door or desk cabinet.
A heated towel rail is also a fairly common option. After use, you just need to hang the towel on it, and in a few minutes it will be completely dry. Only after this can you roll or fold the towel into the closet.
Recently, open storage and all kinds of organizers have become very popular. Wet towels can be stored in open baskets or boxes.
You can use clothespins, hangers, special holders and hangers to hang a towel that is often used and should be visible. This type of storage is most often used in the kitchen.
Nowadays, much attention is paid to comfort and proper organization of living space. There are special schools and experts who teach how to properly store and fold things
If you want, it’s quite easy to learn this yourself, using data from the Internet.
You can use your imagination and come up with your own storage method. Fortunately, all kinds of experiments in the interior and the use of simple and accessible materials in the most daring designs are now welcomed.
Storing towels plays an important role in organizing the comfort and beauty of the bathroom. After all, beauty consists of details. And knowing how to fold a bath towel compactly can also save a lot of space for other things.
How to fold your underwear compactly

Tricks from the experts
Specialists and health workers who have to fold their work uniform every day are advised to always fold it after laying it on a flat surface. When doing this by weight, there is a risk of not noticing creases and folds, which will subsequently look untidy and spoil the overall appearance.
Important! The robe should be placed in a separate bag with Velcro or fasteners. This way it won’t get dirty in a shared bag and will be less wrinkled on the way to work.
Do not forget that the product requires a little “rest” after exposure to a hot iron. If you fold it immediately after ironing, strong creases will appear, making the robe untidy and seeming even more sloppy than before ironing.
Neatly folded professional clothing is straightened with the front side facing you. Don't waste time folding your uniform. Doctors should always look neat, and their clothes should be clean and ironed. Only such a specialist will be trusted by patients. This also applies to medical students. Professors are much more loyal to neat students in perfectly ironed dressing gowns.
How to fold cosmetics and toiletries
Hygienic products are wrapped in film or placed in sealed cases. Place them at the bottom or in the middle of the bag to avoid contamination when bottles spill.
It is recommended to distribute tubes, creams and cans into different sealed bags.
Advice! To prevent shampoo or liquid soap from accidentally spilling on the road, you can seal the bottle caps with tape or tape.
For cosmetics, special organizers with a secure fastener are used. It is better to put the cosmetic set in a separate pocket of the suitcase: this way it will be easier to get it out if necessary.
If there is no such pocket, the bag with cosmetics is placed on top of all other things.
Weight loss
A back towel roll for lying exercises helps you lose weight without exercise.
Losing weight with its help consists of 2 stages:
- It is recommended to perform the exercise on the floor; you can lay a gymnastic mat. It is necessary to prepare the roller in advance; it must be quite rigid. You should lie down on it carefully; you need to pay attention to the location of the cushion under your back: it should be exactly in the navel area. Your feet should be shoulder-width apart, with your big toes together. For convenience, at first you can fasten your fingers together with an elastic band. Press the palms of your outstretched arms to the floor in a position behind your head.
- After staying in the pose from the first stage is not difficult and there is no discomfort, you need to move on to stage 2. For this purpose, it is necessary to move the roller to the hypochondrium and thoracic region. In this position, the back muscles work and the ligaments become toned.
As a result of these procedures, the abdominal area is tightened and the waist becomes more defined. The effect of a bloated stomach goes away. The key to the success and operation of this method is its systematicity. For noticeable results, classes should be carried out from 2 weeks to 2 months. The table shows the location of the roller and the areas of its influence on certain points for weight loss.
Roller location | Effect area |
In the area under the chest | To improve breast shape, lose weight in the chest area |
In the area under the hips | To lose weight in the waist area, relieve tension and discomfort from the back muscles |
In the area below the lower back | To straighten posture, prevent osteochondrosis |
